The group at A1 Air Duct Cleaning did a great job doing a first time duct clean in our somewhat large (3800 sq ft), somewhat new (built 1997) house. Aaron and the team was available and able to set up a cleaning without scheduling issues. They worked for about six hours total with only a brief break in the middle. After comparison shopping a fair bit, we found their price the most competitive to clean all the ducts in our house without any additional services (no chemical sanitiziers, etc). The service was friendly and respectful of our house and family, clean, and let me take a look at their work, showing me where the filters in our attic were located for future replacement. Based on the photos they showed us and our visual inspection it appears they did a great job, accessing the vents from multiple locations with their large vacuum and many long brushes. We have a longer than normal dryer vent that runs down and under the slab of the home to an outdoor area (20+ feet), so it gets damp and attracts lint. These guys came in with all the correct tools, and cleaned it out in less than 20 minutes. The clean out will last at least 2 years based on past history. Price is very reasonable. Highly recommend A1 Air Duct Cleaning if you're in the Los Angeles area and you need your drier vents cleaned. Very easy and flexible to schedule an appointment, and very professional and friendly over the phone. On the day of the appointment, they called about 15 minutes prior to arrival to let me know ETA, which is very much appreciated. Zach and Jacob were both great and finished the job quickly and efficiently. They let me know of some of the issues they ran into, which were present because of the original installation, but they fixed those to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, there was a rattling sound in my drier after they left, but they came back the same day to check out the problem. They weren't able to fully solve the problem, but they made it much better and let me know that it was actually a problem with the drier itself, not the vent work they did, and they showed me exactly where it was. They could tell I wasn't totally satisfied, so the owner (Aaron) came back himself and thoroughly checked it out. They did make the problem basically go away, but it was still slightly rattling. They did not charge anything extra for this extra time and effort for a problem that wasn't really theirs. Here's why I'm giving them 5 stars though. Not only did the owner personally come back to check it out, but they wanted me to give them an update about what I found out from a drier technician so they 1) know what the problem is and 2) confirm it wasn't something that they caused themselves. This level of care and customer satisfaction is really hard to come by, and I will be making my appointment with A1 in a year to get another drier vent clean out. read more

Searched for an air duct cleaning company after living through months of home renovations. Because we were still occupying our home, running the HVAC was a must - Especially the last couple of months when temps were over 100 degrees for weeks at a time. We thought it best to have our HVAC / ductwork cleaned to hopefully eliminate, but at the very least, greatly reduce the amount of recirculated dust the last several months of construction have created. After speaking with 3-4 different duct cleaning companies, comparing cleaning methods / tools (they use both rotobrushes and air whips), we ultimately chose Aaron and A 1 Air Duct Cleaning. He was knowledgeable and friendly over the phone and able to accommodate our schedule. On cleaning day, Aaron and Zach arrived and explained the process one last time and got to work - 12 registers to clean as well as inspection and cleaning of the main HVAC unit in our attic took approximately 3h (including their set up / pack up time). They were efficient, mindful of our newly installed hardwood floors and if they happen to create a bit of a mess with dust/debris that was not immediately collected by their vacuum, they made sure to clean up before moving on to the next room. Aaron helped me fix and clean the dryer vent. I had 2 other vendors come in and look into the vent. The first one cleaned it but only from inside. The second one tried to clean from outside but instead got the cleaning brush stuck in the vent in efforts to open the flap on the outside of the house. Aaron not only helped get the rod out, but also went above and beyond to uninstall and reinstall the flap on the other end of the vent (outside of house) by climbing inside the attic!
