Just ate at my first 99 in Springfield mass. We are from PA and chose it over Applebees. None of the food was very good and the bill was horrendous compared to the quality of the food. Glad we don't have one near our home. Absolute a waste of money. Even the chicken Cesar salad my daughter got was terrible. What an incredible let down after a 5 hour drive. read more

A few months ago we were seated in the bar area at the Chicopee location. It stunk like a club at the end of the night. Not very good for a dining area. My chicken tenders were overcooked quite a bit, and not enjoyable. The waitress was nice, but they need to clean the place up and not overcook the tenders. The one in Westfield is much better. I'll go over to Applebee's in Chicopee instead, tonight. I wanted to go back to 99 for the Lobster specials, but I'm all set. I don't trust it. Also, these places need to upgrade their booth seats. They have mostly flat cushioning from wear and tear, and uncomfortable. If they want people to get out faster, that's not the way to go. read more

We stopped in at the 99 in Chicopee for dinner on a Wednesday night. We were seated promptly and given a bowl of popcorn. I forgot they gave out popcorn. Yay!! Our server came by shortly and took our drink orders, bookers bourbon smash for me. It's been on the menu for a while and this iteration was well made. For dinner I had the stuffed shrimp with broccoli and rice. The rice and broccoli were good, as one would expect them to be. The stuffed shrimp (there were 6 I believe) looked as if they may have come frozen but were pretty good. 99 is a good spot. read more

It has been a while since I visited a 99 restaurant. I swear they used to have a larger menu. I order the 8oz sirloin and grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes and a salad. Salad was great. Shrimp was as well, mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes. The sirloin was the most flavorless steak I've ever had. Very thin, but they did cook it medium rare which was difficult due to the thinness of the cut. I'm not sure what I was expecting, I hoped better than Applebees which was my only other choice. There was a highly regarded Indian restaurant close to my hotel which recently decided to close on Tuesdays, alas. The shining light on the evening was the wait staff! Everyone I had was great. If you look at the plate, the grilled lemon at the top was refrigerator cold. Must be prepared in batches who knows when. read more

I had some time while waiting for my wife to be done with work so I stopped by 99 to get a bite to eat as I had missed breakfast and prior night's dinner. I was seated promptly. I'll start with the good. First and most importantly was the server, Grace. She was amazing, attentive, and polite. A true pro. The restaurant itself was nice and tidy. The men's room was clean. The food- I ordered two appetizers- meatballs and moons, and an order of their pretzel bites. After those set a bit, I ordered the fish and chips. The meatballs and mozzarella moons were really good. The meatballs were a little salty, but overall above average. The pretzel bites were average, a little overcooked. The spicy beer cheese sauce was a bit too spicy for my palate, the mustard sauce was okay. I ended up using the marinara sauce from meatballs and moons. The fish and chips had great potential but fell short. The fries and coleslaw were tasty and nicely portioned. The fish looked great but was very underwhelming. Albeit very crispy, lack of seasoning made it bland and nondescript. Would I eat there again, yes, would just order something different. Grace really made the experience acceptable. One thing that really bugged me though and it seems to be a trend is the suggested tip calculation on the bill. For good service, I usually tip 15%, for extraordinary service, that number goes up to 20% or higher. For poor service I leave less than 15% or zero. The new trend is that 15% is no longer calculated or even listed. 99 restaurant had 18% as a suggested minimum. read more

Called yesterday to say I had a party of 8 and wanted to come in for lunch today. I asked if they could have a table ready for us with room for a wheelchair. A large, comfortable booth/table was set up when we arrived. Hostess was friendly and accommodating, and our server, Jaiylin, was attentive, friendly, and efficient. This is my second time ordering from 99 with DoorDash delivery in the last month. I must say DoorDash is excellent. Last time I ordered I called the restaurant because there was no option on their website to make any changes to my order. I was able to order with the person who answered the phone. I called today and was told I had to order online, which I did. There was no option to change my order. My bad! Didn't really give it much thought. I ordered a French dip, which listed for $18.39. I placed the order online. No option for changes other than my side. So I actually got what I ordered to my dismay. I would've wanted to delete the cheese and the onions which I had no option to do on the website. I wished that the person On the phone was able to take my order like last time. This order ended up costing me $33+ for an $18.39 order. Very disappointed. I called the restaurant once the order was placed and asked for additional beef dipping, not thinking about the cheese and onions it came with. Again, my bad. I was told it would be done, with the extra beef juice, but I never received it. Very disappointed in this restaurant. Will not order again from them with delivery. read more

This was my second time at the restaurant but first time at this location. This location was really clean, employees were really friendly, but the food didn't have any seasoning at all. Appetizer- My son ordered a appetizer. He love cheese sticks, so the cheese sticks were shaped like a moon. He really really enjoyed them. Entree- My son had a steak, broccoli, and mashed potatoes and he didn't enjoy it. He ate 1/2 of the steak because he was able to use steak sauce. The potatoes and the broccoli, he left. I had shrimp, potatoes and Mac and cheese. I don't eat bacon so I sent the Mac and cheese back. The potatoes had no seasoning, so I put some on it. I ate the majority of my shrimp and some potatoes. We both had strawberry lemonade and it was delicious. If I had to do it all over again, I would get the same entree except the sides. Maybe a side salad. read more

I ordered a Steak flatbread along with a margarita. I saw the cooks place my food in the window and I waited over 15 minutes as my food sat in the window and got cold. My drink service was very slow and the bartender Zandra was rude and inattentive. After waiting about 10 minutes for my margarita, I finally received it. I finished about half of my drink and inquired about my food, and I was met with an attitude problem from the bartender. She told me that she had a lot more customers that had bigger orders than me and were spending more money, which basically told me that I wasn't important enough for her to check on my order. When I said that I saw my food being placed in the window 10 minutes prior she rolled her eyes and swore under her breath. It sounded like she said the "N word". This was my first time here, I was in town for business. I was seated immediately which was great. I started with a local beer, and then since I'm in Massachusetts, I went with the colossal lobster roll. It came with soup and I ordered the seafood chowder. The soup was decent, not bad, not great but it was ok. I just got back from a vacation in Oregon and every place I tried clam chowder or seafood chowder was excellent. So maybe I'm holding suck soups to a higher standard then usual. If you get the soup I doubt you'd be upset. But it won't wow you, the flavor was pretty light for my liking. The lobster roll and sides came out. It's hard to rate the lobster roll. When it first came out I thought it seemed small. But between the sides and the bread it's very filling. My first lobster roll I expected more. It's good, if you like lobster it's very good. But honestly it just tastes like they put lobster on a toasted bun (how could that be bad?). I did enjoy the sandwich. Just thought it would be more. It was served with melted butter dipping sauce, which I enjoyed all of. The fries were good, nice and crispy, they seemed to be homemade. Honestly to my shock, the corn was my favorite part. It was really good, not sure if it's because I love corn so much or what. But it was very sweet and seasoned perfectly. I could have eaten 5 bowls it was excellent. I would definitely come back here if I'm in town and try some other items. Terrible terrible terrible service. Walked in there yesterday with my daughter at 2:40 and was brought right to a booth, where we sat and sat and sat and sat and sat for about 25 minutes before some girl comes over and whispers apologies. So we say no problem and she asked us what to drink we told her what we'll have to drink she asked if we wanted popcorn, we said sure. 15 minutes later she comes back with the drinks and no popcorn and a couple menus. Told her never mind the menu is because we already know what we want because we've been sitting here for 3 days.... she gets that written down and comes back approximately 30 minutes later with our loaded tater tots and boneless wings, that's it..... So I politely asked her if we can still have the popcorn she offered,.,., or is it too late..? She said sure I'll be right back with that popcorn. I told my daughter watch her come back with the popcorn when you're done eating, well I lied to my kid because she never came back with any popcorn. If this waitress is looking at this review you are the absolute worst waitress I have ever come across. Over the past week we ordered takeout twice because of covid and not wanting to eat in. Order burgers both times. Requested well done and the first time it was rare but I was able to eat it. Wednesday night I ended up throwing it away as it was way too rare for me. My son in laws burger was the same. Unfortunately when you do take out its not like you can send it back to cook more. Went here for dinner and drinks on a Thursday while running errands, the bar wasn't too busy. My sister and I ordered wings and wedge salads. We saw the wings were somehow done before the salads, they sat on deck until the salads were done about 10 minutes later. When we got our food the wings were cold by that time and when I looked at my wedge salad, there was a huge hair in the dressing on top. I expressed my disgust and they took it back. They served a new one but still charged me for it. I've been to every other 99 in the area and have had better service and never an experience like this. Never been to a place where they serve popcorn instead of chips, nuts or pretzels and I thought that was cool. I liked the service and the food. I had the seafood choweder which I felt was tasty and the right texture. I also had fried chicken dinner. Delicious! Perfect seasoning and so delectable. ok - I am shocked as anyone that I gave a chain spot 5 stars .. we were on our way home to Cleveland OH after a week in Bar Harbor ME and needed a spot to eat before we got major Hangry .. so we pulled off the highway to give this a try .. needing meat after a solid week of seafood I ordered the chicken fried chicken and the husband had the balsamic glazed chicken .. both were outstanding in terms of both portion size and overall taste .. the service was not at all over patronizing and just the right amount of friendly .. just what we needed after hours on the road .. now I wish we had this joint in the CLE ..
