I had a great experience with them. The owner/manager was quick to respond to questions, gave good feedback on recommendations on the time/labor would be needed to complete our move. When they movers arrived (on time) I was a little concerned because they looked a little scruffy, one smelled of marijuana smoke, but they were top notch, professional, fast and careful with moving our items and that's what matters. They provided moving equipment, truck, plastic wrap, furniture blankets, etc. We were on the second level, but they made easy work down the stairs. They wore masks and were safe during their work. I'm an Air Force retiree and have had my fair share of professional moves. 916 Movers is a group of professionals and I wholeheartedly recommend them. We hired 916 movers to help us move on 3/2/2020 and it was the best decision ever. We had two movers (jay & jamal) come who were right on time and efficient to where they finished the job in 4 hrs, which was their minimum amount of hours per job. These two men were very professional and treated our belongings carefully. I called other movers for quotes and hands down 916movers had the most reasonably priced rates for a 700sq apt and 2 men for just moving (no packing because we wanted to this ourselves). We moved from a large house in Elk Grove to Natomas- we got 3 movers for 4 hours. Best investment during this stressful time. Steve was extremely insightful and was quick in responding to calls, text messaging, and assisting. The 3 movers we had (De, Jesse, and Lorenzo) was able to move our large furnitures and boxes extremely quickly while also wrapping the fragile items in blankets and Saran Wrap. All of our delicate items were transported safely and quickly. They were extremely professional and did not waste anytime/ milking the clock. They had amazing customer service with friendly demeanor and always asking if we needed anything else done, or ask us if certain things were to our liking. When we received confirmation that our the closing date on our house was 2.5 weeks out, we quickly called 916 Movers and they were able to accommodate our move date with no problem. Things got broken. Very rough with boxes also messed up one of my door frames in my new house. Not happy with them at all. This was my first experience with a moving company so I was a bit worried. I contacted 916Movers along with multiple other companies to try and compare but immediately I was told by a couple that they were "booked". I believe it they just didn't want to do the job because I only was moving the furniture in a 2br apartment. I did get a response from 916Movers the next day and they just had a cancelation and offered me an immediate appointment the next day. The guys, Cliff and Tommy, showed up exactly on time, were friendly, careful, and fast. They secured everything as they loaded it in the truck and plastic wrapped or protected with blankets(they provided) everything. We used 916Movers not once but twice. The first time we moved from out of the area and hired them for unloading only. We were impressed by how quickly they unloaded (compared to the company we used to load). However, we recently used them to move into a different home and now we are even more impressed. We have the same furniture (and more) from our move 8 months earlier but 916Movers was significantly faster and more thorough than the other company (and the other company charged significantly more). I hate to write a negative review when they were so friendly and positive. But honestly that doesn't matter when you break the most expensive thing I own. And had it been a mistake, I would not be upset, but it was simply carelessness. I stored the box that my TV came in in a closet for 3 years for this one day. I asked the movers to put the TV in the box before moving it and they did not. As far as I saw, they did not wrap it all. The TV broke. The minimum time for these movers is 4 hours - you pay for 4 hours no matter what. The move took around 3 hours, so there was no rush. I don't know why they didn't put the TV in the box. But what upsets me the most is the mover knew the TV was broken (I watched him trying to fix it and assumed he had done so) and he left it perched precariously on the stand. As soon as I slightly moved it, it fell over. Luckily, I was standing in front of it and I caught it before it hit the ground, but this was very dangerous, particularly since I have cats. When I reported the problem, they sent me a generic stand for the TV that I needed to put together, despite my stating that I am not handy and did not want something I had to put together myself. Of course, as always happens with these kits, there were necessary pieces missing. So instead of taking the limited time I had to unpack, I had to spend it going to a hardware store to buy the missing pieces and constructing this thing myself. I would definitely not trust these folks with another move. Re: the owner's comment below, he was not there so he does not know what happened. Actually, the TV came apart while they were moving it to the room I wanted it in, so they were trying to get it back together. The TV was left precariously on the stand when the mover was unable to screw it into the stand. This movers and owner of the company do not listen. Please do not tell me this is a 'better' stand. The original stand requires a simple pop in/pop out to take it off the stand. This is better to me because it requires less work. The stand he purchased for me will need to be dissembled and reassembled every time I move. This is not better. Read the owner's comment: he's saying I should be grateful that the movers broke my things because he did the bare minimum to make it right. I never received an apology for the extra hassle caused by the movers' carelessness, instead I get disrespect for writing an honest review. Is this the attitude you want from the company you are trusting to move your possessions? A little humility and accommodation goes a long way when you break people's things. read more

First of all, I reached out to 8-10 moving companies. 916 was quick to respond (I never heard back from some) and talked through our unique situation with us and discussed the best options. We had furniture in 2 storage units in one location and one apartment at a different location. All of it needed to be moved to a central location and then loaded into a U-Pack trailer. Steve and his team were nothing short of AMAZING. They confirmed ahead of time, were on time and ready to go and were clearly EXPERTS on how to pack so everything stays safe and uses the least amount of space (a key component when using U-Pack). We were fine with the way they treated us. but after arriving at the independent living they became angry at the staff, that they had to put masks on when we even gave them a bag of masks. The staff came to me twice, telling me they were making a scene downstairs and were about to lock them out. My mom is 90 and what would we have done if that happened with a truck of stuff?? We had a reasonable experience with 916 Movers. We broke the move into 2 parts as suggested by them (good plan). Day 1 was moving an apartment into our new home. It went ok but I noticed they struggled to take the bed apart and put it back together. It took extra time and it didn't get put back together as well. I called the owner to ask for a more technical crew for Day 2. I explained they didn't seem to have the tools to do the job. The owner said he didn't want to provide tools to the crew. So the problem with this plan is that me the customer gets to pay extra hourly charges while the crew struggles with screwdrivers rather than a proper power driver. Heads get rounded off or broken using pliers rather than proper wrenches. I disagree with this policy and believe the crew should be provided with reasonable tools. This leads to a faster job done in a better way. read more
