I had an open house across the street one weekend & stopped in for java to go but had to settle for it at the bar because there are no to-go cups. no biggie. Next day I encountered a different bartender. Friendly face red head guy who is really nice and attentive. Great conversation & welcoming vibe. Had a brew & some fries_cant really mess that up. The place had a few people, reserved, moreso than the place I am accustomed to in the area. Not a bad thing. Different vibes but not negative. I had a good experience here! The open windows near the sidewalk are cool & I can watch sports. Really favor the wood decor. I'd go again to try that brunch menu. read more

A bar that deserves me coming on Yelp and leaving a review. 99 Rogers is a staple, for what is an "ever changing" Crown Heights. The food, the drinks and music make for an absolutely perfect environment that suits everyone. This place is clean, cool and the perfect mix of what the neighborhood used to be, and is becoming. Pretty cool spot, good food! The waitress was very friendly,definitely will come back here again. However, I think they need more staff that will balance out the amount of people that are in the space. The service was a bit slow. I did find it odd that it was 25 dollars for a steak that was pretty small, nonetheless, my overall all experience was good and I would recommend that if you're in the area you should try this place out. read more

The food is fine. The service is so bad that it is a running joke with my friends. Everyone is at best hungover and at worst totally absent. I guess you could say that it's less that it has bad service and more that there just isn't any service. The plus side is that by the time you eat you will be very hungry and all food will taste delicious to you, and they make a very fluffy omelet. read more

If you so desired, you could effectively live at this bar. They have booze, they have food, they have wifi. On Monday they have a $6 beer and burger special, the burger isn't huge, and the beers you can choose limited, but it's still a really great deal. One of these with some fries, you have a meal. On Tuesday they have a taco night, where Coronas are $3 and chicken tacos $1, on Wednesday they have a slider night, a beer and a slider for $4. Brunch is great too, happy hour prices are great. This is probably my favorite watering hole in the neighborhood. read more

Solid bar food, margaritas and service... most of the time. "Taco tuesday" is the exception: while the $1-$2.5 / taco, $5 margs, $3 coronas seem nice, the tacos are tiny and inconsistant, and the service is sooo bad (not just slow and understaffed, but very rude and unwelcoming). If you do go on a Toozeday, do yourself a favor and sit at the bar. Like I said- Tuesdays are the exception- go any other day! I had been wanting to try this neighborhood spot for a while, so when a friend was visiting from out of town I thought it was the perfect time to go. I called to inquire about their hours since it was a holiday weekend and I was treated so rudely by the person who answered the phone (who hung up on me in the middle of me thanking him) that we decided not to go. Not worth it, we have been to 99 Rogers 3 times now. The first time they took only cash and had only beer, no big deal, but the bartenders didn't know much at all about the beers. The 2nd time they had an AWESOME menu, however 45 minutes after ordering we left without ever getting our food. ( there may have been 12 people in the place at the time) Aside from that the waitress didn't know anything about any beers we asked questions about, We ended up going elsewhere. The next time we went the menu changed to just bland boring run of the mill bar food. When we asked the bar tender why the change he told us to go around the corner to Catfish if we wanted good food. So we did and have no plans about going back to again. I was really hoping for a great beer bar in the neighborhood.....guess I have to keep waiting. read more

This place has amazing potential. The wood is beautiful, and the open air is great for he neighborhood. The beer list is solid, and there is a generally good neighborhood pop in sort of vibe. So I usually don't write reviews, in particular bad ones. This is my first on here and I plan on writing a few good ones to make up for having to write a bad one. Working within the industry has made me very untrustworthy of Yelp, but this was just a really bad experience. I came in with a friend, another met us here, at 99 Rogers, to watch the Broncos Game. They had a decent amount of beer on tap, and it was a very nice set up. I actually really liked the set up with the bar, though could find it difficult to run on a busy night by oneself, though I assume they have more bartenders on those nights. No table service which seemed odd considering the amount of tables they have and that the advertise food too. Anyway we order our drinks, paid/tipped, and then proceeded to get ignored. Not only ignored, but we had each asked for a glass of water since had been drinking earlier and didn't want to go overboard. The water was not given, and when we respectfully reminded the bartender he rolled his eyes and proceeded to only get one glass and go back to hanging out with his friends, some of which I believe are other bartenders here. Now the bar is set up as a L, and his friends/coworkers were chilling over there. One of them, this girl with a shrill voice, kept having phone calls. So not to bother her friends she goes to the other end of the bar where myself, my friends, and another group of gentlemen are hanging out. She then shouts on her phone for fifteen minutes, repeating this every half a hour. It seems more important for her to not bother her friends than to bother customers. She could have just gone outside like any respectful person. Normally this wouldn't be an issue since it could be a stranger/customer. But this girl was one of the bartenders and should know better than to do that. Or if she wasn't a bartender she kept going behind the bar to get things so I'm assuming she worked there. Then our bartender offered us shots, putting glasses down. Then doesn't pour any, and takes them away ten minutes later without a word of reason. While I don't care if I had a shot or not, it just seems really odd and rude to offer something and then take it away? Why did you offer it in the first place? When another table asked him about it, since he did this to another group, he told them he already poured them, which he didn't do. We were sitting near them and saw. Overall a strange experience. It doesn't help that I've seen this bartender around the neighborhood and he has only shown disrespect and the like in every interaction me, or people I know have had with him. Perhaps he is unaware of anyone save himself, perhaps he doesn't care much about other people, either way his experience has made me not go into this bar, and inform those I know not to go by. Perhaps I am overreacting, it has been on my mind for a bit, considering the other interactions I've had with this person. I will not be going back here, and recommend, considering the other bartenders I saw, others do not too since they all seem to have no consideration to those they are serving which should be an important facet to someone working the bar. read more

Great local place to watch all the football you could dream of without too many bros or crowds. The cocktail I had was surprisingly good, something with grapefruit juice in it. The spinach artichoke dip was also really good and arrived quickly. I felt that the drinks were more expensive than they should be at a neighborhood sports bar, so I didn't order a second one, but I guess that's the price I pay for not having cable and watching all my sports at places like 99 Rogers. I'm a huge Mets fan and gave up cable. My team made it to the playoffs this year and this is where 99 Rogers comes in to the picture. There aren't too many "sports bars" in this area but I'm so happy this spot opened up otherwise I would have to go outside of my area to watch these important games. I really appreciate the chill atmosphere here as well as being able to hear the game audio unlike some places where they are blasting music while you're trying to focus on a game.There are 5 decent sized flat screens to watch games and has a nice wooden decor. They have a nice selection of draft and bottled beer. The food I tried was very delicious although the portions weren't large but good enough to fill a hungry stomach. The bartenders are very attentive and cool people. I'll definitely be back for more Mets games and I encourage other Met fans to check it out. read more

Came on taco Tuesday. What a great deal! $1 chicken tacos while others are $2.50. I got 2 hard and 2 soft chicken that were tasty and you get multiple bites per taco. I love this place. I live in Crown Heights and I have been with numerous people and I feel like I like it always more than anyone else I take there. Maybe it it is because I cannot get enough Pearl Jam & Audioslave jams or maybe it is because it is super divey. It is the perfect spot when you just want to go somewhere and have a few drinks.
