    Not too long ago, circumstances necessitated we find an automotive shop in place of a fabulous one we patronized for years. Upon researching, decided to check out A1. We're Very Pleased this is the one we selected! That, all too illusive element, of being able to believe the business is being straight with you, really exists here. As with anything these days, no way they can make it inexpensive. But; speaking as an official cheapscate, it's my belief, that, though costly, they endeavor to do best they can on charges. Wholeheartedly Recommended

    So I will start this review this way this is my friends spot that he showed me. As a madder of fact he loves these guys. I constantly have to help him move one of three vehicles over to them to do work. Every time we go every one is so nice. And I myself have had some work done here too notch work with kind friendly people. Plus any time you go there you know you're going to have a photo op with a cool old school ride.

After that repair, my check engine light suddenly came on--even though it wasn't on before. The first shop told me it was a problem with the mass air flow sensor and tried to charge me to fix it, which didn't feel right to me. So I decided to come here for a second opinion, and I'm really glad I did. The mechanic took the time to properly diagnose the issue and walked me through everything step by step. Within about an hour, he figured out that it wasn't the air flow sensor at all--it was just a blown fuse. That alone saved me a lot of money and potentially from being overcharged elsewhere. What really stood out was the honesty and communication. He explained clearly what went wrong, didn't try to upsell anything, and made sure I understood the situation. On top of that, he even aired up my tires for free, which was a nice touch. Fast, honest, and affordable service like this is hard to find. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this shop to others.

Unfortunately, when I arrived, Carson was heading out for a break, so I had the displeasure of working with Langston at the front desk. Langston told me that Carson had given me the incorrect quote over the phone, which was fine; I just said I would go elsewhere for cheaper. When I told him this, he responded that his prices are the way they are because he uses quality parts. I asked him if the part would be aftermarket, and he said "it's Japanese." That didn't answer my question, so I asked him if the brand was Denso, and he said "yes, that's Japanese, right?" Aside from my interaction with him, I saw Langston being rude and giving attitude to my guy Carson after he came back from his break for no reason at all. I ended up going elsewhere to get the job done with the same Denso part for $100 less (close to the original quote that Carson gave me). Moral of the story is that I don't trust Langston, and I certainly don't like how he was treating Carson. Maybe he was having a bad day, but his attitude today was enough to make me question coming back here in the future (which is unfortunate because everyone else here is really kind and patient). My experience was called to book on Monday morning, quoted the price based on easy to describe work and an appointment for Wednesday at 8AM. So I adjust my schedule and am ready. No show, no answer calls or texts until a call at 930 - where he apologizes for issues on Tuesday and will show up at 5PM. Fine. I'll adjust my evening plans too. An organized person would have adjusted plans and communicated Wednesday if they had issues/delays Tuesday. Then, at 2PM calls back and says looking more like 530PM. And then he says... oh? Did I give you a price already? Oh that's actually a lot of work and says it'll actually cost 60% more. That was enough to call it quits. While I can't speak to his mechanic abilities, he fell short on: 1) being able to accurately understand and estimate work before quoting, or worse, stick to his quote when he gets busy 2) ability to plan his schedule and communicate reasonably. I hope he learns from this and other experiences and reaches his potential through better consistency.

It was not. He was wedged in there for 12 hours with no food, no water, and zero litter box access. He was absolutely losing it. I ran through every option. Fire department? Busy with the actual chemical explosion rattling all of OC, fair. Animal control? Ghosted me. My cousin, currently out of the country, tried Tesla Roadside Assistance through the app. Tesla's answer: their technicians are not trained to rescue animals. Noted, but deeply unhelpful in the moment. Two other mechanics passed too. Jesse was my third Yelp attempt and my last real option. He showed up within two hours, no fuss, and got straight to work. He tried everything - the frunk, underneath, removing the right wheel - methodically working different angles for an hour and a half because my cat had chosen the most inconvenient possible position to be chonky in. Jesse stayed patient the entire time and got him out safely. My cat is home. He is fine. He is completely unbothered, as cats are. Jesse showed up when nobody else could. That is not something I will forget. Oh, and his prices are insanely reasonable. If you need a mechanic who will actually show up and problem-solve, Jesse is your guy.

    This review is a little past due but I decided to finally do it because I feel I should keep others…read morefrom going through the same trouble I am right now... earlier this year I had an accident and needed to have my front left control arm replaced I looked all over on yelp and came across this company and since they had good reviews, I decided to give them a shot because of the convenience. Nick showed up three hours after he said he would, and didn't bother to call.. also didn't answer when I tried calling him, luckily I hadn't left work yet because he finally just randomly shows up. Takes a look and says I need a control arm and end links for the front seat bar. He goes and orders them and says he would be back the next day... he never showed up and wouldn't answer his phone. He finally shows up the next day(again just randomly showed up). Thankfully once again I was still there at work... he showed up in a pickup truck that was his personal vehicle because "his work rig was in the shop". Ok no big deal.... he does the work and I ask to test drive it before he left. The steering was really loose and unresponsive. Also there was a clunking sound. He said he had to go and would be back to work on it again. Next day driving it back to work to meet nick as he requested, steering was really sloppy and unsafe. Nick never showed and never answered my calls. I took it to another shop and had them look at it. He forgot to replace a couple bolts and put the wrong control arm in. After a few days, I finally got ahold of him and told him and he swore up and down he would never forget to put parts back. And that he got the correct control arm. He said he would be back to check his work and never showed. I was never able to get ahold of him again Fast forward a good few months and the car is in the shop having the front control arm replaced along with the front sway bar and the end links he forgot to replace yet charged me for. So now I am down $400 for the wrong part and missing end links that he never installed and another 500 for parts and labor for the new auto shop to do the work correctly. I really wanted to like this company as I love the idea and convenience of the idea, and nick really was a nice guy, but man I really got screwed by these guys... I'm really tempted to look into what I can do legally at this point. I hope this review helps anyone else that is looking at going through this company. Also, before I'm told the same as the others about contacting drivers directly, the number was the one listed here on yelp and have documentation to prove so.

He was super patient with me (I am not automobile inclined) as we tried to diagnose my issue over the phone so that he could give me an accurate quote. I truly believe that any mechanic I have ever met, including my own brother, would have found a way to shake some coin off of me before helping me solve a problem, but Nick was up front about the prices (more than reasonable) and knowledgeable, giving me some troubleshooting ideas and a few options to best accomodate me. I won't bore you with the details (I have a small leak in my hydraulics), but I appreciate that he didn't insist that I make repairs, like a doctor or a dad would do. And he wanted to know how my troubleshooting worked out, calling him back either way, like a date dropping you off at your house and waiting for you to turn on your porch light to make sure you're safe. Anyway, this might sound weird, but I am actually looking forward to my next automobile issue because I want to give Nick my business. I trust him completely, and you don't hear many people say that nowadays. :) Thanks, Nick!!

I found Francis through an online search because of the many positive reviews, and during our first interaction he was friendly, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. He ordered the part directly from Acura and quoted me a fair price. My car was ready the following day, but when I arrived to pick it up, Francis informed me that my vehicle had been involved in an accident while in his care. He explained that another driver had been speeding through the parking lot and crashed into him. He gave me the other driver's information, and I contacted him immediately. The other driver gave a very different version of events. He stated that he was backing out of a parking space and did not see Francis. He also told me that Francis provided his driver's license information but refused to share insurance information. Now, more than a month later, I still have a damaged vehicle and have not received insurance information from Francis despite multiple phone calls, text messages, and outreach from Mercury Insurance. I trusted this shop to take care of my car, not return it to me in worse condition and leave me responsible for a $500 deductible. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability and urgency. Francis acted as though this situation was not a major concern and repeatedly assured me that the other driver would "take care of it," which has not happened. According to the other driver, Francis even asked him to change the story about what happened. I chose this business because of its strong reviews and the image Francis presents, but my experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I believe customers deserve honesty, transparency, and responsibility when their vehicle is in someone else's care.
