One of the better supermarkets to visit. I like how this spot has items from different countries. I typically come here to restock on asian goods, but always end up with lots of delicious items as I walk through every aisle. It's nice to just get everything at once. Fruits and vegetables here are a hit or miss in my opinion. Meat section looks super fresh. I love the (korean) banchans here! Food court has tasty restaurants and a good bakery full of yummy treats. I've been loving KP for many years now until yesterday. I bought a package of cut string beans which cost close to $5.00 and this is what I found. I bunch of cut off edges that didn't belong in the package well-hidden under the cut off beans. Why would you that? To add more weight? People remove those edges for a reason. I love this supermarket so much I could spend a day here. They sell a wide variety of Korean items, but also groceries of different ethnics. From shopping to lounging in the food court area, there are a ton of different options to eat. We often come here since they have suck a large variety of produce and Asian food items. The prices are not bad. We love the different fruits and vegetables. They often have so many that they just throw them in the bins so a lot of the items get bruised and damage. I guess they have so much bulk and go through so much stuff they don't really care about getting the stuff bruised. As you can see in the photos there is a lot of different produce. Best place to go shopping for authentic Is Asian, Hispanic and East Asian foods. I love the wide variety of choices when shopping. There are many varieties of vegetables, Breads , meats and fresh seafood. In addition there is a huge food court with your choice of Japanese, Hispanic, Vietnamese, Chinese even Russian. If your shopping there and plan to shop often get a card to retain points so that you can use towards purchases later. You can get discounts at the food court towards purchases. In the food court there is a Boba place too! If you're in a hurry they have ready made food (sushi, sweet potato noodles with mushroom and veggies.) I try and get exotic fruit that is in season to try. A one stop shop for purchases that would cost a lot at Safeway or Raleys. read more

I visited Korean Plaza for the first time today, and while I was excited about the large selection and variety of products, my experience at checkout was extremely disappointing. The store itself is spacious and offers a great range of items, and I really appreciated the friendly staff member who was stocking fruits--he was very kind and helpful. However, my experience at the checkout ruined my visit. I waited in line as usual, but when it was my turn, the cashier gave me a rude look and just stared at me for about 30 seconds before angrily asking if I was blind and if I couldn't see that it was a "15 items or less" line. I was shocked by his attitude, especially because the sign was only visible at his register--not from where customers line up. I politely explained that it was my first time at the store and that I hadn't seen the sign, but instead of handling the situation professionally, he rudely decided to check out other customers before me. When he finally rang up my items, he refused to check out my sisters, who were with me and had been waiting in line as well. They were forced to go to another register and wait an additional 30 minutes to check out. To make things worse, when I got home, I found that the cashier had removed my meat from the bag, causing one of the packages to rip and leak all over my groceries. The same thing happened to my sister with the fish she purchased. This was a very disappointing experience. I was excited to shop here, but the rude treatment and lack of care for customers' groceries left a really bad impression. I hope the management addresses this issue because no one should be treated like this. read more

This is the place we normally go grocery shopping any time of the day and any day of the week. It has all the Asian groceries my family need, asides from the fresh produce and meats. It also has a fresh bake section, a liquor shop, jewelry, and beauty supplies. If the time inside the store has got your grumblies in the tummies, there's a food court serving international food with a lot of seating space, and a sit-in Korean barbecue. The plaza is now a far cry from the small grocery store it started out with... The grocery is very clean. The stocks are always replenished throughout the day. Or if there is an item you need that has gone out, you can always ask the staff who I have always found to be very helpful! There are a lot of items in store for different nationalities. Seems too be a catch all for Filipinol, Chinese, Korean, Jpnse, Thai etc, plus a European side for groceries. On the Asian side, groceries seen to be mainstream items ( i was hoping to get some junk food but the korean and Jpnse were light). My expectations are too high from SF Bay Area, but i can see myself appreciaring this as a local resident....another meh moment was the ambience:Dark and industrial. If you need an ingredient for just about any international cuisine, chances are it will be here. This place is EXTENSIVE! I imagine they must have just about anything you could possibly need. The challenge is becoming acclimated enough to be able to find it! I've recently begun a lot of Korean cooking and this has been the go to place not only for ingredients that I can't find at my local grocery store, but also serving ware, dishes, and cutlery. Be prepared to spend hours in this place. It is huge like a Costco and time will easily escape you once you enter. There is a food court attached that has Chinese, Mexican, Japanese and Korean fare. Haven't tried any yet, but I often see a lot of customers happily noshing. Some reviews have complained about prices not being particularly cheap, or food being close to spoiling.... but I would argue that I don't come to this grocery store for a deal but rather to find less mainstream items that I need. Also, be a diligent customer and read expiration dates and inspect your produce well before you buy. In a place this huge, you do have to be more conscious of the lack of roll over on perishable goods (I have this same challenge with Costco). read more

WARNING: DO NOT SHOP HERE. Bought a couple drinks to drink inside the food court here. Then me and my wife took our drinks back into the grocery to drink while shopping and as we where paying for our groceries the Mexican lady at checkout criticized/ accused us of not paying for the drinks because I told them I didn't need a receipt earlier for 2 dollars worth of drinks. She accused us multiple times of stealing the drinks as we were buying groceries. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I NEVER NEVER will be back. read more

One of my fav giant Asian markets around! Bad thing for me is they are in Rancho Cordova and a 25 mile hike each way for me. They have all the Asian goods you want, Russian and Indian/Middle Eastern too. UNREAL. This place has it all. I have compared and they have some of the best veggie prices in Sac. area. However, it is so crowded it is hard to shop the veg. area due to the small size of it. I usually leave my cart and walk to each veggie and then return to my cart. Less intelligent creatures just push their carts and play bumper cars with them. To each there own. Teehee! Anyways, great seafood area. They will fry it for you while you wait. They have samples to try like Costco/Sam's. Like Udon or potstickers...yum! I have not purchased Russian or Indian goods other than basmati rice since when you go there after Asian goods, if you peruse all the Russian/Indian goods you will be there ALL DAY. Seriously, this place is massive. I have to plan a time to check out the Russian stuff. They have a Russian meat counter also. Super cool. Ok this place has a food court (very high priced), Korean BBQ rest., Karaoke and nightclub spot, boba drinks and a Korean skincare store. Amazing destination spot. They want to make it a one stop with so many stores you can shop there. My wife and daughter like the Skincare shop. I love the udon, dry noodles, ramen, meat, seafood, veggies, kimchee in a big jar and Asian goodies in the grocery. They ran an article in the Sac Bee when this opened like 5+ years ago and he wanted to cater to not just Asian but Russian too as Rancho C. has a lot of melting pot of these cultures in the same area. I found this market since I moved to the Sacramento area. It has the best Asian food selection in the area. I do miss the hot food selection from Bay Area from the local H Mart. I wish KP will have more selection other than their kimbap and jeons. The staff are very helpful when you ask for their help. They have best beef selections outside of Costco. read more

Moving from Bay Area to Sacramento, not many Korean stores to compare but KP carries all the essentials you'll need and more since the store has a great international variety, So you get more out of your one trip to the grocery store, one thing I Wish is that they had more fresh Hot pot ingredients (like Hmart chain). I usually do not buy Vegetables from Asian stores as they can be a hit or miss but each time here we have found that they are clean and mostly fresh and cheaper than other places. Have to make sure you walk down all the Isles because they Usually have great Deals . Nori is always cheaper here than at Costco . The food court is great, fair prices, fast and DELICIOUS. I usually am very disappointed by most restaurants Kimchi Jigae but this food court one is AMAZING, very flavorful and bold and full depth of ingredients just how Mom would make it. Oh my god. If you can forgive the occasionally rude security guard upfront, this is the mecca of asian and european foods, and the absolute holy grail of food source for beef meat and produce. NOWHERE ELSE in Sacramento can you find such good quality, INEXPENSIVE A.F. prices on beef meat. This is also THE place to find your chinese eggplant, peeled garlic cloves, THAI BASIL (yaaaas girl, make that Thai Eggplant Basil Stir-Fry, your own!) , Avocados that are often on some amazing sales, really good store-made kim chi, inexpensive marinades of Bulgogi... and that is not even counting the food court (which boasts THE BEST deal on Bimibap. If you love Bimibap, you MUST try the Bimibap from the food court). This place has a HUGE confectionary area. Imported candies from Russia, Ukraine, Lebanon (a few, not a ton but a few) , even Turkey. This place has everything you could ever want, out of ONE shopping trip. Believe me I love to support local businesses but it's so hard when their prices are so high. I take advantage of this store whenever I am in town. I can buy anything from Persian spices to my Filipino spices. They carry Korean, Japanese, Russian, Indian, Mexican, South American and American (im sure im missing some) food items. Their veggies, fruit and herbs are always fresh! You can't beat their prices either on their produce. I'm pretty boring when I buy...Japanese eggplant, Thai basil, bok choy, onions, and curry leaves. Today I picked up Hawaiian yams and Japanese potatoes? Never seen them before so I thought I would try them out. I fellow shopper explain to me on how to pick them out. Thanks gurl! I really like this store, but recently I have had negative experiences with them. Usually the produce is wonderful, however, recently I purchased some napa cabbage to make kimchi and discovered live worms inside. This made me suspect of other produce. Now I check everything more carefully. I finally decided to buy whole fish and have their fishmonger prepare it for me. I bought two Branzinos and asked for them to remove the guts, head and tail, then fillet the fish. When I brought my fish home and unpackaged my fish I found the worst job filleting possible. It honestly looked like he simply chopped the fish up. The full spine and all the bones were still in the meat. My fish was no good the cook as fillets, so I just made fish stock from it. I will never trust their fishmongers again. read more

I asked one of their workers about an item and lady had no idea on the product and just walked away ..hey now. Where is the Natto??? hmmm another person looked at me and said what is that? ummm okay. You can find veggies here , baked goods, freshly made tortillas and a bento take out. walked down the Ramen aisle and sauces so much choices. I like the idea of this place because it has all the Asian groceries I need and also has Nature Republic and restaurants. However, everytime I come here, every employee in the grocery section has been INCREDIBLY rude. So I only come here if I'm in the area and it's convenient. One specific incident, my three year old was looking into the water fountain. He reached out to try to touch the water and I told him no. As he was pulling his hand back, the security guard roughly grabbed his arm and shook him. I reiterate, my son did NOT touch the water and was already pulling his hand away and then got SHAKEN by the security guard. We complained with the manager who reviewed the security cameras for us for proof. They were great and apologized, but still, my son left with a bruise around his bicep from the guard. Not only that, but pretty much all employees here are rude with the exception of maybe one behind the bakery counter. But that's rare as every other employee behind that counter is also abrupt or discourteous. My advice is that if you must come here, come prepared to get exactly what you need to get in and out as quickly as possible. Also, as other reviewers have stated, don't visit the boba tea/ice cream shop as the quality is disappointing with your drink either wrong, forgotten, or not mixed. read more

Came here with my friend recently. Loved exploring the place and finding neat new items to add to our lives. They had the place well-stocked and it was pretty busy at the time we went. They have a large produce department, lots and lots of frozen items, and aisles dedicated to so many Asian and Asian-inspired products, from hoisin sauce, to instant ramen, to prepared fresh foods, to Japanese candies, to spices, and on and on. The newly remodeled supermarket is awesome! It's huge and has a wide selection of ethnic foods available. It is definitely cleaner than those asian supermarkets on Stockton Blvd. These are the top reasons why I like them so much: 1. Russian bakery - great prices and delicious snacks. The pastries are flaky and perfect. I've had the spinach&cheese, feta cheese, beef, and hot dog&cheese. All delicious! The cake slices are new to me.
