Huuma is one of those places that just feels right. Tucked away in Chinatown with a speakeasy vibe, smooth jazz in the background, solid tea-infused cocktails, and really satisfying small plates to snack on. Everything we ordered hit, and the service stood out -- attentive, friendly, and quirky in a way that added to the charm. A great spot for a relaxed night and good conversation.

@foodie_starry Very cute bar with vivid vibes. Bar area is good but the table area is not too comfortable. Better to go in pairs. Great for date. The Earl Grey Espresso Martini is a must! Only two workers there so the service may be a little slow during peak hours. They also have one hour unlimited drinks for 27 dollars per person but unfortunately the Earl Grey Espresso Martini is not included. Super tiny bar that serves some amazing food. When they initially opened, Huuma was quite popular on social media and they had a happy hour for unlimited drinks at $21/hr. A few months later I went and they increased it to $27/hr. But honestly I would recommend the food options they have. First time, I loved the ribeye udon but sadly the second time, they changed the meat and it was so much worse. I also ordered the oden twice which was still top tier. Drinks: Lychee martini: super strong and bitter Taiwanese ice tea: nice ice tea flavor Apreol spritz: strong Hibiscus margarita: bad bleh Oolong whiskey highball: honestly no memory Yuzu sake: super nice and subtle, best drink I tried Food: ribeye udon: loved it the first time potato fries: very normal French fries oden: loved the different options of fishcakes; soup was also amazing

    Fried Oysters. Amazing.

This is a different dining and drinking experience in the heart of Little Italy. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Huuma features Asian tea-infused cocktails that are delicious. The food, which is mostly Japanese-inspired, is also delicious. I really enjoyed the Taiwanese-Tea cocktail and the Rose Gin Sour. They were pretty as well as tasty. I'd also recommend the small bites, especially the pork belly skewers and the fried oysters which were crunchy, yummy and out of this world. My adult daughter shared the meal and drinks with me . We also ordered a large bowl of assorted fish cakes to share which were as delicious as they were eye-catching. It was very filling and beautifully presented. There's usually seating in the rear of the bar but on the night we visited it was being reserved for an event. So we and everyone else who came in sat at the bar. The bartenders were awesome. With cocktail shakers in hand, they put in quite a show. All the while, they were also taking food and drink orders. We had such a good time, it's certainly worth another visit.

I had quick drinks and bites at the bar early on Thursday afternoon. The petite sitting space a few stairs up is very appealing for a future personal gathering. The ladies behind the bar were nice and courteous. Can't wait to return for the all you can drink menu.

I had passed by this peculiarly-located cocktail bar a few months back and made a mental note to return, if only to see what compelled this intriguing moody establishment to locate on one of the most touristy blocks of the city. The inside was not quite as mysterious as I had envisioned. Maybe the lights were too bright? They specialize in tea-infused cocktails, so I tried a Japanese whiskey infused with oolong, which was good but didn't leave a strong impression. The menu appears to be a mix of Taiwanese and Japanese, including Taiwan's informal national dish, lu rou fan, but we just stuck to drinks.

Loved my $21 all you can drink cocktails experience during Cocktail Hour so much that I went two days in a row, showing off this amazing deal to multiple friends! Was wowed by the delicious drinks and affordability combined with the upscale cocktail bar interior. I drank about 5 cocktails per visit and left the establishment FEELING GOOD! Definitely a MUST VISIT for any occasion when visiting NYC!

The drinks were SO GOOD. I'm not the biggest fan of taste of alcohol but the drinks here were actually pretty good in hiding the alcohol taste so I absolutely loved it. Got the $27 All you can drink and was so good at such a good deal! Especially the lychee Martini, aperol spritz, and hibiscus Margarita. The foods chicken/pork lays was not the best tasting or best quantity for the price but what can you expect, just a little something to accompany the drink. Overall solid experience. The bartender was also incredibly nice and attentive considering he was managing the entire bar by himself while serving food. Cute ambiance, perfect vibes for a nice night out, just a little cramped so don't come with too big of a bag

Honestly, I miss the bao place that was here before.. Was excited to try the new place as they slightly renovated and changed the whole vibe of the place. There was only one person working when we went so the service was VERY slow and because we sat upstairs, half the time we were just staring him down in hopes that he will notice us.. The drinks that we got did not taste like we expected based off the descriptions from the menu, and the skewers seemed very undercooked and wasn't that hot (temperature). The bacon was way too long and we had to chew SO much.. it was also hard to cut it into pieces because it was so undercooked.. The corn wasn't anything fancy and literally just tasted like.. corn. Definitely recommend using the spice that comes on the side of the skewers to elevate the flavors though! Maybe we will sit at the bar next time..

Saw this happy hour deal and decided to stop by. In the beginning, there was a loud group inside which made me reluctant to go inside. I went in and was glad to see the list for aycd deal. It's not bad. I stuck with two drinks, the four season daiquiri and the hisbicus margarita. I enjoyed the hisbicus margarita more since it's more fruity and I'm not a big fan of tea infused alcholic drink. Overall it's a good place to try out.

Sleek aesthetic bar space with great cocktails + bites! 4.5/5 Taiwanese Iced Tea ($9): loved this earl grey tea based cocktail! The happy hour price was also a great deal for being in Little Italy 4.3/5 Bacon Enoki Skewer: nice grilled flavor on the bacon, enoki was on the tougher side, loved the sauce 4.5/5 Pork Belly Skewer: loved that they used a leaner cut of pork belly, sweetness and crunch form the scallion was a nice touch too

Beef udon, hibiscus margarita, corn ribs, beef enoki skewers

I did like the corn ribs but nothing special. We also got the beef udon 2/10 it was not good and not worth the $17. We came in because we were going to do the unlimited $27 an hour aycd but we were notified in store it was only mon-thurs. Super misleading on their part because they don't mention it on the website. I also got the bacon enoki skewers for $9, not worth it imo. Nothing special about it once again. For drinks I got the hibiscus margarita which was superrr sweet. You couldn't taste the oolong in the oolong whiskey highball. The rose gin sour and lychee martini was alright. For $17 a cocktail, I'd rather go somewhere else. Service wasn't that great either. It wasn't busy but they didn't seem attentive at all. There's not a lot of seating as well. If you're going to come with a big group, you should make a reservation for the two tables in the back. I'd probably only come back for the $27 aycd deal.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

The bi-level bar and lounge was dark, swanky, and seductive. It would make an excellent spot for dates or groups of friends, like mine. We started off sitting at the bar, as there were no large tables available upon our arrival. However, after about 15 minutes, the host approached to tell us that he could actually seat us. I picked up my glass, which was wet with condensation, and it slipped out of my hands. I was able to collect it with only a minor spill, but the host insisted that the bar staff make me a new cocktail in case the glass had chipped at all. It was a considerate gesture that I greatly appreciated. Plus, since I had already taken a few sips, I was thrilled to get those back in a new glass! In terms of my cocktail of choice, I had opted for the Hot Tijuana Tease, a fiery blend of mezcal, blanco tequila, chile poblano liqueur, and lime juice. So, it was essentially a spicy margarita, and it was excellent. There were clean, crisp notes of peppery heat balanced with layers of robust smoke. My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. It was awkward and uncomfortable to share that space with another patron. Aside from that, the Hide Rooftop was a beautiful place with a friendly staff and interesting drinks.
