I have been to many 99 ranch markets on the West Coast for decades! This one in Edmonds is close to my area so I go there all the time for years. Always appreciated the variety of food and the competitive pricing here. There is also a bakery where you can purchase Asian pastries and a cafeteria where you can purchase ready-to-eat cooked dishes. It can get quite crowded during weekends but it was OK when we went there on a Tuesday afternoon. According to my mom, she enjoys a 5% senior discount on Tuesdays. In general, this market is clean and spacious. However, it is not uncommon to find staff mistakes such as marked-down prices not showing up when ringing up at the register or you can not find the prices for items on the rack (see pictures as an example) which all cause a lot of confusions. Parking is always easy as there is a parking lot.

Adventured to the 99 Ranch Market in Edmonds on Highway 99 yesterday evening to check it out and get a few spontaneous picks. The parking lot is a shared lot and was well-marked. The entrance was about center under the the 99 Ranch Market sign on the building. Once inside, finding my way around was relatively straightforward and items were methodically sectioned. Fun to see the seafood tanks with live seafood in them. The workers were friendly and professional. I went with a Daifuku mochi aka (red bean cake and a product of Japan), which was located near the Tillamook cheese. The price was $2.59 and it was absolutely delicious. The mochi was soft and thick enough I could taste the mochi and the red bean filling smooth and sweet. I also got Butterfly tamarind candy (Tiao Peng Trading Inc. and a product of Thailand). Price was $1.59. The flavor was intense and made my eyes water in a good way, and the packaging was very cool.

Living nearby, I've had the luxury of accessible Asian groceries all the time. I come by less often these days but I still remember all the great experiences wandering around, finding nostalgic good I've had in Taiwan, stuffing my to-go container at the hot deli, and the amazing bakery that used to (maybe still does) have half off after 7pm or so. It's always a good time here exploring new and old goods alike. They have senior discounts early in the week and now college student discounts Fridays. Ranch 99 (yes that's what I call it) seems to be modernizing a bit as there's also a new mobile app. Great selection of produce, fruits, vegetables, tofu, fish, meat, dessert, cakes, ice cream, bread, snacks, you name it.

Without exaggeration, this is one of the best Asian supermarkets in the area and gives Uwajimaya a run for its money.

The T&T in Lynnwood doesn't disappoint at all. While it is smaller than the Factoria location, we do not personally have any complaints. The place is not always packed like the Factoria location and that is a a relief. We primarily use the food & bakery sections, live fish, and frozen food sections. One can say they are a bit pricier in comparison to places like Ranch Market who have similar options but we T&T is closer to us than Ranch Market and so we prefer to go here as it is more convenient. They are special items during Boat Festival every year and we absolutely love the bun station during this time. This is also a great place to experiment with a lot of not usually found Asian alcohol in main stream supermarkets unless you are specially going to a specialty shop.

There is not as much store space, so there is less selection of everything. I found the aisles to be cramped compared to Bellevue. Even when the Bellevue store is packed, I can meander around the crowds. It felt like a maze at this one on a busy weekend afternoon. There is a 99 Ranch nearby in Edmonds and I do prefer it over this T&T based on selection and price. If you do live close to Lynnwood, I do think it is worth shopping at for the T&T private label products and items that T&T carries that 99 does not. But I am going to stick with shopping at the Bellevue location because it is superior to this one.

They don't bake any in house, but the have a small section of various Lebanese pitas, some Persian barbari, even lavash and taftoon, all from local bakeries. The best part is the Iraqi breads at the front - when I visited on Monday morning, they had freshly bake Iraqi Khubz, 5 for $7.99. I asked the cashier and the baker is actually a local woman who was in the store at the time! They also have samoon on Fridays. I'll certainly be visiting again - this is the closest to Seattle I've found for a place that sells both types of common Iraqi breads.

There are pleeeennnty of desserts to choose from. All looked delicious! We did not get a chance to try their dessert though. Next time forsure! A few downsides to this place. You order food and checkout the groceries all in one spot with the same person who takes phone orders, checks out grocery customers, and takes your food order. All that to say, expect to wait a long time to order and to get your food order, depending on how busy they are. Their service, well rather how long you wait to order and get your food, is really the biggest downside. Since we came 2 hours before closing, they were out of the shawarma which we really wanted to try. We ordered fries and Ali's special, and waiting 50 minutes to get our order. The cashier was really nice and apologetic about it but wow 50 minutes is a long time to wait for food. However, the food did not disappoint! We'll be back to try the shawarma another time but I hope service gets better.

They offer freshly rolled kim bap (vegetarian friendly versions included). Tasty freshly rolled kim bap is a big draw! I recently picked up a tub of fermented soybean paste stew (Doenjang jiggae). I dressed it up at home with additional shrimp and sauteed peppers, seaweed, and steamed rice -- delicious! I find shopping here very pleasant and I love to patronize a smaller grocery store tucked away in one of Edmonds' Asian enclaves!
