Not too long ago I had my truck parked at some apartments, with a registered guest pass approved by the apartment through their app and still had my vehicle towed. When I called their office desk I was told that my charge would be $200 to get my vehicle released and they ended up charging me around $350. When I arrived and showed them my valid guess pass they completely dismissed it. The lady that works at that office was extremely rude, unprofessional, and didn't even care to look at my pass. They illegally towed my car, and when I called to get it back the same night, the woman on the phone put me on hold until 11:02 PM, only to then tell me that since it was past 11, they "couldn't release it until tomorrow." This place is a joke for customer service. Let's start off by saying I get it, I can only imagine how some rude some people get with having to pay for their car which was towed. Now with that said. The experience I had with a friend recently was very shocking to say the least. My friend is a bit older and wanted to verify what was needed and such. She comes back tells us the gate will open he can go back and pick up the vehicle and we can leave. I think you have to have the personality of a wet blanket to work for this company. Woke up to this absolute dick trying to dump some broken down car at our house. He said that our address was the address he was given for delivery so he was leaving it no matter what we said. I asked for a name or paperwork to prove any of this and he refused to show any proof that this was true. Then he says that it's been sitting in their garage (lot?) for too long and they need to get rid of it so no matter what he's leaving it. Which is wild to think they just dump cars on random streets that they don't want to deal with anymore. I did see him finally deliver the car to someone else down the street once he was able to use the single brain cell thats bouncing around up there to call the number of the person that gave him the address in the first place. But this dude was about to drop someone else's property without a signature or anything because he didn't want to deal with it. My name is Taylor Gourley and around 9 AM on 6/6/22 my vehicle was illegally towed from 10616 Mellow Meadows, Austin, TX 78759. My condominium, Park West Condos, is having construction being done on the property and my car was towed due to being in the construction zone. However, before being towed a neighbor knocked on my door to let me know I needed to move the vehicle. Upon going out to move the car, one of your tow trucks was preparing to tow the vehicle. I tried to get the Dispatcher's attention that I was prepared to move it by banging on their window, however they continued to ignore me and proceeded with hitching the car and leaving with it. They then proceeded to come back to tow another neighbor's car, and when trying to get their attention they continued to drive past me until he basically almost hit me with the truck. The driver finally rolled down his window, yelled, "call the number," and proceeded to continue to drive toward me and got close enough that I was afraid of being struck by the truck. This behavior was completely unacceptable, the driver almost physically assaulted me with the tow truck and had zero respect for me by blatantly ignoring me. Had this interaction not occurred things may have been different. This interaction has made a severe impact on my emotional well being and my anxiety as someone who has a diagnosed anxiety disorder. Under the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration this was an illegal towing and directly violated my rights. Their website states, "WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS? When a tow truck tries to tow your car or after your car has been towed, you have certain rights as the car owner under the law. Your rights: If you return to your car and it is being hooked-up to a tow truck but IT IS NOT FULLY hooked up and ready for towing, you can keep your car WITHOUT paying a CHARGE. You do not need to prove ownership of the car in this instance." TO BE VERY CLEAR, MY CAR WAS NOT HITCHED WHEN I APPROACHED THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER. I have multiple witnesses of the events that occurred. I expect immediate action to take place. If I am not refunded for the towing, I will be filing a formal complaint with the state government and will have legal representation if necessary. I am also looking into pressing formal charges against the tow truck driver who almost hit me. I've requested to talk to a supervisor multiple times but have only been able to receive the customer service email, to which I have not gotten a response from. I went to take my dog out at 5 am for a walk when I saw a tow truck trying to tow my boyfriend's truck that was parked in front of our apartment. I immediately ran out and tried to ask why his truck was being towed and the man didn't want to roll down his window to talk to me or explain what the issue was. The girl on the phone hung up in my face without be being rude because I called to ask her why someone wasn't present after I gave an hour's notice. I took off of work AND waited outside for over 45 minutes in the sun on someone to show up. All of this is on top of my parking permit indeed being in my car once I retrieved it. "Customer service" person who wouldn't give me her name hung up on me several times while I tried to gather information about my illegal and unauthorized tow. They tack on extra fees such as the "storage fee" and "impoundment fee". My car was on their lot for about 10 minutes and I was charged $20 for a full day of storage.
