Reasonable prices for everything, pumpkins were half the price of S&F as well as their floral selection which had a way larger selection. Service is also quicker and friendly in comparison. I always come here especially for party supplies or arts and crafts supplies. This store is always well stocked. The cashiers are always nice and very friendly (except for one, see picture). Lines at the register's can get a little long... but they are usually fast in opening more registers when it gets busy. *note... they have very low/none cell phone reception inside the store. read more

This store rocks! The staff is ALWAYS working hard to restock and make the store look great and the music is cranked up enough to make me sing as I walk around getting all sorts of food and household things at a great price. Beyond that, it seems to me that management has taken a solid leadership role during the COVID pandemic making sure customers know what is asked of them, ensuring staff is knowledgeable, and even having anti-bacterial soap at the entrance. I know it may same weird to gush over the 99 Cent store, but the team there has done an exceptional job before and during the COVID pandemic. read more

Always have decent stock compared to some other dollar stores. Lines are usually handled very fast, so not a ton of standing in line.

i was at this store to buy some dish soap. i told the cashier and supervisor that the shelf that the item was on had NO PRICE TAG as is normal since 99cent store is 'mostly' above $00.99 now. I assumed a unmarked shelf means its .99cents. The staff says that')s not true. I am surprised that they didnt adjust the price to .99cents instead of $1.25 plus tax. DON'T GO to this store. they obviously don't care about the customers. i will try other .99 stores and see how they are about the customers. (If that store had price markings on all shelves like the grown up stores maybe they wouldn't have had this problem.) My one big gripe about this 99cent store is that the checkout lines are always so so long!! They usually only have two cashiers and one needs to leave, so it can turn into a real angry situation amongst customers. Other than that...I really can't complain. I come here for so many last minute easy buys. For instance: movie theater candy, car air fresheners, and especially gift bags. Probably the best thing in these stores is the selection of gift bags, party supplies, and tupperware containers. I hit this store up for some bottles and sippy cups for a drinking game I was running at a baby shower. Trust me, it is a good idea. Anyway this place while well stocked had to be about the most filthy dollar store I have ever encountered. This is saying a lot as these places aren't known for being a delightful shopping oasis. The hand baskets need to be scrubbed and hosed down big time. I keep pulling them off of the stack hoping for one that was not caked with goodness knows what. Beyond gross. They had a shortage of push carts. Yes the one I grabbed was gross but looked better than the hand carts. I feel like I don't expect a lot but I do expect to make use of carts to do my shopping. I rarely give five stars for a place, so don't take my rating the wrong way. Having that said, I really like this store. I could spend an hour in this place, and blow a wad of money like crazy. I like to come here for things that i need, that i know it won't really matter what the brand is. For example, cleaning supplies, toilet paper and etc. I also enjoy shopping for unnecessary items as well. So disgusted with the Murrieta .99 Cent Store!! Per the cashier's suggestion, I loaded their App on my phone so I could receive their promotional discounts. So I went in on Saturday to get my initial $5.00 discount for uploading the App on my phone. I spent $56.00 at the store. So I was owed the promotional $5.00 discount that the App promises. The cashier scanned my phone and told me...."Sorry, sometimes the $5.00 discount doesn't work on certain phones. Do you want the $3.00 discount??" So I replied, "No, I want the $5.00 discount I am owed." So at that point she called the manager over and the manager said, "Sorry there is nothing we can do if it doesn't work on your phone." Uhhhhh, what ?? Wrong answer!!! By this time a long line was forming, so I wasn't gonna be one of 'those people' who held up a long line of people for $2.00! But what I will say is that their customer service is horrible!! You honor what your promotion says!!! And if you can't make it work on certain iPhones, then you enter the discount into the cash register manually!!! This isn't rocket science!!! My first time in a 99 Cent Only store in nearly a year and nothing has changed. I'm still wary of their refrigerated grocery section. Any meat for a dollar is suspect. Seriously folks, you should not be buying any perishable items from here. Maybe if you're in dire straits for some carrots or garlic, but I'd stay away from any deli meats or dairy products. Unless you plan on eating whatever you buy immediately, don't do it to your digestive system. The dollar antacids that are also sold here will not cure your ills. What this store is good for is contingency planning and party favors. Do go and pick up some hilarious gift bags or gag gifts. Well, I *was* going to give this store a good rating because I didn't have any problems with the store itself (if you don't count the creepy hall you have to journey through to use the restroom). My problem was the cashier, a hag who didn't even look at me once throughout the transaction. She proceeded to talk to other employees as she lazily rung up my purchase. Not a word was spoken the whole time. Unbelievable! I wish I would've caught her name, lucky her! When she handed me my bag, again not a word or glance in my direction. I held my hand out for my receipt and she placed it on the counter...like really? I said "you're welcome" and walked out. I will never return to this store and I don't recommend it. 99 Cents Only always has all the good stuff for super cheap prices, you can't beat 99 cents for every single item in there! Good place to shop and also a place for last minute misc. things you have to pick up before a trip. My friend and I were on the way up to Lake Arrowhead for a 3-day retreat and we forgot quite a few necessities such as soap, shampoo, hair gel, etc. We picked up some of that, then we wanted to grab a bunch of munchies such as candy and chips so we loaded up our shopping basket with just $20 of candy alone, LOL! This is the best store in it's class! They don't just sell items that are really valued at .99 but many are valued more than .99. Here are just a few things I bought for $.99 here that would have cost 2-4 times as much at regular stores-- Miracle whip (the big bottle ones), they no longer have it. I guess Kraft was just promoting the item. Yoplait's gogurt (12 pcs) no longer there. Probably also a promotion by gogurt. eggs--the medium ones. Yes, it's small but many stores with extra large eggs have many small ones in them too. Italian Bread, french bread brooms, trash cans, air freshener Banana(maybe 3 lbs), tomatoes(1.5 lbs), green bell peppers(3pcs) tools--all kind The refrigerated section is cheaper because they sell many of them in smaller size and quantity. For instance some hotdogs and cheeses are $.99 because they are just 12 oz while in many stores, they are 16 oz. Their flour tortilla are smaller or in smaller quantity. Some canned goods don't taste good. If you're into saving money and have lots of things to buy, come here first before going to other stores. read more

Hey, I like this store. The selection is often times pot luck, and granted, some of the stuff is pretty much worth 99 cents. But you can find some good quality stuff too. I buy my energy drinks here, although the brands are often ones you never heard of, it beats paying twice the price for a can of Monster. This is the only place I have ever found the Jones Energy Drink, good stuff. Also a good place for wrapping paper and gift bags and other items of the sort. One thing though is the checkout lines can be long and slow, because people will often load up their shopping carts to the top. But where else can you get 100 items for about $100 bucks? read more

Super disappointed with this place. I've been here a handful of times, and people constantly follow you around or watch your every move! Every time I moved something they were right there wanting to know what I needed, and not in a friendly helpful manner. Please just let me shop or act like you really care. I was moving things around to look for an item I've found hidden in the back of the shelves before...there's a reason why I look back there now. It's like they don't want you touching anything. This has happened 2-3 times I've been here. My son wasn't even allowed to touch this wallet he was interested in. My son is 8, and very careful with things. Even if something were to break, it's only .99 cents - $3...so let us shop!!! Dang! It's ridiculous and makes us not even want to come here. I just stop here to thanks Drake, because tonight I went to the store, around 8 pm, when I approach to the Cashier in front of me was an old lady with the cart full, really full, and she was sorting her things in front, Drake was the cashier, he call several times for a back up cashier and nobody came to the front, finally the back up showed up, I had already put my shopping on the band, I thought the Lady would finish soon, so she was to demanding with Drake who kindly helped her to put the shopping into the cart, the total was $174 and her credit cards were rejected she was insisting to Drake to go outside and get another cart cause she didn't want her things get damaged, she never care the people behind her, and the Cashier was patient with her, hold the transaction and after 20 minutes I could pass my stuff... was 8:57pm and a long line in both cashiers, thank you Drake again for showing compassion and excellent Customer Service!!! read more

They have (almost) everything. Seem to be out of stock on atleast a few items I come here specifically for. Cant complain, since they always seem to have name brand items I am shocked to see at $1 pricing. Worth the trip every so often to see whats new! I had this Hispanic woman checking me out--and she was in a bad mood to begin with and was upset that i had stuff in their plastic carry-on and asked me to put everything on the counter--I didn't see why my stuff couldn't be scanned from there itself as that container was so small. She seemed so upset with me that she dumped all my stuff on the counter and started double-scanning my items--Ofcourse I noticed that and pointed it out to her. I got her more mad...even though it appeared she scanned correctly after that--I knew she goofed up.So I came home and for the first time--Actually counted all the items in my bag---I had 4 items that I was charged for that wasn't in my bag--Simply said "Misc" on my bill--- I was so mad at her--I called the store manager(name:Nancy) and shared all this with her--Also gave her a description of that Sales Clerk! and Fortunately--The Manager was the Sweetest thing--She promptly offered to reimburse me(Not that I would go back for $4 ) but also assured me that she knew who it was and would take care of the situation..and also Profusely apologized.
