This feels like the smallest 99 Ranch Market location among all others in the Greater Houston area, probably because the aisles are narrower and the lights are dimmer. It carries all of essential Asian grocery, just like any similar competitors.

Trying the hot bar for a 2nd time. Opening weekend was mid..: let's hope it's better months later. Ok. It was better. Decent food but I'm not running back here. Btw, there was a boba shop in there that the wife got some. Not worth it. Boba sucked.

I love the Stir-fry meats (Pork or Beef), fried eggs, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and mayo sliders from this location. They're usually sitting in plastic boxes next to the bakery register. I've never seen them at the Katy or Blalock locations, so can't vouch if they are available there. If you arrive around lunch time, you may get them when they're being freshly prepared. The meat filling was pretty warm that time. Since they're intended to be prepackaged, don't expect to get them hot. They were on sale for about $5 for the (2) sliders or about $8 to get the sliders and a free drink (preselected fruit juice or tea of the day). The Har Gow (4 pcs, from Hot and Ready section) is usually okay at the different locations. We picked these up after 2pm on a Saturday, so the outsides were a little drier than usual but still had a really warm and bouncy shrimp filling.

This newly opened location was the talk of the town recently, offering some awesome grand opening specials over the opening weekend. I visited the week after to avoid the crowd, and I'm glad I did. First and foremost, some of the aisles are a super tight squeeze. The layout is not great at all, and it can be frustrating trying to navigate the aisles. There is one cafe type eatery within the store that sells some tasty looking combo plates and street snacks. If you go towards closing, they offer some BOGO discounts. I did see some pretty neat items like crepe cakes and other goodies. Bought a bag of chicken legs for $.49 a pound which was a steal. Not an awful place, but definitely not as great of a store compared to the 1-10 location. I would just avoid going during prime time. Also, there's no place to park your cart after unloading it. This creates quite the situation in the parking lot.

Today is the grand opening day, Saturday December 16, 2023. My foodie friend found an event on Facebook and tagged me with it. Sure, I'll go. I heard about WoW (West on West) mall as it was building few months ago. I wanted to check out the mall anyway. Mind you, 99 Ranch Market is a very big Asian Supermarket chain across the country. This is their 62nd store since it opened in 1984. So, why would you use Pacific Time in Houston while the schedule is in Central Time? I was not happy. We got here 2 hours late. That's no excuse. Walking around in the store, besides looking at the crowds picking up special priced items like a mob. I looked over the craziness and focused on the store layout. Again, 99 Ranch is a major supermarket chain. They should know the aisle width by now. We've been through covid pandemic. The passage in the seafood area to Hot Deli is too narrow. It only fits 2 shopping carts side by side. Can't even squeeze a young child between them. Same issue at the end caps by Cold Deli section. I really wanted to talk to the management but everyone was busy setting up a fish cutting presentation. I'll give them a try next year.

Grocery shopping is a full day experience. if you're lucky enough to find a 99 ranch market in your hometown, I highly recommend you go and check it out. It is known for their popular Asian products and very huge selection of sauces, marinades, meats and treats. I love exploring new things and when I was introduced to hot pot this was the place to go and get all your essentials. They have a huge selection of everything to make hot pot from the veggies to the meats to add in. Every aisle was filled completely and fully stocked whether you're looking for vacuum, sealed mushrooms or marinade for your meats or seafood, dry or wet, herbs, and spices. Every aisle was full of things that if I had all the time in the world, I would look at each and every single product one by one, but that would probably take me about two weeks. I was very impressed on their selection of fresh seafood. I will tell you that if you do decide to get the seafood, they are not allowed to give it to you still alive. They will help you debone in the scale all fish products wrap it up for you and give you a little bag of ice so you can keep it cold on your drive home. Also, they had a huge selection of beverages to choose from whether you were looking for a coffee drink, milk, fruit juices, flavored tea & fizzy drinks. The selection was over the top I was very overwhelmed and wanted to buy it all. Some weekends you will find someone cooking some of the items either from the freezer section or from a difference aisle in the store where they will have an advertisement for a sale on it and sometimes you'll get something free with it. This trip they were sampling steam buns, which is a rice bun filled with meat and a sauce and it steamed with water, then served with a dipping sauce if you want. Sold as my son had his first bite and went back for more. The buns are super tasty and delicious. It only takes a few minutes to steam on the stove top. This is also the place to go if you are a huge rice eater. They have a few different types of crops to choose from and they are marked with the year it was picked. I didn't need any help with anything but there was plenty of employees there to assist you if you had any questions. I will say from past experience most may not be able to communicate very well but will definitely try to get some one to help you. The store was super clean and it was just opened n January 2025 with a huge Lion dance to celebrate the grand opening. There was always someone stocking the shelves and putting products into the freezers or fill up the produce. I will tell you the person that does the produce does look at them to make sure that none of them look welted or damaged and if it is they replace it.

Its REALLY cramped in there. I went on a soft opening and was surprised at how small the isles were. Even on a regular day at the market, its stuff to the brim with stuff. This makes for uncomfortable shopping since everyone is shoulder to shoulder. Unfortunately I attended the grand opening. The opening acknowledgments were horribly done since the mic kept on cutting in and out making for an awkward experience. There were a place for people to line up, but of course, being Asian, lines are just suggestions. At the end people just flocked to the entrance like mad people, walking and running THROUGH the lion dance. SMH. You can see from my pictures that Asian aunties and uncles have their shopping carts ready to mow people down. Lady next to me got pissed off at some photographer uncle that thinks he's official and walked through the taped off area and into the performance area. So cringe and embarrassing. I'll come shop here when the hype dies down, its just a grocery store after all. Mostly the Asian aunties and uncles are out of control.

Love that I have another 99 Ranch to shop. It's smaller than the Mason location but I like new buildings and it has a very nice layout. I got some takeout food at the deli and the container they use is more sturdy and nicer but the portions are smaller than I'm used to at the Mason location. They have great deals on rice, Sriracha , scallops and etc. Their bakery & cafe smells so heavenly good. We got a great goodies bag for a certain amount you buy that consists of three different types of ramen noodles that I really want to try but never purchased and sparkling drinks and snacks.

My usual Ranch 99 we frequently visit is in Austin,TX. Maybe because this recently opened... they didn't have a lot of stock. I noticed that this store had an "empty" feel to it. Not as many selections as the Ranch 99 in Austin. I think they need to fill it up with more variety of Asian goods and supplies. The ambiance is so nice and new. I do hope they can bring more things to it becomes more of a Ranch 99 experience I'm familiar with. The Ranch 99 in Austin had hot pot meat slices prepped for purchase, sashimi, so many varieties of frozen goods, different types of ramen noodles, and so much more.

    On sale, $1.39 per bag.

The latest addition to the 99 Ranch Asian grocery chain. The interior was clean and organized. It was not crowded at all during my shopping. Prices were similar to other Asian groceries. Employees were friendly and helpful.

I stopped in for a few items, and I wanted to check out the new location. It's smaller than both the Mason and Blalock locations. I do like their seafood selection and produce. Both were fresh and reasonably priced.

This market is one for the largest Vietnamese markets I've ever been to, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits, frozen foods, dry goods, imported sauces, sweets and more. I particularly love their extensive rice paper selections. My favorite is the "no water" rice paper, which doesn't require dipping in water to roll up like traditional ones. Unfortunately, this type of rice paper is available at every asian market so I'm happy Tan Binh has them. They also have a nice section dedicated to ready-to-eat and hot foods. You can grab and go with options like fried fish, tofu, and cooked meats. Customer service is usually pretty friendly. Just like anywhere else, you should check the expiration date of every product before buying. My cousin forgot to do so and bought two boxes of solar dried bananas that were expired. And during the warmer seasons, they set up a nice plant and herb section for sale right outside the entrance.

The location is checked out ok. Comparing those 2, I like this one better. But not the best one in Asiatown. I wouldn't want to drive all this way for something. I normally hit up Viet Hoa Supermarket on the other side of Beltway. The store is clean enough. Aisles are not always clear. Stuff was all over the floor and blocking the aisles. The shopping carts were all over the parking lot. It's not about what the business did but the customers left the charts wherever they want. I just wish there is a collection point. I have major issue of language barrier with employees here. All signs are in Vietnamese. I had to use Google Translate app for everything. That's too much. I added one star because they have breadfruit. That's a rare item in Houston.

It is rarely crowded, extremely dated, and has nearly non-existent customer service. It is also often mistaken for its neighbor with an extremely similar name but completely different experience. (#1) There is a bit of a drab feel, not because the market isn't inviting or bright, but because it feels so different compared to other nearby markets who have lower prices, more staff, more selection, and far better decor. Additionally, the cramped layout isn't helping their cause. That's not to say what they have to offer isn't worthy: their roast meat section seems to be popular for catering and meats for takeout. The produce isn't particularly great but the meat section seems to have been extensive enough for the elders to buy (various) parts for home cooking. Everything here is slower. The checkout, the perusal from patrons, the staff, even the carts are slow to be returned. While I applaud them for serving the locals, I do think there is a lot of room for improvement. On weekends, traffic can be pretty crazy and parking isn't easy since everyone shops then. However, if you come on a weekday especially outside of lunchtime--it's much easier to find a parking spot. Inside 99 Ranch, there's a food court with options like San dong noodles, dim sum, stir-fry dishes, and Chinese barbecue.
