After today's incident, it honestly doesn't surprise me that their ratings are so low. Two days ago, my sister purchased a cute summer dress for her birthday. When she got home, she realized she needed a larger size, so she came back to exchange the exact same dress for a different size. The cashier refused the exchange, claiming there was a small makeup stain near the neckline. My sister explained that the stain was already there when purchased and that she simply wanted the same dress in a larger size-not a refund. I had the receipt at home since it was a gift, but the cashier also stated that without the receipt she could not honor the exchange. My sister asked for a manager, who initially refused as well, again blaming the stain. When I arrived, I explained that we had literally purchased the dress there two days earlier and nobody had mentioned or checked the stain at the time of purchase. The manager then smugly and reluctantly agreed to "let it go this one time" and told us that customers should inspect items carefully for stains before leaving the store. I responded that the retail team should be just as responsible for checking merchandise instead of immediately blaming customers. What made the situation even more frustrating was that my sister grabbed another larger-sized dress directly off the sales rack, and when we checked it closely-surprise -it ALSO had a stain around the neckline that the cashier failed to notice. So apparently customers are expected to catch every flaw, while staff are not held to the same standard? Who is to say that perhaps Uniqlo intentionally puts stained clothing on the racks to avoid refunding customers??? The cashier even turned her name badge around so we couldn't see her name to include in a formal complaint, which felt incredibly unprofessional. Eventually, the manager apologized after we pointed out how poorly the situation was handled, but it did not feel sincere at all. So customers make sure you check inside out all your purchases for any little stain or markings - - they will not honor any exchanges or refunds even if they put them on their racks. This was the team working on Mother's Day, May 10, 2026, in the early afternoon. Be better and do better, Uniqlo. read more

Love that there is a Uniqlo location at Stonetown. The story itself feels a bit cramped in the aisles feel as if they're very close together. However, in the few times I visited this location the lines have never been crazy long and seem to move very quickly. Always grateful this location exist whenever wanting to pick something up in San Francisco. read more

When we were packing for our trip to Cali, we didn't realize it would be so cold at night haha. Meant to pack an extra sweater but forgot! We tried finding a decent hoodie in the city and was honestly shocked there wasn't a Uniqlo nearby (closest one was this one in the mall). We decided to book it to this mall before dinner and we were not disappointed at all. Everything was pretty neat in the store, a little smaller though still had all the products we normally see. It was an easy in and out trip! I love Uniqlo for its minimalist look and prices are pretty fair. Can always find things on sale ;) read more

Didn't take photos but it was a quick pit stop at this mall. We came from out of town and needed to get a jacket or hoodie for the colder temps at night (ofc we thought Cali no need for any warmer layers haha). Popped into my favorite store, overall cleanly and organized. There's always sales, usually 5-10$ off and in app deals / promo thought i usually only get online promo not in store. The lady got me a super comfy pull over hoodie. Love their minimalist designs and comfy materials! Feels great, fits great. No complaints and will be a customer for foreseeable future. read more

Uniqlo is always neat, and has good quality clothes for the value. My main reason for leaving a review is that when I went to return an item, I got outstanding service. I didn't have a receipt (which you need) but since I knew what day and time I made the purchase, Zach and Mary manually combed through all of the transactions that day to find my receipt and help me make my return. I'm extremely grateful. You can expect patient and kind people here. And the clothes are always worth the price, (Especially when they're on sale) . read more

I wish Uniqlo were still in downtown San Francisco. I read they are preparing to open a flagship in the troubled mid-Market neighborhood. They could not bring it back on their own. But they have done well: the New Yorker magazine published a profile of their founder and the corporate philosophy. I don't want to fall for marketing pitches. I am persuaded, however, that this corporation is different. It is a profit making venture of course. It has a sensibility I feel I can support. The clothing is not cheap, but it is not expensive. On sale, it is a true bargain. It is not what kids today have celebrated as fast fashion, disposable, but it is not heirloom quality either. I expect my Uniqlo purchases to last, say, a half decade, and they hold up to that test. The fit seems to me consistent across styles. Although the aesthetic is probably pitched to those a generation younger than me, minimalism seems to me relatively timeless; nothing has become unfashionable (wide lapels of the 1970s, skinny ties of the 1980s, shoulder pads in women's suits, etc.) The textiles are, if I can be slightly critical, not the finest in my wardrobe. They are good enough. So Uniqlo is a place that if I were out with my wife at this mall, I wouldn't mind stopping into. I'm not a shopper at all, in the sense it never occurs to me to go shopping. There is a very limited list of chains I would be glad to visit. Uniqlo would be among them. A note about Stonestown. This mall is doing something right. Retail, they say, is dying. You would not know it from the parking lot here. I have never been to Stonestown within the past decade without marveling at how it is bustling. Whoever operates a shopping center should check out Stonestown to see how it should be done. read more

UNIQLO at the Stonestown Mall is a go-to for good cotton and their Heattech thermal wear. The stores, rubber stamped, usually big, clean, and spacious filled with well-made basics, dress and casual, to other items like coats and jackets during certain seasons. Their pricing is pretty good, even better on sale when they're closing out at season's end. But you have to be quick when it goes on sale, it goes fast! I love the cool special, collaborative logo tee shirts they offer occasionally! Unfortunately I usually catch them when they're on sale, meaning that I won't be able to get the size I want. They're cool if you can catch them! I haven't experienced the negative customer service reviews here by other reviewers. They can be very busy and you're lucky to get a smile sometimes but I'm here to buy. As long as they answer my questions sufficiently and check me out without mishap I'm good. My only caveat about UNIQLO is their clothes, though of a nice quality, are geared for the petite Asian market. And sometimes this includes their bottoms. I find their tops a little too short for my American-born frame and wish they'd adjust their clothes for the market here. One star off for this. read more

I bought a pair of jeans at Uniglo in Tokyo. The selection was awesome, the customer service top shelf and the prices incredible in Japan. I was told that Uniglo did free alterations upon purchase and to show the receipt. I wanted to wash the jeans before hemming, so I did that when I returned to SF. I went to Uniglo in Stonestown today and the manager (VICENTE) said he would alter for free since I had the receipt from the Tokyo store. I think he bent the rule for me because I did not purchase the jeans at Stonestown. Domo arigato for that, Vicente. The young man in the dressing room pinned me, BONNIE alter in an hour (amazing microwave fast service) and I got the cutest La BuBu Pop Mart collab bag. From their Heat tech for cold winter months (or most of the year in SF!) to Airism for keeping you cool and comfortable in the warmer season all at affordable prices and with such great quality! I hope you never lose or misplace your receipt. Getting a replacement or having an employee look it up in their system is nearly impossible, or maybe is possible but they don't want to help. I had an item I needed to return and somewhere along the way, I lost the receipt. I have all of the purchase information, date, time, last 4 digits of card and even remembered which self-check out kiosk I used. The first employee, I think his name was Robert, he didn't seem thrilled to help me and actually discouraged me to retrieve my receipt by telling me it's not really possible to look it up even with the information I had. Another employee heard what was happening, her name was Siam/Zion? She happily stepped in and assisted me right away. Within a minute, she was able to locate my purchase information and printed my receipt so I can initiate a return. It was a bad experience for me because what really took a minute to do and to locate a receipt with all the needed information somehow was a hassle and chore for the first employee. I'm glad Siam/Zion was there that day to help. read more

Civilization (Uniqlo) has come to Stonestown! Very excited to try this location. Though it has a wide entrance, it's surprisingly cramped inside. There are a lot of nice, timeless designs and clothes available--for example, they have a nice UV zip up hoodie for kids. The items Uniqlo sell are a good value, and if you want even more savings, sign up for their text messages and app! Service is kind of strange. They have fitting rooms in the back, which are usually pretty crowded, and the self-checkout takes some getting used to as well. Overall, would definitely recommend! read more

I was astonished that they had nice comfortable clothes at a reasonable price. I ended up purchasing a few items. They have a self serve checkout. It's neat cause you just put your clothes into the side container and it figures out what you are buying! I learned later I could have downloaded the App and saved some more money. Oh well. I used to work in a sewing factory and want to state that their lock stitching is flawless and it doesn't have a bunch of loose threads dangling. This is ONE star too many. Only one of three cash registers took cash while also taking returns. Two other registers only took credit cards. This configuration works most of the time, until that ONE register that can transact cash also gets stuck with returns. My 88-year-old mother waited in line for that ONE cash register while the incompetent cashier took 20 minutes to complete price adjustments on several items bought online. The cashier even confused himself (he said, I am confused), then confused the female customer as well. When I asked if that return could move over so the cash line could move along, another cashier said no. But when I talked to the manager on duty, he said all three could've taken cash. In summary, incompetence on the part of one cashier and lies from another ruined my first day of shopping in 2026. The utterly illogical and confusing way the customer service/cashiers' line is configured just wasted time that I cannot get back. Goodbye Stonestown Uniqlo. While here at the mall waiting to meet someone I dashed into Uniqlo to see their Athletic cut undershirts and found what I was looking for similar to what I have which was bought years ago but only better with a wider cut for the underarm area. I was surprised that they had the sizing and quality of what I am used to so for a total of $11 including the 25 cent bag I was in and out lickity split using the self serve kiosk. Easy to find things with a very helpful staff who lets you try on items depending on how that item is packaged. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I went to shop today for the black friday deals and instead recieved horrible service by the tall young lady with overalls in the fitting room. Instead of saying excuse me, she very loudly demanded we wait by the wall, which I understand but it is no way to talk to a customer in that way! She also very rudely told me to wait for a room to become available. Don't go here if you have asthma or if you get a migraine headache from Febreze and other strong masking fragrances (many people do). You will get SICK! They spray Febreze and other products everywhere and in generous abundance like nothing I've seen. They seem to wipe things with it too because anything you buy here smells very strongly. I've never smelled it so strongly like this anywhere, maybe because it's an enclosed space with no air flow and they spray it GENEROUSLY. Even if you don't have asthma or migraines, it's not good for your health. Fortunately I won't miss Uniqlo (since they closed the SF store, and I won't go to this store again) because their product quality and styles have gone down a lot. I wanted to get the same collarless down jacket I bought several years ago in a different color, and the material is now different (cheap looking) and it's filled with polyester instead of soft down. Bad experience where I was looking to purchase sweatshirts when an Asian associate and a bald associate pushed me aside so they could discuss how to display their clothing. They stood there for two more minutes to discuss. I confronted them about their rude behavior and the bald guy made an insincere apology, as if I was intruding on their space. I also brought this up to their manager and manager agreed that it was unacceptable. Customers are guests in the store and their associates should not treat them as nothing. Poor customer service is unaccepable in mall stores and anywhere else and discussing display metrics should take a back seat to service. Kudos to their manager but the caustic behavior of their associates have cost them a sale that day and any future sales at this location. read more

I used the self-checkout line this afternoon, but one of the staff just took over and started pressing buttons for me. I could barely read the instructions on the screen!!! I'm the one paying for the merchandise!!! WTF?!! Uniqlo, please re-assign your smarty-pants, know-it-all personnel to some other parts of the store. BTW, that's a dude. I went into the store trying to exchange some products on 8/26/21 around a bit afternoon. The line was extremely long, so I'd figured if I can find a sales associate, maybe they can hold my returns so I can go and buy the stuff I want. I started talking to an associate, her name is, Ashley M(aka Asst Manager*AM*). I rested my helmet on the table trying to get my receipt and return products while talking to Ashley. Immediately, she starts demanding, sir, can you remove the helmet from the merchandise. I'm still trying to get to my wallet, my return products and unzipping my backpack. I asked her, what difference would it make if it was here or not, I'm just trying to get a receipt and my stuff. She demanded louder, "Sir, if you do not remove the helmet, you have to leave the store!!" And she got louder and louder. I asked her, are you kidding me, let me talk to the sales associate next to her. So I started talking to the next associate, somehow this fat, short, unattractive Ashley said, "She can't help you. I'm her manager, she cannot help you!!!! Plus you've been swearing at her!!" I looked at the other sales associate and said, is this for real? Did I even swear at you? Her manager then yells, she can't help you at all!! You need to leave and I'm calling Jose, the security guy to remove you. Jose came, I explained to him the whole situation, and while Ashley was still on the side trying to make the situation worst and interject a bunch of lies about me harassing her, he waved her away. I asked where the manager was and he said the person's on vacation. I explained that I've never seen customer service this bad in Uniqlo anywhere in the world. I asked Jose if I'm kicked out because I have no clue what just transpired, he said not to worry, I can continue shopping. Ashley M has to be the worst asst manager known to man-kind, the other Asian associate was left crying later because Ashley didn't even allow her to speak or help a customer when I kindly asked so. Please review your videos from 2-3:30PM. As I continued shopping, Ashley M didn't even want to give it up. She would not relent and even called Mall Security to see if they can haul me out of there because I didn't listen to her about resting my helmet on the merchandise for a few seconds. When they came, I explained to them that the Uniqlo assistant manager Ashley M was harassing me, and Jose, the nice reasonable security person, explained to them the whole situation. The mall security bid me farewell and was on their way. I didn't know Covid transmitted through helmets and if you do not listen to Uniqlo employees when they demand you to do something, they'll send out their Uniqlo security guards and also the mall security to harass you. I have everything on video as well Uniqlo, why in the world is Ashley M even an employee anywhere, much less Uniqlo? I've been to Japan, this is not how they teach you customer service. The only redeeming experience here was the nice Uniqlo security officer, Jose V. who was reasonable and diffused the situation; who should really be the manager. I'm clueless why Uniqlo's hiring or promotion allows Ashley M to even have a job. She treats clients horrendously and her employees like slaves. read more

#97/2016 I'm not big on Union Square shopping with the big subway dig, the panhandling, the tourists, the dearth of parking so I'd avoided Uniqlo all this time. I know they've opened elsewhere since their flagship Union Square store but I also had this goofy idea their clothes were itty bitty. So I traipsed in to their convenient Stonestown location with cranky child in tow hoping to find some back-to-school clothes for him and maybe something for me. Cranky child deigned to consider a t-shirt and after he felt the soft Supima cotton, he wanted it in 3 colors. (At $9.90 each, yes yes and yes!) He also found a Pixar-licensed t-shirt with Minecraft-like, pixelated Disney characters. That was a hit and budget-friendly ($9.90). I bought some "I'm chillin' on a Sunday" sweatpants (which I'll be wearing week nights too, who we kidding) for $19.90 and a lightweight down vest ($49.90). Service was friendly and helpful, the store was impeccably organized and well-lit. I was born without the shopping gene; I don't enjoy it and to me it's a chore and necessary evil. Hell officially froze over and Armageddon has arrived, for clearly why else would I tolerate waiting in line to get into this store? But that's what they made us do when Jamie W. and I were at Stonestown Mall on the way back from Half Moon Bay. I just wanted to check it out to see if they had any Heattech thermal underwear. But much to our chagrin, we were placed in a queue behind a velvet rope like it was an exclusive nightclub or maybe the King Tut exhibit (photo: http://bit.ly/JRsdoY). Only it wasn't the sight of rare antiquities that challenged our patience. No, it was underwear and maybe a Cashmere sweater if it was on sale. Maybe I should have dressed like a Harujuku girl to fit in. I just don't have enough hair to make the curly-Q pigtails. OK, once we got in after about ten minutes or so, it's a more manageable shopping experience in line with any other UNIQLO. The new store is located on the bottom level near Macy's which is close to the Forever 21 also. Once you head towards Macy's, you should be able to see it. Everything here is basically the stuff you can find at other Uniqlo stores. The fleece, the fluffy jackets, leggings, and a bunch of other clothing options. It was the first day today and I think it went okay. It's opening weekend so some clothes (not all) are pretty cheap right now so get your butt over here and shop shop shop. If you want that is. I love Uniqlo. It's been my go-to for most items for many years. I've spent hundreds of dollars here... but now I will never shop at Uniqlo again. Worst customer experience I've ever had hands down. With your stores opening and closing all the time due to COVID you decide to make your return policy more stringent? Not less? Don't order anything online because they won't let you return it in store (according to the manager here). In a separate incident, they never refunded me on an order they shipped back to the warehouse. I wasn't able to get to the store to pick it up in time (live over an hour away and they started emergency lockdown). So they sent the clothes back to the warehouse. That's fine. But they never refunded my payment??? Where's my money??? Need to go to online support now. This store is terrible. Never shopping at any Uniqlo again and especially not this one. read more
