Came here during the week for dinner with some coworkers and were seated right away. They greeted us and explained that we're able to scan and order right from there. As a first-timer, I wasn't sure what to expect, but everything about the experience was fantastic. Our server was incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful and made great recommendations. The food? Absolutely delicious. I went with the pulled pork and brisket, and both were outstanding. The pulled pork was tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned, and the brisket had that melt-in-your-mouth texture with great bark and flavor throughout. Everything tasted fresh and clearly made with care. I didn't get to try the famous burgers this time (apparently they're legendary here), but now I have the perfect excuse to come back very soon and order one. While we were still eating & had half of the food left on the platter a waiter began to clear off our table, even though we said we were still eating. It seem pretty expensive for what you got. The coleslaw was OK the good thing about it. It was not a lot of mayonnaise at all so it was very light. Tropical smokehouse is aesthetically pleasing. It's clean and open. The staff is amazing. Besides that this is a no for me. We tried the brisket which was dry and hard. I personally like my brisket to be soft and moist. The spareribs were chewy. The Mac and cheese is watery, it has the consistency of a soup. The corn bread is good, so are the hush puppies. The brisket empanada was tasteless, I'm not sure how that happened because it's packed with so much and yet it didn't taste like anything, lastly and the biggest disappointment is the key lime pie, which was more like a key lime jello. The Cole slaw was tasteless and dry. We put the mustard BBQ sauce on it and the slaw was good that way. The fries were cooked properly too. I think they were supposed to have seasoning on them. I think that because a couple did have seasoning. Dinner came with a small tub of tartar sauce. Additional tartar is 50c. The one cool thing there was the BBQ sauce bar. There's several kinds to choose from and they don't cost extra like the tartar sauce. You can use all the ketchup and BBQ sauce you want. We tried them all. I especially enjoyed the white BBQ sauce. Had never seen this before. Tasted like maybe horseradish and white pepper in a creamy white sauce. It was good on the fish and fries too. That's saying a lot because I consider ketchup to be its own food group. My friend liked the coffee BBQ sauce. Getting into the parking lot is always a challenge, but once you're in, it's well worth it. I was craving a burger and decided to try their infamous old-fashioned burger. Since Sunday nights can get crowded, I chose a spot where I didn't expect to be packed shoulder-to-shoulder.
