I read all the great reviews online about this place and was really excited to try it out! However... I was pretty disappointed :( Upon going in there, girl at the counter seemed kind of annoyed about me asking what the cakes were. I told her my boyfriend wanted a chocolate cake. She told me that the cake with a milk and white chocolate swirl on top was a brownie cake. They wrote happy birthday on it, and I took it home. When we cut the cake for his birthday, it was a yellow cake inside with a chocolate butter creme filling. Nothing about this cake was brownie. It was very dry too. I spent $18 on a small cake and it wasn't what I was told it was going to be either. Really upset it kind of ruined the night. read more

This place was really sub par. I just drove out with my squad like 15 mins from where I live so the place is pretty deep so understand that my expectations are high. But that's no excuse for the quality of pantries this place should be putting out especially when they brand themselves as "The Ultimate Bakery". Just wanna put it out there that the bakery girls serving us were fabulous, super friendly, chill and accommodating. I'll start with the good news... The St. Joseph with the cannoli was insanely delicious. The blondie was pretty nice and then everything else after was dry and lacking flavor, on par with grocery store purchases. Use to be much better, seems to have gone down a bit over the years. They use to have a large selection of holiday pies, this Thanksgiving they only had a few varieties. On our last visit the Rainbow cookies are lacking the apricot filling, very dry and are pricey. The Italian store down the block sells the same cookies at half the price per pound and are much better. Nothing stays the same nowadays. read more

What can I say? They once had a small store in Dix Hills, but it closed. We wanted to cry. However, that didn't stop us from driving to Deer Park to their main store. This bakery is very busy and there are many reasons why. Phone orders are cheerfully taken and the bakers are the friendliest of all. Cookie trays contain best assortments and are beautifully wrapped ready to go during the holidays. The apple crumb pie is excellent. The Napoleons are so delicious. Average...not as stellar to myself or my boyfriend for the reviews that are written...we got a small order because we were in the mood for a few sweets...rainbow cookies (these were personally subpar to me...and I loveeeee rainbow cookies), a cannoli, and 2 brownies (one with nuts and the other seemed like dark chocolate). The rainbow cookies were severely lacking that delicious apricot filling between each layer, and the cake seemed a little dry. The cannoli wasn't for us, so I cannot comment, and the brownies were good; cakey like, with frosting on both, one with nuts and the other seemed like a richer version. They were good but in my eyes everything counts on the rainbow cookie and they weren't anything special or memorable...average cookies and cakes (below average rainbow cookies), counterhelp was neither friendly nor dismissive (just a young girl boxing up our order...no smile, no pizazz, and offered no description/details on pastries)so they're average...3 stars read more

I am new to this yelp but asked my daughter to sign me up since I really need to get my disappointment out with this bakery. I have been coming here since day 1 and every single weekend I've come to pickup my crumb buns and cinnamon raison buns. However for the past month or so I've been told they will no longer be making them. Today I went in hoping that they would have a change of mind since I've heard other costumers asking for them but this was not the case. So now I have no choice but to find a new bakery. Seems like it's the only "bakery" in the area. We went here looking to get some fresh baked bread and picked up some of the cookies. When they told me the price I was incredulous! I've been to plenty of bakeries, but this is not a Manhattan name-brand, simply the only game in town. The quality was simply average, neither bad nor great - nothing to write about. This could have been a 3-star review, maybe 4 if the service was amazing when ordering a cake, but the prices are so high that I'm giving this a 2-star. I love places that are inconspicuous then they blow you away with awesomeness. This is exactly what happened with our experience at A&G. I rarely judge a book by its cover...but I did with A&G. We were running late for a party and I did a quick google search and found the closest bakery. A&G is located inconspicuously in the corner of a shopping center and I wasn't impressed with the sparse decor, no grill bread racks and fluorescent lighting. Since we were short on time, I fought the urge to leave...and boy am I glad. This bakery is AMAZING! The cheesecake is out of this world (juniors who?)...it's rich AND more importantly not too sweet as bakery tends do. As for Cream Puffs..:let's just say I was an Indian Giver and the dozen never made it to the party. It wasn't until I asked my neighbors that I found out this great little hidden gem. read more

I was a loyal customer for over 15 years. Purchased raisin buns every Sunday . It was a favorite in our family. Since they stopped making raisin buns a few years back , I stopped purchasing there. Bring back the amazing buns and surely business will improve. read more

Outstanding bakery. Prices have gone up but its still worth it considering what other bakeries charge for lower quality products. I'm not much of a sweets eater but if I had to pick the best Cannoli on Long island I wouldn't hesitate...not even for a for a fraction of a second. I pick A&G. The connoli here...its so flaky and crispy that the shell melts in your mouth and the cream has total flavor 100%. Haven't tried cakes yet...will get back to you on that. I really love how this bakery smells every time I walk inside. I can immediately smell the baked cakes and pastries. For the most part this bakery's staff is helpful. The lighting used within this facility os welcoming. The downside is that it always seems to be a tad chilly and I am not sure if this is to make sure that the baked goods are at a good temperature or what. But unfortunately it makes me want to find something quick and leave. However, I'd love to just marvel and stay here one day. I get my usual vanilla and chocolate cannoli whenever I do come. I'm very picky when it comes to eating any sort of cannoli. Although I reside in the city, they are hard to come by. I usually get them in Little Italy or at this bakery that I regularly visit. The staff is neither outstanding nor bad. Next time I hope to actually take my time and pick out something different. I've been dying to try the rainbow cookies at this place. I've been going to A&G Bakery for countless years. Everything is fresh, cakes and cookies. Coffee is delicious as well. This is an old school bakery. Hard to find traditional cookies and lovely cakes. This is not a highbrow bakery where it looks good and tastes awful. This is your neighborhood family bakery. I've had my fare share of Long Island bakeries, and to be honest, have never been a fan of them. That's until I came across this gem. Located on Deer Park Ave. this bakery has it all. I'm picky about cannoli's and rainbow cookies, but boy are these served fresh and delicious at A&G. Every time I come, there's usually a small wait which is normal because they are so popular. the prices are slightly higher, but every time I find its worth it for the quality of my selections. our family has tried almost all the pastries here. The cheesecake is AWESOME, cannoli's and rainbow cookies are a must try, the éclairs and lobster tails are amazing, and the macaroons are made fresh and light. I have been here for the past 3 years for so many different occasions. Every time I bring something from A&G bakery, people always ask me where I purchased my baked goods! Love this spot! read more

They have wonderful made to order cakes, we get all our special order cakes here - fresh and delish. The worst customer service. Ordered a sheet cake for my grandmothers memorial service. I go to pick it up and it was not ready. The date and time was correct on the original purchased receipt. They thought it was for the next day. No apology and they acted like it was no big deal. I had to go back 40 minutes later and rush back to the church as I have guests waiting for the party. They refused to deliver it based on their error. I will never do business with that bakery ever again based on the customer service they provided. My boys wanted a cup cake so we googled the closest bakery and found this one. Once we entered my youngest son ran over to the pastry section! He was so excited about the cannoli dipped in chocolate! My oldest son was drawn to the cakes because he loves icing. I went to the over end by the cookies. We were the only ones in the store so we could speak to each other easily. As we spoke there was a little old woman in the back. She repeatedly stuck her head out but never once addressed us. After about 3 min the middle age woman behind the counter finally asked me if I needed help. She was present the entire time, she looked me up and down and focused on my head wrap. Even as she asked me could she help me her eyes remained on my head wrap. Idk what the issue was but clearly we weren't treated like valued customers. We travel over 30 minutes to go to this bakery over 10 years. The baked goods are worth the trip. The negative is the staff. There is an older woman who may be the owner and every time she assists she seems to be annoyed, and never says thank you. It is as though your bothering her. This used to be my favorite local bakery (and I stress local because there are SO many other better ones on LI) but after today, I will never return. Their hours stayed until 4pm on Easter. I attempted to call several times after leaving work to let them know I was coming for just one pre-made rainbow cake for dessert for my family for Easter, but no answer. After speeding home as fast as I could to make it in time I walked up to the door at 3:58, and it was locked. There was maybe 3-4 customers inside (one a small kid so I'm sure his order wasn't big or he was likely with his mom) I politely knocked on the door and was rudely stared at by a bunch of teenage girls. Being a returning customer that I know they recognize considering how often I go, you would think they would at least have the courtesy to say sorry or wave goodbye or say something to acknowledge the fact that they closed early, but instead they just stared like I wanna some sort of animal on exhibit and continued to ignore me. Probably the best kept secret bakery on Long Island! We drive from Ronkonkoma to Deer Park just for A&G Bakery stuff. We have tried many bakeries and AG tops the list for cakes cookies and danishes. The lemon cake is light tasty and delicately delicious. Their Mocha cake which we just had is the best of any we have had ((even better than Al**** in Smithtown). A&G breads are okay too. read more
