I am so glad I found this company. This is the 2nd time we have needed movers in the last month and a half and we were NOT happy with the company we used the first time. Jason and Mike were polite, friendly, honest and worked hard. They got the job done in just over 3 hours with only two of them, while the company we used before took over 4 hours with three guys! They had NO hidden fees what so ever. They only charged me exactly what they said they would charge over the phone. Everything is included in their hourly rate which was more affordable than any other place I came across. I agree with the previous comments completely. Steve (owner) is not the rude, just not super high on the sociability scale. Still he was professional enough and answered my questions/ concerns for the move. The pricing was reasonable too ($90/hr for smaller truck - $130/hr for larger truck). We moved from a 2nd level unit in Natomas, to a 3 tri-level Condo in Natomas. Steve R. the lead mover and his crewman (Joey) .. were A-MAZING. Literally as we were talking and working, he very sincerely said "we just treat your stuff as if it was our own". Not to mention the fact when a HUGE guy comes to your door on moving day, it is a bit of relief... but the kindness and professionalism really took the cake. PS - treat your movers well! They didn't expect it - but VERY much appreciated that we provided water/gatorade and loaded Steve up on energy drinks once I found out he liked them! Ha! it was like putting gasoline in the engine! These guys make the company, and are great people all around. Great find on the owner's part. Bravo. They were literally the best part of the moving process - and did it all with a smile. Everything was "no problem" and "absolutely", even when i changed my mind 3x on where boxes should go! (TIP: this is common sense, but just in case you forget in all the shuffle... label your boxes, and especially the heavy ones. Label where they should be placed in the house, it'll make every thing go smoother & faster). Did i forget anything? .. I think that's it. They're awesome. 916Movers! Are a JOKE. We've been moving back & forth all day because 916Movers came in with a small truck and needed at least 8' to block off just for TV's, then they told us what they would or would not take, and with a 4 hour window to work, they took the backroad instead of the freeway, & it took them 50 minutes, when it would have only taken 30 minutes on the Freeway. So, with me helping them move everything into the house we where 15 minutes over, and believe it or not; THESE A-HOLES STILL CHARGE US FOR GOING OVER BY 15 MINUTES. REALLY! They didn't use all the space in that tiny truck, took the backroad, I helped, and they still change us for going over by 15 minutes. ILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY "916Movers" TO ANYONE! My TV fell in the truck which damaged the TV (still works) and my coffee table, but they gave me a discount to make up for it. These guys were great. As I was trying to pick out movers, I was a little skeptical of any movers we were trying to select. Would they no show or reschedule? Would they damage our items or new home? Would they be lazy and run up the hourly rate? From the moment Jesse and his crew arrived (on time with a call prior to showing up), they busted their butts and worked non stop. They went above and beyond, moving things we weren't expecting they would say yes too (potted plants and gym weights). They wrapped all our wood and glass furniture and loaded up the very large moving truck. Once everything was loaded, they drove to our new home and started moving everything in the home immediately. It was a new home and I was worried about the movers scratching the freshly painted walls when they were going upstairs, but they did a fantastic job being careful with everything. A three man crew showed up for my move. Two of the guys were great and hard workers. One man showed up late in his own car. He took multiple breaks and even the other crew members were calling him on it. I went to pick up pizza for their lunch and beer for when the job was over. I came back to find boxes clearly marked kitchen in the garage. The one man who was late had a real attitude about moving the boxes to the rooms marked on the boxes. He also grabbed a beer and drank it before the job was done. I told him that was for when the job was done. Next time I would just lock it in my car until they were finished. I found boxes stacked 7 feet high in the kitchen with the crystal and China clearly marked at the bottom of the stack. Plenty of floor space to not stack boxes so high when I am 5'5". Everything is unpacked and the remote control for my adjustable bed is gone along with a small electric chain saw that goes on a pole. The pole is here, no saw. Bed remote was under warranty and easily replaced. Unfortunately one person with a bad attitude would prevent me from using or recommending this company. They dump and run. Beware. Too bad my things were missing. Update-I spoke with the owner on the day of the move and he either wasn't listening or blew me off, so I see no point in discussing this again. I think his defensive response says it all, the customer is wrong. read more
