My friend got some organizational room items like a shoe rack and cube system, too - at low prices! Five Below was introduced to me in Los Angeles by my friend, Jean L. She gave me good advice and I passed it on! We enjoyed the quirky t-shirts, cute plushies, large selection of techie stuff, awesome books, etc. Everything is priced $1, $5, $10, or so. Ezekiel was the most friendliest, efficient, and helpful worker! He guided us through the complex self-checkout process. The system was really challenging to me. (I'm not a techie person... Haha!) My niece agreed with me: I wish we had this store in Hawaii! I think Ezekiel would be the perfect person to open the new store! He would be a great team leader - I can imagine him training the new employees patiently! We hope that Five Below comes to Hawaii! Prices were reasonable at a few dollars for each item. Nothing was over $5 that I could see. Only wish they had more snacks. The man at the cashier didn't talk much but wasn't rude or anything. They do accept credit cards and touch less payment too.

You can tell this is a privately owned one and usually pardon my ethnic naiveness but seem to be run by mideastern personnel. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? These group of people usually are more diligent in up keeping the supply and demand in their stores. You will find everything and additional items you might not see at the other King dollar locations. What was the best deal that you cannot find in the other dollar stores as an example? A brick (10 packages to a box) of spearment gum. That's about 100 little pieces of square packaged gum for $1! I bought a box the week earlier to test out to see if the gum is ligit and yep it sure is. Oh, by the way, I came back and bought the last 18 boxes so you are stuck with the peppermint, better get to them while they last. (July period, 2013). This location is right by the eStar buffet that is always crowded. Parking for the times I have been there have been very ample but will be challengable at peak times with the buffet a few doors down. Not all stores carry the flourescent *sp* light bulbs anymore, not sure because of supply, but this place does carry them.

I recently purchased two sets of Nautica socks at the Ross on Kirby in Houston…read more When I got home and tried them on, I found that they were slippery and made my shoes squeak (probably why they were at Ross). Living 50 miles, I called ahead and was told by the person on the phone that there wouldn't be a problem returning socks without a receipt. I made the trip in rush hour traffic (seriously), only to be told by the manager, who confirmed that she was actually the same person I talked to on the phone, that no return could be made without the original packaging. I replied that the socks didn't come in a package, only a wraparound sticker and a plastic fastener. She replied that she knew this, but considered those things to be the package. Really?!? To any sane person, those things are just trash! I suggested that she just scan an identical item from the shelf, but she refused, saying something like there was a chance of scanning the wrong one. I knew that there were only two versions of this product, though, because I had bought one of each version! It's standard practice for retail stores to grab a matching product from the shelf in order to scan the UPC. Her refusal to do so seemed to be a deliberate attempt to save face and deny my reasonable request. This misleading info and poor service wasted my time and fuel. I reached out to the corporate office, to give them a chance to make this right, but all they did was quote the return policy, which I did not run afoul of. To be more specific, the return policy does not require that the item be in its original packaging. I will be happy to remove my poor review of Ross Stores when they issue me a refund. Until then, y'all are better off going to the competition. There's plenty out there.
