David, a Master Plumber, came to my condo to give me a quote. He then came back the next day with an apprentice to install the toilet and flush the water heater. David answered all of my questions. He and his apprentice installed the toilets. The job was an A+. Here are some of the details: * Plumbing is a high-stakes job in a mid-rise condo such as mine. One leak could destroy multiple floors beneath. * My HOA requires proof of insurance that covers multi-family. AAA Auger had that proof, which is how they got on our approved list of contractors. * David has 40 years of plumbing experience, so he was well prepared to manage the complexities of working in my mid-rise condo. * AAA Auger sent a text message before the visit with a picture of David and his bio. I think that's a nice way to introduce a technician before they arrive. * David easily found the building and parked in the loading dock. I didn't have to call him once before he arrived. What a relief - sometimes this can be hard to explain how to get here. * Along with the new toilets, I purchased an artificial wax ring and some new hoses. David evaluated those, but given the placement of the toilets against the tile, recommended a different wax ring and different hoses. He had the recommended products in his truck. I trusted his judgment and went with his products. * After installing the toilets, David flushed my water heater. * I've gotten my water heater flushed by other plumbers each year for the past three years. Each time, it takes the plumber only 15 minutes. David took 30+ minutes to drain the water heater. I asked why, and he showed me that's how long it *actually* takes to drain all the way. In other words, the previous plumbers were cutting corners and not draining the water heater all the way. * After flushing the water heater, David checked the toilets and found a few drips under the new hoses. He discovered the hoses had a manufacturing defect and replaced the hoses again during the same visit. HIS PROACTIVE APPROACH SAVED ME FROM HAVING TO CALL HIM OUT AGAIN. * The next day, the dispatcher from AAA Auger called me to follow up and see if I had any questions. I told them everything was perfect. * I'm writing this review a week after my service call, and the toilets are working perfectly. There's no leaks on the hoses. The water heater is performing well. * I'm very happy with the service I received from AAA Auger. I would recommend them. * 1 big thing - I paid a pretty penny for the service. It was worth it because of the quality of the install, the experience of the plumber, and the insurance they carry that's compatible with my HOA requirements. * 1 more way to look at the cost: I don't expect to call a plumber to service the toilets for another 10 years. So, the way I look at the price I paid today is to divide the price by 10 - that's how much per year the job cost me.

(Great!). Surprisingly, plumber calls 9a on Sunday ON THE DOT, and says - I'll be there at 10am. Plumber calls back 15 minutes later and says "I can't do sprinklers." My husband explains again that the irrigation people were out the day before and it is NOT the sprinklers. Plumber says okay. We wait, and wait... and at 11a- I call the company again. Same receptionist as Saturdays call- "oh he said he can't do it" But no one called to tell us he wasn't coming?! She tells us it is our responsibility to have called them to find out why he no showed... but she'll book us another plumber to come out between 3-5p on Sunday. Fine, ok. Just need to get this done. As we are leaving our house (11:45a) to run errands - phone rings the 3pm plumber wants to come right now. Told him no, appointment is at 3pm. Plumber shows up at 3pm in an unmarked van, not in uniform.. is outside our house for 20 minutes - comes to tell me he can't find the leak, he isn't a leak detector and cannot do anything but it will be $125 for him coming out. He also has no way to process a CC and starts writing down my CC number - which I immediately stopped and shredded the paper. Eventually someone calls me from company number and I pay my bill (begrudgingly) for literally no service rendered. He tells me to call the company tomorrow and have a leak detection person come out and he can come back out to fix it - and my $125 will go towards that bill. My husband calls today and service is refused. And he was hung up on multiple times. This company is being reported to BBB for being complete frauds. Why actually help customers when you can charge $125 for a fifteen minute "consolation" and never have to fix anything.

Decided to try Mesquite Plumbing/Mr. Rooter. We stayed home and waited for them to arrive. Late in the day they rescheduled for the next day. When they eventually arrived, the plumber looked at it and said that he would sour up an estimate. Thirty minutes later he presented the estimate for $1500 and another for $5000 to replace a non-leaking line by the street because the copper was "Green". Coincidentally, we just had that line replaced by Riddell for only $400, just 3 months ago when the city replaced our meter. I told the Mr. Rooter representative this and he told me that they do "by the Job" pricing vs. by the hour and that is why it cost so much. I paid him the $65 "service call charge" and sent him on his way. I then dug up the area around the valve and found a very small leak at one of the copper pipe junctions. Less than a half hour to fix for any decent plumber. I would literally be ashamed to operate a business in this type of predatory manner. If I didn't know something about plumbing, I would have been totally ripped off. BUYER BEWARE!
