Listen, this is a great grocery store. I've been shopping here (off and on) since they opened, and have never had a single issue. I've been to at least two dozen different Asian grocery stores across the Pacific Northwest, and this is one of the cleanest. I was so confused by this store's low Yelp rating that I had to go and read all the one star reviews, and I have to say, they're honestly all petty. One of them actually shows a picture of a perfectly okay apple with the caption "rotten apple." While it is a bit on the small side for a "supermarket," they seem to have all the normal staple items. Since my last review, they've started carrying kaffir lime leaves, and have added pre-packaged meals to their hot dim sum line. As of my last visit (April 2026), it was $14.99 for a self serve 2 item lunch combo with rice and/or chow mein. read more

I haven't come to this Folsom location of 99 Ranch in a long time. I was in the area after getting done with my work assignment near Manteca. I wanted to get some food at the hot deli, cause I remember them having some really good food for not that much money. I get here around 11 am mid week. I wanted to check out the bakery as well and maybe get some custard pies I remember them having. The selections at the deli were missing quite a few items and the food didn't look that fresh. The prices sure went up too. To fill a regular clam shell box was like $15 now! I wanted some of those deep fried smelts, but they said that was only on the weekends. There weren't any fried chicken drumstick deals either like before. They did have wings though, so I got some of those stuffed into my box, along with some short cut spareribs and a little fried rice. lot of empty trays at the deli. Tasting the box of food, it really wasn't that good either, not like before. I was disappointed. The BBQ pork bun selection was not much, just the steamed ones and no baked ones. I did get some roast duck since I was there. I had them cut it up and put it in two boxes. Over at the bakery, I did see these Portuguese Egg Tarts, they looked similar to the Chinese egg tarts, but more browned on top. They came in a box and I was told they just baked them today. I got one box. I'll say, this 99 Ranch location is much smaller than most of the other locations and the selection at the deli is smaller too, I guess they just don't get the foot traffic like the Bay Area or Sacramento proper. If you near one of the other locations, I'd go there. Not as much selection here. read more

I was in the area and needed to get dessert for a party I was going to and decided to drop in on a Sunday afternoon. While browsing the bakery session I saw the Tiramisu Cale they had a smaller size and larger size. I order the smaller size and the person working dropped it.. I had two choices buy the bigger cake or buy a different cake. I decided to buy the bigger cake. Let me say that the cake tasted amazing! Tasted like a dessert I would buy at a fancy restaurant or bakery. Overall I would give this place four stars. I didn't get a chance to browse the store, just the bakery portion. I didn't like though that the person who drop the cake didn't apologize or given me a discount for buying the larger one. I will be back though as 99 Ranch is one of my favorite stores. read more

I am grateful for 99 Ranch in Folsom because there aren't any Asian market options in this area. It has the essentials and no frills. That being said - this location lacks certain unique ingredients. I'm able to find the essentials for Cantonese meals, but it's still missing some things. Hot bar/roast meats - it passes, but not as fresh and hot as I'd prefer. Seafood - it's underwhelming but it passes. Produce - wide variety. The totes are great and sturdy. I will get more of these! read more

Don't expect to find the usual staples, like 10 varieties of peanut butter. But that's not why you come to 99 Ranch Market anyway. Come for the Wall of Sauce!! And not one is Kikkoman's. Come for twenty types of Boba, or the Hong Kong style deli. Everything looked delicious. Hubs is a chef, so this was like his Disneyland. Excellent variety of fish with the mention of source, whether farmed or caught in the wild info makes the choice easier. The produce section is big and offer reasonably priced options. They have hot buffet as well. The sweet ladies behind the counter help you with deals. Overall a good place to shop in Folsom. read more

99 Ranch Market in Folsom is one of our go to Asian markets. They have a great variety, and they have Filipino products as well. One thing the we also love about 99 Ranch is their seafood selection, and fry/steam service is FREE! They also have a deli section, dim sum, bbq and a bakery. We love their mousse cakes. We spent over $150 on Chinese barbecue at the deli today. They gave us burnt pork belly. I'm very disappointed. This is shady business practices. Who wants to eat burnt food? If you were not going to eat burnt food why would you sale it to your customers? It's difficult to actually see what they're doing because the area they used to cut the meat as blocked. Warning: they sell food that are past their "best by" dates. I bought tofu yesterday, on 12/13/25. I was about to cook it today (12/14/25) when I noticed the "best by" date already passed; it was 12/11/25. I don't always cook all my groceries the same day or next day either so it's disappointing that I can't even expect a shelf life of a few days when I buy certain grocery items. A notice or sticker to notify customers when an item has an approaching or past best by date is normal at most grocery stores. This isn't the first time I've noticed them selling past due food so I should have checked before purchasing. Lesson learned. Won't go there anymore. It may or may not be safe to eat still, however, I don't want to worry about whether or not I'm buying fresh items or questionable items for regular price. They need to be more up front. read more

It's an immaculate and organized store. I like this 99 Ranch in Folsom better than the one in Sacramento. Of course, I hope they will open one in Elk Grove. This 99 Ranch store is not as big as the Sacramento store, but it has most of everything I needed for the Chinese kitchen. The employees are nice and friendly. 99 Ranch at Blue Ravine Rd in Folsom have the worse Chinese food if your Asian. My wife bought a little of everything. The roast pork and roast duck were tasteless and bland. I usually like Ranch 99 -- the food is good, the air conditioning is refreshing in summer, and the cashiers are helpful and efficient. However, my recent visit was disappointing. A young employee with long, straight black hair repeatedly berated me for asking a question. Asking questions is part of normal customer interaction, and I don't understand why she reacted with such hostility. While I appreciate most staff and the shopping environment, I would caution that some employees can be rude and unprofessional. read more

Purchase main groceries first then purchase the bakery goods afterwards in a separate transaction. Discounts galore!!! Place has everything a Ranch 99 should - wide variety of Asian goodies, food spots (so happy to see roasted duck, as usual!), rice, fresh seafood, and the list continues on and on. This Ranch 99, however, seemed much cleaner than others I've been to. Definitely will be back for more and hope to return home with some fresh crab or a whole roast duck to feast on. This location is clean and well stocked. Came in one day just to look around and ended up spending around 200 bucks on snacks and stuff. Really good selection of ramen. We also got the viral mango shaped ice cream and it was so good. At checkout they gave us coupons for 2 dollars off and we went to the hot food section and got some of roast duck ie was just ok. They also have dim sum and other takeout that I want to try. There are a lot of choices to chose from and I would definitely recommend this store. read more

I was a regular customer at the Ranch 99 market in El Cerrito (SF east bay) for many years. Always enjoyed my shopping experience there. This much smaller Ranch 99 is a bit of a let down. This market seems old, rather run down and a little forlorn. The bakery section had limited product selection, no pre-made fresh bao. The produce section also did not have many of the more exotic items I always found at the El Cerrito market. The fresh fish selection here in Folsom is also much smaller. But, alas, I live in Roseville where I've yet only discovered one Asian market and the product selections there are much more limited. So I guess an occasional trek to Folsom to buy durian, jackfruit, dragonfruit and other Asian specialties will be on my calendar. read more

Nice bakery items including custom cakes. Younger staff speaks English but older employees speak Chinese only. I noticed there are not alot of authentic Asian restaurants in Folsom. So what is a gal to do?!? Necessity is the mother of invention. I started to cook more. Sharpening up my culinary skills. Thank goodness for 99 Ranch Market. It is my one stop local grocery store for the hard to find Asian groceries. It has a seafood and a butcher counter in the back of the shop. The seafood counter has whole fish, squid, and shellfish on ice and live crab and lobsters in tanks. They even have sushi grade salmon and tuna. The grocery store also has a bakery, hot dim sum counter/takeout deli food, and cooked meat deli counter. Each of those counters have cash registers and you pay there. The dim sum is not that great but not the worse ever either. The cooked meat deli counter has roast pork and roast pork belly sold by the pound; and roast duck, soy sauce chicken, and steamed yellow chicken sold by the quantity. At checkout, they give a $1 coupon for every $10 spent. The coupons are only good for the dim sum and hot takeout food (excluding the hanging meats). My one gripe would be the condition of the shopping carts. They look really old and dirty. read more

Good shopping. They have a nice selection for most items. However, their prepared food always leaves something to be desired. This is an example. Steamed char siu bao. Barely any filling. We've been going here for awhile and just know that the prepared food it will be mediocre at best. I love the selection for noodles, sauces and snacks. read more

Only Chinese grocery in town. Have to like this. Wish it's bigger. Overall it's okay, just don't buy their roast duck, dry and skinny duck for $30. The grocery store is crowded. There are a bunch of plastic racks in between aisles. On the last visit, it took a long time to check out- only three registers were opened. The good thing is that I was able to find the viral ice cream that I couldn't find at the other 99 Ranch. read more

It's not anywhere near my house, but my family and I do go here everytime we are approaching a special occasion and are in need of special items or ingredients. It's a good place and the shelves are well stacked. But the prices are a bit on the high side. So if you're not sure of an item's price, my advise is to hold off - unless, of course, you really are in need of it. This place is quite popular, so parking spaces are often a rare commodity here. And be careful of the drivers that are ordering from a Starbuck's nearby. They have the tendency to block the road, so steer clear of this area, lest you be stuck in their lane. Our visit here was before New Year's, so the obligatory 13 round fruits for the dinner table centerpiece was our main mission of the day. And it was easily accomplished, thanks to the well stocked produce area. The store gives you coupons you can use for baked goods or in the cooked food section. These coupons are as good as cash, and they do give a few of these depending on how much you spend on your groceries.
