Done and done, ring the bell!

I'd never join, but it was AWESOME! I cannot justify paying for organized chaos. But I did sweat and I did feel like it was an adequate workout for just thirty minutes. I appreciate what they are doing and going for, but it just isn't where I'd put my disposable income. But plenty of people are. The place was packed, even though it is small. The gist is there are 9 stations, each station is 3 minutes. You get a warning at 2:30 for the last 30 seconds, but this is also where they explain the next workout, while they still want you to workout until you hit the 3 min mark. Then they offer an 'active recovery' for 30 seconds and everyone in the room does the same movement the coaches call out. Its loud. Its chaotic. Its crowded. But its cool and air conditioned if you care about that. There are tons of coaches milling about to assist with movements or direction. When you walk in there are cubbies to your right and some seats and the sign in desk to your left, along with lots of logo'd merch to purchase. As a first timer, you need to sign a waiver. This is all done on the computer, but it was never reviewed prior to my workout. I am currently having knee issues and listed that, but none of the coaches ever took that into account. Luckily, I can modify on my own, but what if a customer didn't know how to modify their workouts? There wouldn't have been time to really show them with how chaotic it gets and how your coaches/trainers change so frequently. All of the coaches/trainers were really nice. They did what they could given the time constraints and the amount of people in the small space. I understand why some people would like this place, I truly do. Maybe because we were newbies, they were going easy on us, but everyone's workout was slightly varied. As Adele, one of the owners, told us - no workout is the same. That was evident by different people doing different workouts. There are signs posted at each round, but half the time we did something different. And while also people watching, people were given hard tasks at near by rounds. I get that these people must have been coming here for awhile, but still. I want a challenging workout. I sweat plenty, but I don't need much to sweat. I want to be challenged, just like anyone else who walks in - paying or not. Anywho, if you have limited time and want to waltz in when you please and hop in a workout, then this is the right environment for you. Its pricey, but it matches prices along the Grid. They offer a student and State employee rate, so make sure to ask if you fall into either of those categories. They seem to be doing something right, cause it was packed before, during, and after our workout. I can totally dig a spot that lets you try a workout for free for the first time. It's fun to experience new places and coaches around the Grid. Diggin' it even if its not for me...

Absolutely loved the eight week challenge for $199 comes with gloves, hand wraps and a bag as much as I enjoyed my time there I chose not renew my membership because of commitment issues on my part!lol. And even when I was charged right after my eight weeks for a month to month membership accidentally I emailed paige and she kindly gave me a refund when I noticed it taken out of my account she was very kind and helpful so I appreciate that!

I liked him and the sessions he put me through, although he cancelled several at the last minute. In late December, I agreed to prepay him for twice a week for the month of January. He cancelled the first session and then failed to show up at the second. After he failed to show up, I received an email from him telling me that he was leaving the area for a week or two for personal reasons, and he would contact me to reschedule when he got back. That was eight weeks ago, and I have heard nothing from him since, even though I made repeated efforts to contact him. I now realize I am out over $500 for sessions I prepaid that I will probably never receive. It has been a major disappointment.

After a few sessions with Mike (couple's sessions specifically) I was already noticing muscles being worked that I had never worked before. Workouts were tough, but never too much for us to handle. He pushes you, motivates you, and definitely keeps it interesting. He fits a ton of different exercises into a 45 minute session. Our busy schedule required a 'before work' session and it has done wonders for my energy and alertness throughout the day. The two day a week training sessions along with his comprehensive diet goals really helped me to lose the weight I set out to lose. After 2 months I had lost 20 pounds. After 3 months of training with Mike, I feel noticeably stronger, healthier and happier. He's made a believer out of me and I can't recommend him enough!

Roof top basketball court is always available. I've even attended a birthday party here for my nephew and we ran some basketball games and enjoyed the lounge area on the top floor. Can't say enough about this gym. Lots of mirrors to catch every angle of the work I put in. I would highly encourage everyone to sign up for a trial and see what you think of this location yourself. When I first walked in, I immediately noticed all of the natural light coming into the room. It really added to the outdoorsy ambiance. The employee at the front desk was super friendly and was quick to get me set up. As for equipment, grabbing shoes was easy (pulled them out of the storage cubes to the left of the front desk), and they provided a harness as well. I'm not sure if the staff normally does the walkthrough on tying a proper knot, since my friend and his friend did it for me. Nonetheless, I do like that they have that area separate from the main climbing area. Helps to take the pressure off a little bit if you're new. There seemed to be dozens of different climbing paths to choose from, with signs at the bottom indicating the level of difficulty. I found that particularly helpful since, as a newbie, everything looked hard. Also, the people I observed and interacted with on the floor were extremely friendly. Really great vibes coming from the community here. The pricing, based on information from my friend, seemed reasonable, since it included the gym and classes. However, I live in Elk Grove, so I probably will stick to visiting this place only now and then. Recommend giving it a try, though!

First and foremost, Kristin is a wonderful trainer. She is kind yet assertive, friendly yet disciplined. She's a great motivator and I always leave class exhausted. Each workout is unique and challenging. Even more importantly, Kristin is a fantastic person. I've run the gauntlet of the "hard-nosed" trainer to the "here's the workout, you do it" type of trainer, and Kristin falls right in the sweet spot. She is approachable and outgoing, yet she makes sure that you work hard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kristin to anyone looking for a good kick in the rear to start your workout journey.
