I only had contact with the older guy. He came to put in new knobs and bolts. (This a few years ago.) He good with the power drill and technical stuff but his lack of customer service was something else. I was close to where he was working but he claimed that I was in the way though there was plenty of space between us -- and nothing obstructed him. If he thinks that I will do something else in my home without me watching him -- he better think again. I do not take kindly to being griped about being in the way in my home when the facts are otherwise. I marked 1 star since I am not able to mark half a star. I do Not recommend him (having some law students with legal pads around witnessing things could help). read more

We have been using A-1,since 1997. Terry is always helpful, and is very fair and reasonable in his pricing. He does a great job. We would not use any other locksmith. He is always polite, and gives the extra effort to do a professional and lasting job. He is the best. read more

Wish I could give more stars. Terry has done work for me over the past years and has ALWAYS been reasonable and precise. He is a busy man and always on the go with clients.. He made a special effort to help me when I came into town at the last minute and he worked around MY schedule and not the other way around. I would not use anyone else to be honest and will be sad to see when he retires. read more

Condescending, unorganized, unprofessional... I am a teacher and I pride myself as someone with a great deal of patience, tolerance and kindness. That being said, I was verbally abused in both of my interactions with Terry. The first call we spent 20+ minutes hashing out my project on the phone. He continually interrupted me and made feel like I knew nothing about my house. He seemingly took down lots of notes, reluctantly gave me a bid, and then told me to have my hardware in hand and call him back for an appointment. I should have never called back but a friend was helping me pay for the project (and suggested we use him) so I persevered, bought what I needed and called him back. Within the first few minutes he made me feel like an idiot again, couldn't find any notes about the project we'd discussed and asked me to walk him through the whole project again so he could give me bid. Needless to say, I'm going to use someone else. read more

The one star is too high. The owner and his son are not to be trusted. I parked too close to their drive way in the rear of the building and the first thing the son said was that he would back into my car if I did not move it and he got really mad when i did not so he started to blow rubbish on my car. I had owned a car lot at 3131 east Sprague right down the street in the past and the father was always rude when I needed service after the first time I used his service. He had quoted me a price and when he finished (yet the car was not back together and his electronics were still hooked up) the price was about 5 times the amount and he would not put the vehicle back together until it was paid. I was afraid he would do damage if I did not pay. Regardless over time I went to give him first dibs on any time we needed the service of a locksmith and he was always rude. He never got our business again even thought we gave him the benefit of the doubt. read more
