I don't usually take much time to provide reviews but this place gives me very mixed feelings. First thing, the property is very clean and well kept, a little creepy when you're on the floor alone but that's beside the point. When I came to check it out there was a very nice man named Kevin who was very helpful, showed me around, answered all my questions and helped me to decide on this facility to store my things. Then, we went to the office to do paperwork and that's where I met a very condescending, rude, thinks he knows more than all of his coworkers, speaks over them in front of customers, and did I mention RUDE person named Chris. I felt terrible for Kevin because instead of helping him all he did was embarrass him. The elevators are nice, and the place appears secure, but when a family heirloom was taken, their cameras didn't cover the area and they said their hands were tied. So what seemed very secure, wasnt so secure after all read more

Just closed out my rental. Hands down best experience with storage rental I've had. Facility is so neat and clean. Customer service is great. For the first few months I dealt only with Chris and he is awesome! Always friendly and he even remembered my space number when ever I came in to pay. A few months in and I met Kevin when I came in. Like Chris he is awesome representative of A1 self storage. If you need storage go down and ask for Chris or Kevin. I will definitely be back if the need for storage arises. read more

Conveniently located. Easy access even on the 2nd floor storage. Great customer service at the office. They allowed me two weeks of reservation before actually renting it out. This helped us with budgetting the rental. The free first month was also awesome. read more

I used this storage place for over six months. The staff was just as friendly and helpful from before I picked my unit to the time I moved out. The restroom was always clean and helpful when I needed to use it. The hallways are automatically well lit and there were always at least one cart available for moving my things. The first time I called today the gentleman named Chris was very nice very helpful and very professional. I appreciated the fact that the price online is the same as what he quoted me over the phone, I appreciate the fact that the price online was the same as what he quoted me over the phone it's nice not to have a gimmick to buy online. A lot can be said about storage locations that are not typically positive. Being someone who has moved several times when I located to the Bay Area, I have found myself needing self storage on more than one occasion. The stress of moving is enough of a hassle, but the folks over at A-1 make everything effortless. Even on the outskirts of downtown San Jose, this location is kept clean and safe. The employees here greet you wth a smile and are incredibly willing to help you, show you around and make it very easy to make the moving process simple. Even answering emails and phone calls diligently and professionally. I never felt guilt tripped when I had to close my unit and the process was so simple! The prices are fairly reasonable as well. I can't confidently say that next time I need storage, I'll be coming back to A-1. read more

It is a great storage, very nice and clean. I liked the fact it is very cool and air conditioned inside.

I would give this place 5 stars, but when people stole the carts and dollies, they changed the policy to you have to turn your ID in to get a dolly, making it very inconvenient. However, they did change that policy back so perhaps that is reflective of their responsiveness to customer feedback, so good on them. Further, when I signed up, it was super easy, as I did it online the night before I was moving (so I needed a space fast!). I got a space on sale, 10' x 15', for $30 the first month then $179 monthly, so I thought it'd be in like the back corner on the 4th floor far from the elevator, but it wasn't at all. It was on the second floor just around the corner from the elevator, making it easy for me and my people helping me move. And the best part was, when I showed up, there was a staff member, Andrea, who showed me around and directed me to my space. She was kind, friendly, and super helpful. I'd definitely rent here again if I ever needed a storage unit again. read more
