People were very nice. Ambience is very western, old tv playing on a projector it was very fit for the restaurant. The food was okay, I would like to go back and try something else but here are a few things. The brisket was kind of dry and bland, I would like for them to add a sweet bbq sauce but it is the Texas bbq taste with the sauce. This was one of the best bbq experiences we have had in a long time. We were brought here by friends who'd enjoyed the food here and wanted us to try it. We are so glad they did. This small, family-owned casual restaurant is located in a Publix shopping center on Donald Ross Road just north of the Jupiter/West Palm border. There's lots of parking right out front. You order and pay at the cashier. They give you a funny or famous name to remember your order. Ours was Pocahontas. But they brought the trays of food to our table. It's not often that both couples liked everything we ordered -- including the sides. And we even had leftovers to take home. My husband had a pulled pork plate. He got the sauce on the side. He also tried their potato salad and baked beans and added on cornbread, too. The pork was quite tender and tasty. The beans had a slight sweet but peppery twist to them; the corn bread was sweet and cake like. I got their rib tips. This was a pound of meat only. I got their rib tips with a dry rub. Sauce on the side. If you're not afraid to eat with your fingers around the bone and the cartilage, this is for you. These small chopped odd-sized pieces of ribs were absolutely delicious. And since it's so hands on, I was glad I'd got the sauce on the side. Messy but not too bad in company. My husband gave me the fried biscuit that came with his meal. I loved it, as well. Our friends had a pulled pork sandwich, and a half rack of ribs with collards and potato salad. They were happy campers, too. So glad we got a chance to try this place. Eight years ago, I gave them a five star review. Today I find their pricing to be a challenging proposition. I understand the prices have gone up but other places offer better deals. Their food is still pretty decent, but I eat it much more rarely now. Sadly, most of my neighbors say the same thing given the relative value proposition. Given that this is more of a takeout restaurant as the facility is very small they should think this over. read more

My cousin and wife took us to their favorite barbecue place and we certainly found out why it is! Order at the counter and have a seat at one of the tables or comfortable booths as you savor the smell of BBQ being prepared for you. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, me the most. I had a Pulled Pork Plate with their special sauce on the side. The baked beans and my added side of cornbread was delicious. The beans had a slight peppery flavor with a touch of sweetness. I asked for Banana pudding which they did not have tonight, but they did offer Banana Cream pie. My wife enjoyed her Rib Tips and had it with sauce on the side. One full pound delicious, chopped rib tip pieces. I gave her the fried biscuit that came with my platter and she said it was delightful. I'm going to be honest, the fact I was over charged for every single item while ordering online made me extremely upset once I went in and saw the menu. I spent 40$ for something that should've costed me 23.50. Literally 39$ in total. Don't understand how. But I will never go back here. Unfortunate bc I work 6 mins away I'm very sad this happened. I love my bbq:( The brisket was good (possibly very good very moist and spot on! Best part of the meal) also the collards were very good! (Second best part of the meal I loved them!) the pricing is why the review is at three stars :/ the Mac and cheese was soggy it was not even edible. they (possibly) bought it in from a vendor.. it tasted like they did not make it in house, it was almost like they heated it up too much to the point it gets soggy. The bbq sauce has a very strong alcohol taste to it too, I did not enjoy the sauce itself I believe it was mild (the sweet one) the coleslaw had a strong cabbage taste I was not a fan of it, it tasted like a lot of mayo I love my slaw too. That also tasted like it was bought in from a vendor. Ordered online for my lunch break went in 20 mins later after (25 min wait is what I was told) they clearly had no tickets hanging up or any customers I waited another 20 minutes on my lunch break for them to get my food ready.. all in all I was disappointed with this experience and would not recommend my friends or family to eat here.. Interior had a warm feel and seemed like it would be a nice place to sit and eat. Unfortunately I do not see myself returning in the future or recommending this place to anybody. read more

Okay BBQ, but not top notch. I think my baby back ribs could have been better. I found them pretty dry and over cooked. A little mushy. The potato salad was delicious. The baked beans were okay. The brisket was nice and tender and the chicken was seasoned well and delicious. Now the bad. I personally am not a fan of their bbq sauce. It was very tomato? heavy. I'm so glad I finally stopped by here. I've heard about their award-winning barbecue for a long time, and I noticed that it's in the Publix plaza on the corner of Military and Donald Ross, just past Abacoa. I took my mom and kids here. The parking is weird in this plaza, but it was fine to find a space. The theme is Western, with cute mason glass jar lamps, and a hand washing station made with a barrel and a pump. The space itself is very small, but plenty of tables open, plus more outside. The booths were pretty fun and private, and the one we sat in gave my kids a perfect view of the giant screen playing Little House on the Prairie episodes with closed captioning (country music on the radio) - this is so kid-friendly and definitely made the meal more enjoyable as a parent. The atmosphere was comforting even though it is a fast casual place. We ordered in the ordering line. I had a brisket sandwich with coleslaw on it, and my mom had the pulled pork sandwich. I ordered one of each of the kids meals and split them, so each kid had half a cup of mac n cheese and half a brisket slider, but this was plenty for them considering they were complaining about trying something new. Ketchup helped and they keep asking to return. They each chose the sliced apples as their side and it was at least an entire apple, beautifully sliced and displayed. I loved my sandwich. The brisket was tender and tasty, the coleslaw tangy and crunchy, and the barbecue sauce was delicious and not too spicy. I ended up buying more to bring home with me, plus a slice of banana cream pie which had a wonderful cinnamony crust. I loved seeing the owner and her son behind the counter, plus pictures of them on the hallway walls. All the more special to know this is family owned and operated. Came here for dinner and ordered the 1/2 chicken dry rub with cole slaw and collard greens and mild sauce To start off with the good: the fried biscuit it comes with is very good, it's basically just a donut with no sugar but super good. I also liked the collard greens for the first few minutes when they were warm. Finally the chicken was cooked well, pretty tender just not a lot of flavor. The one drum that came with it was actually very good. Like many people who have reviewed this before the sauce very much just tasted like tomato sauce and didn't really go well with BBQ. Dry Rub didn't have great flavor either. I also thought that the Cole slaw was not good at all almost not worth eating, super runny/watery with a lot of mayo and no real flavor. I wanted ribs and brisket. Two staples of the BBQ world. 36 dollars later I have a little metal tray with a time half slab of overcooked poor tasting ribs and some chopped brisket that looked like dry dog food. Extremely disappointing after reading reviews here. First tipoff should have been that there were no customers in the restaurant at 6pm prime dinner time. When we entered, there was a terrible smell, but being in a strong mood for bbq, we decided to stay. Counter service with booths and tables. Small printed menu 8x12" posted on wall. Difficult to read with low lighting. I asked for a printed takeout menu and was told these were not available, but to Look on the internet. I decided to order a snack size rib portion. Was asked which sauce i wanted plain, medium or hot. I mentioned that these were relative terms and asked if i could have a small spoon with the medium and hot. Again, told this wasn't possible. I asked why and did not receive an answer. Placed my order of snack portion 3 of ribs with mac and cheese and potato salad. Bbq sauce was delivered cold separately in a tiny 1 oz plastic container. Gee, couldn't have Let me try beforehand? Ribs were cold but tasted okay. Halfway through potato salad, there was a bad taste. I abandoned rest of food. Wasn't going to take a chance. I didn't mention it to manager because from the Minute we walked in, it was obvious he was Not In an accommodating mood. Hopefully this review will prevent someone from ruining a dinner night out. UPDATE TO RYAN'S RESPONSE: correct. It was hard to decide on what to order and no suggestions were made. And no offer to help with samples of the spicy heat sauces. Had a very nice bbq dinner tonight at Mrs Smokey's (Jupiter). I loved their original location in the 90s at Sawgrass Mills, but theyve since moved to Palm Beach years ago and it's still great! Their brisket and pulled pork combo was delicious as was the smoked chicken Cobb. Their homemade chipotle ranch salad dressing was also delicious with a nice kick to it. Their medium sauce has a kick and their hot will leave you wanting water nearby. They include an addictive fried biscuit with every meal and I found myself dipping it in the medium sauce. They still have the western theme interior with the model train overhead. Very affordable too at under $20 for our entrees. Grabbed a few bottles of sauce to take home. The owners have a background in bbq owning several places in NY decades ago. My next trip, I need to try their Hot Links and some collards. read more

Literally a little hole in the wall that was part of a chain of restaurants but now this is one of the last remaining ones. The brisket, fried I biscuit, macaroni and cheese and the collard green were all excellent in my opinion, the prices are about average I was disappointed with the apple pie, however, never buy it again. Someone commented that they had some Indian Native American art up on the walls and they found it offensive. I didn't see any such art but if I had, I've been happy anything to promote Native American art is a good thing in my opinion. read more
