They were so good that we've already recommended them to a couple of friends, and I hope they get the opportunity to work with them as well. We plan to hire them again next year for additional work in the spring/summer, and I'll be happy to update this review then. Skill: They are truly skilled carpenters (Brendan, Zach, and Sam), which feels rare these days. While I don't do woodworking myself, I can certainly recognize and appreciate quality craftsmanship. In several areas, Zach and Sam came up with creative solutions to ensure water would not sit on the wood. They also discovered additional dry rot during the project and always consulted with us and obtained approval before proceeding. They worked non-stop--even in the cold! Work: I initially contacted Brendan for a mix of handyman work along with exterior dry rot repairs. He was honest and upfront about what could realistically be done during the dry season, so we decided to focus solely on the dry rot repairs. As it turned out, Brendan is a former termite inspector--perfect for anyone needing dry rot repair. They worked at our home for 3 days. There was one small area that wasn't painted on one side; once we brought it to his attention, Brendan came back the very next day to fix it. He answered my questions clearly and honestly, and didn't try to upsell me on other potential work that I didn't ask for. Once I accepted his estimate, he scheduled the job in a very timely manner. He and his guys completed the job on schedule and on budget, which sadly seems like a rarity these days. I have a limited size office space and found it annoying that my door was taking up almost 3ft of wall! So after some Googling I found a door that would solve my problem for my niche space. I recieved quotes from a handful of people, all of which were uncharging me for expensive custom door hinges or trying to offer alternatives which would not fit the space. When I sent the project request to Alfredo, we discussed the project in detail and, while he had never done this style of door before, assured me it would not be any more difficult than any of his other interior door projects. On top of that, after discovering that my current door was solid wood, he said we could simply reuse it and save me some money. He picked up my door, took it to his shop, and came back later that week to install it. Another company said they couldn't repair, but they could build me a new one. Then I called Ryan he said not a problem, I can fix it! A couple hours later and a fraction of the cost later it was repaired good as new! Over the last several years Ryan has installed many shelves, hung pictures, replaced garage door trim and repaired dry rot, fixed a door falling off the hinges, installed a new thermostat, replaced a bathroom vanity, the list goes on. Everything he's done has always turned out wonderful. He does have a two hour minimum charge. So I have a check list on my phone called Ryan's to do list.
