Amazing ambience and service! Super friendly and fun! I got the Shanghai Summer Fling, I loved the fruity mildy sweet drink with light cream brulee crunch topping and the salty soy milk foam. I would definitely come back again for a special occasion!

Absolutely love the ambiance here. Felt like I was in a movie set in a retro Asian film. Drinks are in a CD album menu, so creative! Fermented teas are the only non-alcoholic drinks, was a fan! Others thought their drinks were decent but not mind blowing. Definitely coming back for the Monday night live jazz

Great atmosphere. Nice drinks! Service is very friendly. They have a 90 mins limit per table tho.

Wow, the new space is so beautiful. From LIC, the successful 929 found a new, chic, spacious home in Midtown East with a four level space including Traveler and Hue House. 929 is the Taiwanese listening bar with a large and intriguing menu, honoring East Asian flavors in both the cocktails and the food. I got what I think is called time after time which has a homemade strawberry fruit crisp. The drink is on the boozier side but don't taste like it and for strawberry lovers it's a must try! The music is bopping, there are bar seats as well as sofa seats - A+ vibe for a date or catchup!

Super cute cocktail bar on the second floor of the Traveler. Main complaints were that it was freezing cold and service was a little pushy so we were in and out quite quickly. I got the Shanghai summer fling, which was like a sweet tea. Really enjoyed it and there were some sort of sugar pieces on top, along with a layer of foam. Our group of 6 was able to sit at a booth, and they have quite a few so solid option for a slightly larger group. Each table has a CD menu, which was cool and I definitely like a lot more than the digital menu. This a really aesthetic bar, good for pics. My friends didn't really enjoy their drinks, years and years and spring of life. Some drinks are on the pricier end. Would consider coming back but only if I had a thick jacket.

929 Lounge has such a sexy vibe and is absolutely perfect for a date night. Maybe not a first date since it's definitely on the cramped side... unless you're already sure there's going to be a second one. The cocktail menu being printed on CDs is such a fun, nostalgic touch, and every drink we tried was genuinely good. I'm already planning my next visit just to work my way through more of the menu. Cool atmosphere, great drinks, and a spot you'll want to linger in. Can't wait to go back.

This is a really cute spot! I had the Shanghai summer fling and it was delicious. Def want to come back and try more drinks. The place is vibey and dim lit. When I arrived on a Friday evening, a lot of girls were dressed up nicely. Great vibes and energy

Good lounge bar. A bit too warm and it was filled with people. Really appreciated the canto pop music. Found dj ing with cd really cool! Def don't see this often. Drinks are more creative than that of downstairs in travelers. Really appreciated the ambience and music

Located on the 2nd floor of Hue House, a multicultural Asian American building, this is a nice sit down bar that features Canto and Mando pop culture influences. I love the tea infused cocktails and their craft is high up there. We made reservations a few days in advance which is mandatory in the weekends. Even if you want to only try the tea vending machine, you may not have luck just trying it since they mandated reservations or waitlist to get tokens, since a lot of people are waiting for tables for the 929 bar and there's extremely limited space on the first floor My friends and I were able to get seated 30 min before our reservation, noting we would only have 90 min which is basically the same rule enforced for a reservation at the original time. We tried the following drinks - Shanghai Summer Fling - their most popular drink. I really liked this one - fruity, tea, with a bit of tropical and foam - Heirloom + Folklore - clarified cocktail, smooth - Eyes, Smoke, Magic - an acquired taste - you either love it or hate it. I enjoyed it - smoky tea flavor profile that can be a bit medicinal in smell, and spirit forward - Years and Years - fruity and slightly herbal, has a nice fruit roll up like garnish to enjoy Drinks were delivered fairly quickly and we were able to easily catch up with one another as the place was not too loud while we are able to sit in close proximity without being too tight of a space. Water refills were abundant which I appreciate. While cocktail prices are above average ($21-28 each before tax and tip), you'll be rest assured you will be well taken care of!

It's not what I expected to find here, and if I worked or lived in this area I'm sure I'd want to pop in often to browse or shop. Having said that... the shop is a bit cramped, which makes comfortable browsing a challenge--understood it is the city and real estate is a challenge, but the layout does make for a less than comfortable experience. Perhaps it is the hybrid portion record shop/portion club that means there isn't a ton of room for the shop portion. As for the browsing, it was a bit frustrating -- I was looking for a holiday gift and was having issues and wound up asking for help - "Do you have anything by Tori Amos?" "i dunno" (not super helpful) "...but you can look under T. Yep... they alphabetize by artist first name. I found Weird Al Yankovic under "A". I don't even know where to start there...I would personally expect to find this under Y...if you want to try to make a case to have it under W and treat "Weird" like a band or entity name I won't agree but I'll listen... but under A? For Al? We're alphabetizing by first name? Come on!! Mock outrage aside, it just felt too hard to find anything, not a fun place to browse and not a lot of assistance available to do so. Decent amount of records though, prices seemed a bit all over the map to me--some reasonable, some a bit outlandish--perhaps more careless than trying to rip people off--but I'd wager you can make some finds here. Might not have been my favorite record shop, but it's a record shop nonetheless--I'm sure I'll be back.

Folks running the shop are friendly and knowledgeable, and there's a great selection, so all good there. But it's not my favorite place.

His communication skills (or lack there of) ruin my experiences here every time. This time he scoffed at me saying "I'll pass on this one" to a record with a 8" scuff. Even after I apologized and led with "I am admittedly picky with my vinyl". Customer is always wrong in this establishment. It's unlikely i'll be returning in the future, and if I do it'll be for the selection of CDs only as I find the used selection is rather out of style. Very little GOOD used stuff. The reissues are plentiful, well curated, and priced at MSRP. The CD selection is admittedly incredible, but the pricing reminds me of FYE prices circa 2003; height of CD era prices. If you decide to come here I'd suggest only coming for the great selection of CDs and reissues, despite the prices of the former. I am happy with the CDs I did buy, as well as the reissue, but am very let down by the condition of the used record I brought home. The lighting is plentiful, so I'll take full responsibility for picking out a subpar album. I will never take responsibility for being treated like I am a nuisance by the owner; time and time again despite always spending a good chunk of money every time I visit. I'd much rather spend my hard earned money where it is appreciated.

I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.
