My husband and I were craving BBQ and we popped in last night to get our fix. It was surprisingly bigger inside than I thought it was going to be and we were seated right away. Our food came out quickly after our waiter took our order. The BBQ plate consists a choice of one meat and two sides. I got the three baby back ribs, macaroni and cheese, and fries. I enjoyed every bite of it and the extra wipes on the table were extremely helpful for the cleaning of the sticky hands. Our waiter was friendly and he had a positive spirit during the closing time. Got takeout, highly disappointed. Brisket was very dry, the girl didnt even give me a side of to go sauce. Also didnt give me utensils. Ribs were mehh and fatty. They just brushed on the sauce at the end it tasted like, instead of cooking it with the sauce on and letting it carmelize. I tried the plate consisting of baby-back ribs and 2 sides. The ribs were just okay to me. They were slightly too sweet for my preference, and slightly dry. I had to cut through them to eat. We got there right when they opened so maybe this was food leftover from the day before because it was dry and not a lot of flavor. The best thing was the French fries. That shouldn't be the highlight at a bbq joint. The meat was good quality, however none of it felt fresh. Seriously, extremely dry. So happy to have discovered this place in 2021. The deviled eggs are a fun appetizer and the filling was perfect. The pulled pork sandwich with Cole slow was perfect and incredible portion size. We were looking for a place in WPB for BBQ. We thought we'd give Pig Beach a try. We each did the BBQ plater ... 2 briskets and pulled pork with 2 sides. The sauce on the pulled pork was excellent. Unfortunately it was just a drizzle. The brisket was tender and cooked just right. The bottles on the table were well worn and we could not really make out what they were. Sampling led to a vinegar, mustard and a sweet. The sweet had a little tang that we could not figure out. We had sides of Mac & Cheese, potato salad, baked beans and fries. Fries were so/so but the rest were excellent except for the very small portions. They added some Texas toast, cucumbers and pickled onions. Onions were good. My cucumbers were dry and tasteless. We ordered their cornbread. Pieces were large, but I do not like sugar in my cornbread. They had sweet tea, which is very hard to find in S FL. However, after drinking sweet tea in GA for almost 27 years, it was pretty weak. They have big screen TVs doing the WorldCup, so it was more a sports bar atmosphere than a BBQ. Place was packed. This is a go-to spot for us because the food is consistently good. I usually go for the grilled smoked wings but I decided on the small BBQ plate choosing ribs, Mac and cheese and red coleslaw. I feel like that's the result of them possibly sitting all day but it was seriously off putting and I didn't even try them.. super disappointing and unappetizing. The Mac was super dry and didn't have a lot of flavor, on the bright side it wasn't greasy or oily but it lacked flavor and texture. Just super dry all in all I don't believe things would've been different if I had dined in, since the delivery address was less than 10 minutes away she picked it up and delivered it within 20 minutes! Fairly new, popular Barbeque place on Dixie Highway has a lot of options for your choice of protein: Brisket, Pork, Turkey, Pork Ribs and even Mahi. Being a casual restaurant, you order at the counter (and pay there, too) and a server brings out your food. My Brisket and Turkey platter came out very quickly and featured two sides (I picked Potato Salad and Cole Slaw); everything was very tasty- and portions were generous. We started with Mozzarella sticks! They were delicious and the cheese pull was amazing even after they cooled down the cheese pull was still on point. I went in hungry but my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. So I opted for one smoked jalapeño cheddar sausage and a side. I was torn between potato salad and French fries. I was greeted at the door by one f he employees. I sat at the bar which has a number of enormous television. The place is all set up for the football season. There are plenty of tables as well. Bring on the busy season. They had four different barbecue sauces and I had to run them all. My favorite was the tangy vinegar. It had a kick to it. I had the cheese burger with home made pickles, American cheese and a special sauce. I am not sure what was in it but it was good. The cheeseburger was served with chips but upgraded for three dollars to Cole slaw. The bar tender did a great job but he never asked how I wanted my burger so I received it well done. Maybe that is why it took so long to be served. I did have to ask for my bill. It should be there when it comes time to pay. This is one of my favorite places I will have to remember. read more
