Nice guy. Responds fast, but I didn't use his services. We spoke on the phone, he explained what could be the cause of the problem, and quoted a troubleshooting fee for coming to the house. Yes, the other reviews are correct in that he's on the expensive side. You can find other electricians that are more than half the price with just as many years of experience. Hope your emergency doesn't occur on a holiday because he'll charge extra for that too. Maybe the quality and expertise justifies the price, but at the end of the day, most people who aren't millionaires just cares about the power being back on. read more

Can't say enough good things about Eddie at A 24. My electricity went out in my living room and I went downstairs to look at the power panel I really couldn't tell what was wrong. So I called A24 on a Sunday in the morning. Eddie not only answered the phone, he helped figure out what was wrong. Photo of the panel and text it to him, had me go upstairs and check some stuff, back downstairs and then he finally figured out what switch needed to be turned back on. I called the electrician on a late Saturday morning when we partially lost power in the kitchen due to a blown circuit breaker. Eddie answered the phone. He arrived on time, i.e., within the timeframe he set, which was about two hours later. He replaced two circuit breakers, the one broken and one failing, and cleaned corrosion from the circuit box. He gave important heads-up information for potential future issues and worked very efficiently, finishing in about an hour. I'd give him ten stars if I could. read more

One day recently around 9 PM, I had the main breaker shut off at my house due to some electrical short, and it would not flip back on (it was stuck in the off position). I had no electricity at all, and plenty of work I needed to complete over the next couple of days. I called 11 electricians that night, hoping someone might have a 24-hour service and could charge me to come out and fix it. Only one person answered: Eddie from A 24 Electric. Not only did he answer, but he talked me through the process to reset my stuck breaker, spending 30 minutes on the phone with me, patiently, and talking me through this whole situation. The most incredible part of this call was that he was on vacation overseas, eating breakfast in another country, when he answered. When I found out he was on the call I tried to apologize and excuse myself but he really wanted to help me fix the problem before I hung up. By the end of the call, my power was restored and he did not ask for a dollar for his time. Few companies would ever provide this level of service, even for a fee. The fact that he was so helpful, after hours, and on his VACATION no less, speaks volumes about his character and business. Eddie is fantastic! A long winded, short story. I searched google for doorbell repair, called and Eddie answered. kept searching, different number, Eddie answered again. yikes! He knows I am shopping around. I sent a photo, he told me his price, I questioned, he told me he would be be out and fix it.and he was true to his word. At first, I thought this guy is either arrogant or confident! I went with confident. I sent photos, we went with a window, he called the day of to let me know he was early, we started and hour early and done before the window started. Eddie is meticulous, as his card says, clean shaven, respectful, well dressed, has a few good stories, beyond efficient as he has what he needs to complete the job. I asked Eddie for a quote to wire a kitchen. He let me it would cost somewhere between $15-25K. I put Eddie in the "expensive" category when it comes to electricians. I don't like to spend money I don't have to, so I'm going with someone else. That said, he is very polite. I do believe his work is solid. You often get what you pay for. This guys is NOT an electrician! He is totally incompetent and has no honor or conscience! He is a crook and a scoundrel. He ripped our family off by coming in and charging a stratospheric fee to install 2 basic cameras, a light in the garage, and a simple thermostat. He installed a front door camera incorrectly ruining the appliance and forcing us to spend extra money to replace it. He never connected the cameras so we had to hire someone else and pay separately to replace the broken part and hook the cameras up. He wasn't even capable of installing a thermostat! It was so pathetic! He actually had the nerve to watch YouTube videos for an hour in our presence because he was clueless on how to do it! Even after wasting the whole day, he didn't do the job and the stratospheric fee went to cover an installation of the garage light. read more

Had a electric switch in garage that was audibly making a sizzling noise when turning on or off so i quickly went to yelp and looked for an electrician and luckily found Eddie/A 24 Electric! I explained the problem to Eddie and sent a picture of the switch that needed replacement. He stated that he could be there between 4-5 pm which was fine with me but awhile later i got a call from Eddie stating that he could be there by 2 pm! He promptly arrived 15 min early and quickly went about replacing the switch quickly and efficiently. When our power went out on a Sunday night, Eddie was quick to answer our call and offer to help us free of charge over the phone. Thankfully the issue we had was simple enough for him to diagnose and give clear instructions to fix. He was also forthcoming about the cost of the alternative (an emergency in home visit which will have cost quite a lot). I'll be using their service again if needed. read more

I wish I had read more reviews before hiring Eddie. Unfortunately I didn't get to the ones about him overcharging. I hired him to provide and replace 2 outside motion sensor lights, repair an outdoor junction box and replace a dimmer switch in one of the bedrooms. All simple stuff. He was there for 1 hour and 45 minutes and charged $1680. That includes $95 dollars for a dimmer switch and $45 for an LED lightbulb. He didn't list the price of the the outside lights on the invoice but assuming they were $80 each that is $1360 for labor - or about $700 an hour. He charged $295 to show up (and $65 for travel) and then $295 for each thing he did, no matter how small eg replace a dimmer switch. I was so stunned I paid him, but then I began to feel very ripped off. I texted him and told him that and he called. He reduced the price to $1000 and said he would send me a check. The check never arrived. I texted him again. This time he sent me the $680 via Venmo. I still ended up paying $1000 for a job that should have cost far less. It also caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. Not recommended. read more

The pluses. Eddie came out on a weeknight with almost no notice. He was very helpful, and did a great job. He fixed an electrical malfunction that could have been serious. He was such a nice guy and I greatly appreciate his promptness and his skill. The minuses. Expensive is an understatement. Just to make a "house call" in the evening was over $600! On top of that, there was a "travel charge." Ironically, the cost of doing the work was less than the house call and travel costs. I was over the proverbial eight ball and had no choice but to have an electrician come out - but wow, the cost of having him come out on a "rush" was shocking. The conclusion. If there was a 20 start review, I'd give it to Eddie and his business. Electricity went haywire at my house. Anything with a motor stopped working. The washer turned on and all power in the living room went off, plus I smelled burnt wire. It was scary. I had one electrician come out, nice guy, but it was clear he wasn't sure what the problem was. So he just suggested changing a bunch of stuff and gave me a pretty high estimate. I contacted four others, NO ONE answered their phone, and as I write this NONE has yet responded to my call. Then I found Eddie here on Yelp and called because of the reviews. Oh, my God! Answered the phone. Inside of 5 minutes - over the phone - Eddie diagnosed the problem! Within two hours, the issue was fixed. (btw, none of the things the first electrician was going to do would have resolved the issue) On top of all that, Eddie is not a money grabber. He is more than fair, he is kind. Thank you Eddie. We realized the refrigerator in the garage was not working and tried to troubleshoot it. We have a lot of extra food in the freezer so needed to move fast. It turned out the outlet was dead so we tried to reset it and flipped the breaker. Nothing worked so we called Eddie who requested a photo of the main panel. He called me back a little while later and walked me through a series of steps and voilà, the light turned green and the refrigerator started humming again! All of this free of charge! It's really nice to know that there are still good people out there that will try to help out of the kindness of their heart. Eddie seemed like a genuinely nice guy and we are so appreciative.
