I saw the sign (are you singing?) and decided to explore. One of my artsy bucket list things to try…read moreis quilting and I figured a small, local shop might offer classes and guess what?!?! Of course they do! I perused their shop, loving all the quilts, aprons, kids dresses, cloth baskets and bags that were displaying their patterns and kits. Checked out some of their fun fabric prints and bought a couple pieces of lace for not sewing purposes. I chatted up one of the ladies- maybe the owner? She loved my cat shirt and earrings and we were sharing our kitty photos with each other. I will be checking out the classes and hope for some fun Halloween sewing projects! Because I would be ALL ABOUT that! They asked how often I sew- seriously, for costumes mainly. But I can learn, and I used to sew with my mom as a kid. Looks like a fun shop to play!

I am giving this business 1 star solely on the owner Paula. She is hot and cold. Some days you walk…read morein and she might smile other days she will just ignore you which is quite irritating because you have spent thousands of dollars on machines and fabric in her shop. Her rudeness is irritating. The only reason I continued to shop there was for her employees Laura, Amy and Cheryl. Mainly I continued to shopped there because of Laura, she has a fantastic eye for color and was always willing to go above and beyond to help me with fabric selections or issues with my machine. She is a quilter and was always so encouraging to try new patterns and techniques. Many times I would call ahead and ask if Paula was in before I headed to the shop. In my opinion she treats her employees like dirt and her customers rudely as well. Laura, my favorite employee resigned recently. I will not be returning to Paula's and I have several friends who also will not return now that Laura is no longer associated with this shop. There are other fabric shops in Jacksonville and a Bernina dealer in St. Augustine who is 100% better than Paula.

I dropped my son's backpacks, lunchboxes, and polos to be embroidered with the school logo on 7/16. With previous experience working in an embroidery shop, this process seemed very rushed and not personal at all. Tell them your name, pick between a block or cursive font, and color choice. Didn't ask me about placement, how big I wanted the name, etc. I was told 2-3 weeks turnaround time and that they would call me when it was done. I knew I had plenty of time before the start of school on 8/10. Yesterday was the end of the 3 week mark and I called to get an ETA on when it would be done. The man that answered the phone asked for my information and then came back to tell me it was not ready. I questioned why as this was at the end of the quoted timeframe. He then went into telling me that they embroider for 5 schools and everyone wants their order ready. What does this have to do with me? He also made a sly mark about people waiting until the last minute, which I did not given 2-3 weeks turnaround time would be ready before school. He was incredibly rude, with a smart tone and wouldn't give me any answers. He just kept repeating "we will call you when your order is ready." I asked him if I should call again tomorrow and his response was "no, do not call tomorrow" in a horrible tone. I then asked him if he could look up when I dropped it off, he placed me on hold and after 10 minutes I called back. Seems like he just wanted to get rid of me. A girl answered the phone the 2nd time and was able to tell me it wouldn't be done today, but would be the following day. This is all I was needing was an understanding of when my order would be ready, not to wait for a call!!! I get that they are stressed during a busy season, however as someone who is going off of what I was told and spend $140 I would expect a much higher level of customer service. My husband just picked up the order and the font on the backpack and lunchboxes are LAUGHABLE!!! They are so small, and not at all where I told them to place the names. You can barely see them over the graphics and I pointed to much bigger font size on the paper sheet. The backpack was marked with a piece of tape (not a white pencil) so I'm sure it was ripped off. I'm so very disappointed in this experience and the quality of my order after spending so much money. I've received better from the mall embroiderers! GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
