Hold your keys and wallet close in this area affectionately known as crazy town. People screaming and talking to themselves. Across the street is savers where a friend literally saw a lady poop in the parking lot several years ago. The water in Las Vegas is "different". It doesn't taste like Hawaiian water... It's a challenge for me to drink, so I usually get a case of water from 99 Cents Only Store. I think the prices are reasonable here. The greeting cards and artificial flowers are also a bargain. I like to stock up whenever I can. These items are easy to pack and don't weigh too much. I like to browse and find fun gifts for my nieces and yard decorations for my mom. Sometimes I can find useful items such as extension cords, charging cables, kitchen gadgets, seasonal items, and yummy snacks! Too bad we don't have this store in Hawaii... Lisa is an amazing employee, I love conversing with her as I check out here, she deserves to be recognized for her efforts are great and she's always bright and cheery regardless of how negative or rude people can be toward her which I've seeen. I go to the 99 cent store to stock up on 1 liter Topo Chico and random crap I don't really need like cool stickers and scrub brushes. I would leave a 5 star review for Lisa & the crew that works here but I have to give this place two stars because they are very understaffed, it's super uncool! I typically wait 10-15 minutes to check out. It's very frustrating to go through. I may stop supporting 99 cent only stores for this reason, but I gotta get my Topo Chico, fixes! Inside store facing cashiers store poster sign showed Discounts from .05% to 30% off. None of my food items were 30% off. Not enough shopping baskets or shopping carts to go around. 99 Cents Only # 143, 1155 East Charleston Boulevard @ cross street Maryland Parkway, Huntridge District of Las Vegas, Nevada 89104. Across the street from Savers Thrift Store and the Huntridge Theatre, behind the Burger King. Really the fault of the US Government for causing all this inflation (and not the fault of 99 Cents Only) - but be aware that many items in this store cost more than 99 cents. The staff have not adapted the signage and shelf price tags so it is nearly impossible to determine how much an item costs. Unless you shop here all the time, which I do (so I know what everything costs even though the shelf markings are incorrect-incomplete-missing). Here is what to do: take everything you might want with you to the check-stand. And watch the cash register carefully. And if an item costs three times what you guessed it would cost, ask the cashier to remove that item. Do this right-then, as you check out. Because returning an item is way too much work. Primarily, this is a food store; however, it is also a variety store. They have a little of everything. Some items are a real bargain compared to the local hardware stores. If you want some duct tape, they have it - if you want a broom, they have it, toilet plunger, yes, etc. This store has an almost impossible time attracting and retaining personnel. So it is nearly always short staffed. Here is what I do: I never shop here during the first week of each new month (way too crowded). Suggest you do what I do - which is to shop here only after the 10th of each month, at which time, it quiets down a little (so only regular long lines of customers waiting to check out). However, if you like waiting in super-duper-extra-long lines, feel free to visit early in the month. Remember that the food stamps are not exhausted until after the 10th of the month. For those of you who are bothered by the lower class, avoid this store. This is homeless central. For blocks in every direction N-S-E-W, the dregs of society make these streets and alleys - their home. Just return a firm "NO" or ignore - when they beg you for money. Lock your car. By the way, resist the urge to respond to the store's constant announcements for you to apply to work here. Working here may be the worst job in the entire world. I truly feel sorry for the staff. Dealing with never-ending lines of customers who are mostly sub-human-monkeys (on the evolutionary chain) must be very frustrating. A side note: This company has the most bizarre inventory system in the world. They will have a bunch of an item available in March and (after they sell out) you might not see that item on the shelf again until October. When they have something, grab it, because you may never see it again - or you might not see it again for many months. They have some items in stock constantly, but a lot of items come in and out of inventory on an irregular basis. Do I recommend this store? Yes, absolutely. Just be aware that my comments about this neighborhood are accurate. I visit here at least once a week. You will find bargains everywhere. If you see something that you like at a nice price, buy it or buy several - because it will not be on the shelf the next time that you visit. Plenty of parking. P.S.: No restrooms or drinking fountains for customers. It does not matter that you can see the locked doors of the restrooms, you cannot use the restrooms. Very poor. This is the second time that I've had an issue with this particular 99¢ store, on Charleston and Maryland. The first time, I counted as a lost and moved on. But yesterday was different, because this time it was my wife who is new to this country and loves to shop at this particular 99¢ store. Long story short, our total amount for our purchase came to $31.97 and my wife paid $35.00 in cash. The cashier name Jessica, claimed that there was an error with the cash register and that my wife only gave her $30.00. When I asked Jessica about it, she laughed. I hope that it was worth it for her. I told my wife that she is never to go back there again. Very unsatisfied and disappointed, but unfortunately not surprised. read more

I came here to look for some stuff. My daughter, mother in law and myself needed to use the restroom. The manager was a freaking bitch. We all went to the restroom to find out the restrooms needed a code to enter the restroom. I asked the manager if she could give me the code and she wouldn't give it to me. She walked me back and gave me attitude. I never gave her attitude. I told her we just needed to use the restroom. All I did was ask nicely. We bought stuff at your store so we are entitled to use your restrooms. When she let in my daughter and mother in law, she told me I couldn't use it. WTF! I have never in my life had issues using restrooms in the state of California. I will never ever step in this location ever again! I agree with a yelper who complained about the manager. She should be fired! I literally got so upset, I walked out of the store. My daughter was with her grandma. I can't believe the attitude she had. I have never ever seen a manager blast me in the face. That is so disrespectful! If only corporate can read this. I will contact corporate and complain. Maybe they can fire that bitch! Won't allow customers to use the bathroom If I could, I would give this store zero stars. On Monday, March 4th, around 11:30 a.m., we were heading back form Las Vegas to San Diego. We stopped at the 99 cents store to stock up on water and snacks for the trip ahead. When I walked into the store, I asked a cashier where the restrooms were. I was told that the restrooms were for employees only. I could not believe that a store will not permit customers to use the restroom. What do you guys expect people to do when they have to go? Relieve themselves right behind your building? This is inhuman behavior. We immediately left and did NOT buy a thing. I will reconsider buying anything ever again from a 99 cents store. Although this location can give off a sketchy vibe, I always love going here to get my household staples and yummy drinks. You can find some amazing items for half the price such as odwalla drinks, individually packaged spam slices, red velvet oreos, & nooma coconut water (which I have become obsessed with.) I occasionally get berries as well, but definitely inspect the packages thoroughly since most are on the verge of expiring within a day or two! I tend to buy a few packages to freeze them for future smoothies. Some of my other favorite staples here include kitchen cleaning supplies, kitchen tools, small office supplies, and my go-to toothbrush/toothpaste travel kit. The store itself is a tad dirty, but it's not really bothersome to me. Every time I go to this store for just ONE thing in mind, I end up walking out with at least 5 other things. The best thing about this store is that you can try new products without having to feel guilty about spending so much. I swear, 2 for 99c nooma coconut water have become my life now... Keep away from checkout isle lane #1 (Liz is her name I believe ..), she's a senior conversation lady with glasses holding up traffic with long talks. It's very frustrating while there's a long line with people in front and back of you when you just want to go in and out hoping for that speedy checkout. Exactly what you should expect from 99 cent store in this neighborhood. I love it, half the cost of anything nearby. If you want better service and better clientele go to one of the stores with double or triple the price. The spinach is fresh and can of tuna with a water, healthy protein packed meal for three bucks. Line can be long or short staff is very efficient no small talk, lots of bums trying to steal so security is on high alert. Get in get food get out, or go pay more money. The 99cents store has come leaps and bounds from five to ten years ago. Now they carry good batteries, medicine cabinet stuff like cotton balls, Colgate toothpaste, Monster energy drinks, tons of quality candy to name some items. When you get near a holiday they are your go-to for decorations, for your work desk or for things like green hats and ties for St Patty's day. For Halloween forget it, they really step it up! We scored some dope masks for...you guessed it, $0.99 ($1.06 after stupid tax). The latest thing I saw was them getting were tons of fruits & vegetables. This is awesome if you juice, you will save so much $! Only place I know where you can get a fat avocado for a buck! We were just at Albertson's and they were ON SALE for $4 for 2! And didn't even look at good! I did notice that it appears the more underprivileged the area, the better your fruit & veggie selection. They really have so much to offer and are worth a stop to see what you can get there instead of Walmart to help pinch a few pennies. Why spend more than you have to, right? read more

Oh the 99 cents only store. First off, things may be labeled .99 but the register rounds it up to an even dollar. Not really a big deal, even for a frugal shopper like me. The biggest deterrent to coming here would probably be the admittedly sketchy neighborhood but there was a security guard at the door who also wandered out to the parking lot so that's a good thing. The store was quite clean and well stocked and even had a few refrigerated fruit items which caught me by surprise. The reason I visited in the first place is because I heard that they carry a very difficult to find brand of potato chips called Poore Brothers out of Phoenix. Now that I've visited though, I can definitely see myself coming back! (As long as it's not night!) read more

You can never go wrong with 99 Cents. Fill your cart and you pay only 20 dollars. Basically you can find anything from food, to cleaning supplies to electrical stuff. You can get name brand products too once in a while. I personally don't love this particular store (Charleston-Maryland). First of all, the store can get a little disorganized and dirty. Second, the employees speak little or no English at all. And lastly, they do get a lot of homeless, strange, and drugged people that makes me a little scared to shop there. read more
