The woman who had sliced it and wrapped it (out of my view behind the counter) started to print the price sticker and I saw "Pepper-jack" cheese on the screen but she quickly changed it to read Monterey Jack instead. Sure enough, once I got home and opened the package it was Pepper-Jack. So she realized she had sliced the wrong kind of cheese but wrapped it & gave it to me anyway! read more

I've used A&C twice now, both times without stepping foot through the door. First time Facebook pointed me to them for a gift basket. I ordered by phone and picked up a basket of Italian and Italian-American goodies; which my friends loved. Second time, just this past weekend ordered subs for a gathering at my house. Now let me tell you, the delivery guys totally nonchalant dropped off twin 5' subs. They were so good. But folks, think before your order feet of sandwich. We didn't. We have a fridge full of left over sandwich. Face Palm! The sandwiches come with a pound/foot of salads (macaroni, cole slaw, or potato). Well known for great deli counter service and food both hot food and sandwiches but I am writing to recommend for catering. This is the 4th time we've catered form A&C and it's been great every time. They have a huge menu so sometimes it's been heros with salads and others has been their hot food. Ordering is an informative and pleasant experience. The delivery is always simple and timely. The price is reasonable. And the most important part, the food is consistently good! Highly recommended for your next quick food stop and/or catered event !! read more

I will give this place a 3 star only because their Kansas City pork chops are normally a 5 star. I recently drove from NJ to get Kansas City pork chops for Easter and I got cheated. I received this "pork chop" in my $46 order. It was more like a Kansas City bone rather than pork chop. The second picture is a normal looking chop. I have to be honest this is the only place I go. To be very very honest I go shopping like it's my own private supermarket ! They always have what I need !! This was a long time ago my older son is now soon to be 21 as a new mom trying to do it all shop make dinner work....??? I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least. I will never forget to this day my son was 4 months old in the car seat carrier thing that weighed about 100 pound not including baby! I went in and Clara the owner was like give me the baby you go do your shopping !!! Clara stayed up at the counter in the front and took care of my 4 month old as if he were hers. Now we still get to see Clara on holidays when she is visiting .... and I make my son Anthony who is almost 21 in less then a month go say do you remember your baby Anthony? He is now 6.3 and she laughs and says I need a ladder to hug my handsome boy! Anthony and his sister Philomena and the entire A@C staff are really like family they have whacked both of my boys grow from infants to 15 teen and almost 21 year olds . My boys love going shopping with me ! Let me rephrase that the like going food shopping only to A@C !!! Yes that is correct! I can call Anthony with a few hours notice and tell him I need you to cater a party for about 40 people in about 2 hours and he dose it!!! I never said he liked it lol!! So many different types of Italian food to get here. My favorite are the proscuitto balls. Very creamy, cheesy and very tasty. I never had proscuitto balls that tasted this good. They also have other types of rice balls including cheese and loaded. Potato croquettes and mozzarella sticks can be found here as well. I also like the italian egg rolls. Prices are great top and there is ample parking outside. Cashiers are polite and friendly and the person in charge that I saw on sept 12th who I think was the owner or manager was polite and friendly too. Yum! This is a well edited medium size market. It's clean, friendly, and I love the open kitchen. I buy my cold cuts and sides here as well as various well prepared cooked items. I ordered 2 really good sandwiches from the deli. The counter man came around and walked me to the breads, where I got to pick what I wanted the sandwich on. There were 2 soft sub rolls right there, so I went with those. Normally I like a little harder Italian bread, but these were fine. I went with the italian sandwich and got salami and cheese for the wife. Good amount of meat on both sandwiches, I thought the red pepper on the Italian could have had a little more flavor. Really glad I added onions to the sandwich too, because it didn't come with them. 12$ for the Italian, 9$ for the salami and cheese- each sandwich was plenty of food for an entire meal, and wife actually made hers into 2. Ok fine, half for her and half for me a day or 2 later. Sandwich aside, there is a ton of prepared Italian/other food in the counter. I saw friend shrimp, egg rolls (who knows what they were stuffed with), rice balls, like 4 different meatballs... it was a lot of food to choose from. Me and my family were loyal customers of A&C for a long time. Ever since they expanded, the food quality has really declined. After buying products from both the shelf and in the deli that were expired, moldy, and old, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them one more shot. I got stromboli from the deli and the meat inside was so old, the salami was turning gray. Ordered a deli sandwich and the grilled chicken was rubbery and disgusting. I couldn't even eat any of it and this stuff is pricey! Unfortunately this place had so much potential, but i will never buy anything from there again. The superette part is mediocre, you kind of have to go in with an open mind and take what you can get. My mother and grandmother go here almost every Saturday morning to get their cold cuts for the week and to pick up pasta salads for lunch. You can always count on variety and new dishes - one week it's pasta primavera, the next it's cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe or rigatoni with mini meatballs. If you have absolutely no time to prepare a meal for your loved ones, this is the place to visit. They have a large variety of "home cooked" items you can take home and pass for your own. Justin makes an awesome chicken meat loaf. Their pasta dishes are insanely good too. I like their whole wheat penne with broccoli and sun dried tomatoes. Fresh mozzarella is out of this world ! If you get there early enough it's still warm. Tonight for dinner we had New England clam chowder ( yes it had clams in it) fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and chicken meatloaf. When we go to A&C they always remember what you had last time and ask you how it was. That type of service is rare. This was my favorite deli-until they made the major renovations. It is strange, the taste of the refrigerated salads do not seem as fresh as they were in the old refrigerator cases. The refrigerator cases have a separation in the glass. One day while waiting for my order, I saw a child put their fingers through the opening towards the food. Made me think if a kid could put their fingers in there, what else could fit through those openings? The deli workers (post construction) are not as skilled, not great at cutting the deli meats. The store has an odd smell, not food like, but odd. My teenager says it stinks. It isn't a pleasant smell. One very annoying thing-the new cashiers. No one says "next" or "can I help you?" Nope you get an "are you ready?" With a questioning look as they look up from their phones. Yes I am ready. I am standing on this line. I am sure the renovations cost a small fortune. But the store doesn't seem as crowded as it once was. I hope the expansion pays off for the deli. read more
