This place is now called The Ultimate Bakery and located in one of those strip malls. Hubby was craving some sweets from here the other night so we stopped by and he specifically wanted to come to THIS place. He said he's been coming to this bakery for quite some time and his brother always buys a bunch of things when he visits. There was plenty of free parking on a Saturday night and the store itself was brightly lit. Very spacious inside and very clean. I was surprised at the variety and amount of items for sale! Everything was stocked pretty full, especially the cookies and individual pastries. I believe everything goes by weight when you're purchasing the cookies and pastries but if you have any questions, the staff were super sweet, patient and helpful! Hubby purchased an assortment of items like eclairs, cookies, rainbow cookies, cannolis and some sort of Napoleon looking pastry. Although some were a bit on the sweeter side (I have a sweet tooth too), everything was very delicious! I was very surprised that the butter cookies were really good because those are usually my least favorite anywhere I go. The rainbow cookies were also very good! There were no tables and chairs for customers so if you were planning on sitting down to enjoy something, sorry! I did see a small round table with two stools next to it but the table contained their cake binder so I'm assuming it's used for cake related orders. read more

This is a great bakery in Deer Park area. Lots of cake and pastry options and freshly baked. The customer service is great and she was very patient and gave excellent recommendations. I already told neighbors to try it and even the famous tre leches is sold there. read more

typically, they have wonderful cakes and cookies. The last two times I purchased cannolis, they were awful. The shells were completely soft. Here I was bragging to company how great they were and they were really bad. I will say I called and they made up for it, but it didn't help the fact that I was served cannolis that were thrown out read more

This was my second visit to this adorable shop. The displays are always filled with delightful treats and an amazing variety. Last time, we sampled one of each of their macarons. Perfection. From the feet on the macarons to the light but flavorful fillings, we knew we had to return for more treats. This visit the macaron shelf was filled with small individual cakes. We could not resist. We tried the carrot cake and red velvet cakes and I opted for a black and white cookie as well. Service was fast and the ladies at this shop are very amicable. I appreciate and value good service and this location is top notch. The store is clean and they have a drink station also. We will most definitely be coming back again. I just have to try the spritz cookies. I would like to perhaps get an assortment to try one of each. read more

Awful & So Disappointing !! Apparently this bakery is under new ownership...everything has changed for the worst!! My whole family has been coming to this bakery my whole life, for every occasion. We will not be returning. We purchased a birthday cake a week or so ago. It was absolutely the worst cake I've ever consumed. Whipped cream tasted like store brand whipped topping. The cake was dry and tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for a few days. It was so bad, I was embarrassed to serve it. What a shame. This bakery use to be spectacular. I'd have a better experience getting my baked goods from Costco. Do Better. read more

My daughter was looking for a "book" cake for my daughter-in-law's 30th birthday. My daughter decided on a "Chapter 30" theme for the bday girl who is an avid reader. I reached out to a friend who has done cupcakes for a couple of celebrations prior. Walked in around 6 pm, they close at 7 so I didn't expect the brownies I got to be so fresh! Very fudgey and cold! They were absolutely delicious. You also can't beat the price. The girls behind the counter were friendly as well. Can't wait to try more items. read more

I grew up in the area and there was a bakery that made chocolate layer cake with chocolate buttercream filling and chocolate fudge icing, but they are out of business. But fortunately you can order this type of cake at A & G, the only downside is they only make in large sizes costing more money. They should offer in the standard size but won't. But I will say the last one we got was AWESOME! Totally recommend! (But again they should offer in standard size) read more

Tips: buy the rainbow cookies! Pros: variety of delicious Italian pastries, quick service Cons: none When you walk in you are taken back by the variety of baked goods they have available. I purchased an assorted variety just by how tasty they appeared. The only treat whose name I know was the rainbow cookie. They were all excellent. This is the first bakery I got to try while in Long Island. I love the quaint bake shop and the workers were very patient with me as I was browsing over the many cookies and pastries. My review is really based on being from the south and this being the first legit Italian bake shop I've been to, but maaaaan was it a great start to the journey! I used to care little for cannolis, but after I tried theirs, my perspective is now at the other end of the spectrum. As is all of the other pastries I tried, it was so flaky and soft, and the cream on the inside so tasty without being overly sweet. They had a really nice selection and everything was so fresh. I suggest if you're in the area to give the little shop a go, it will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth. read more

I recently ordered a strawberry shortcake for my mom's birthday. When I went to pick it up, it didn't have strawberries on top the way it normally does. When I asked about this, I was told that this is now an extra charge. An 8" round cake was $35, and the charge for the strawberries on top would push it to almost $40. I was really disappointed to discover an extra charge like this, as you'd think a strawberry shortcake would have strawberries on top :) The staff member was apologetic that this hadn't been mentioned before, as I've been getting this cake here for years (it's my mom's favorite) and when I ordered this option/new charge wasn't discussed. She offered to put them on for the additional charge, but there really wasn't room for them on the cake. I was really surprised, as I had tried to go to this bakery a few months ago to order a cake for my baby shower and was told that they no longer offer any type of customized cake decorating beyond icing flowers. I ended up having to go somewhere else. They also didn't offer the size I was looking for, and the prices were pretty expensive. I'm happy to spend more money for quality, but to have increasingly limited choices while making customers pay more and more just makes me feel like I might need to start looking for a new local bakery. UPDATE: Taste of the cake itself wasn't that great There really weren't a lot of strawberries in the middle and they tasted kind of tart. read more

I order a cake to be picked up on Father's Day at 12pm. The normal hours of the bakery are Listed 8-5 on Sunday. I forgot to pick It up at 12. I called at 2:58 to ask about the cake and was told that they just locked the doors. I said someone should have called me. My cake was there paid in full and I was late. I asked if they could wait for me to pick it up. Some nasty lady got on the phone and said we all have lives, we all have fathers, and we all want to spend time with them and hung up on me. I have been going here over 20 years. I have never had an issue. But to be so rude to a customer when you should have called was just nasty. I guess I shouldn't have paid in full. Maybe I would have got a phone call so they could collect the rest of the money. I am so disappointed. I will never go back there again and I am disputing the charge for the cake I didn't get! UPDATE: I spoke with the owner who was very apologetic. Unfortunately, he had an employee that doesn't share the same customer values as him. I am glad to say that he made it right and I don't have to go to another bakery. I am so happy. So they are back up to 5 stars in my book! Thank you. read more

I'm not one who normally bashes business but this time I can't keep my mouth shut. My now 6 year old has been counting down to his birthday for 8 months. All he has been talking about is a hot wheels cake. I decided that rather than go to the grocery store, I'd try out A & G Bakery Inc. I went in, explained what I was looking for. I was told that while they can't do the one in the picture on an 8inch round, they can match the colors, - green, orange, yellow, etc. Perfect! Today came and this is what we got... my son is besides himself.... I called and asked to speak to a manager who apologized but claimed that what was on the order sheet. I said I don't care what's on the order sheet, I had a 10 minute conversation with the girl about what I was looking for and how am I to know that buttercream doesn't come in colors??!!!! read more

A & G Bakery is located very close to where I live - matter of fact, it's really the only bakery I know of in the immediate area. They have the typical variety of cakes, pies, cookies by the pound and other baked goods. They make a real good brownie, and they have been my go-to place for cakes to get as culinary hostess presents for the last six years. Have they all been great? No, but the overwhelming majority of cakes purchased from A & G have been well-received and enjoyed. Even the few that haven't aren't bad. If I could give the bakery 10 stars I would! This bakery is amazing. All the cakes, cookies and pastries are delicious. I have not had anything that wasn't super yummy. And Everytime I get a cake from this bakery I get asked where it was from because of how good it is. They prices are also super reasonable. I go in there every birthday and holiday to by cakes and never feel like I am breaking the bank. read more

This is a good Italian bakery in the area. We tried small cannolis, raspberry rolls and other small pastries just to sample. All items were pretty good. I did feel like they were pricey compared to other places but definitely a good place to indulge in sweet pastries. read more

After my disappointing experience yesterday from one of the staff, the owner reached out and absolutely did his best to satisfy me. I am sure that if he was there I would have gotten my cake yesterday. I am so glad that we got to speak and he was very upset that this happened. Sometimes things go wrong, but its how you react to the situation that shows what kind of person you are. I didn't have the cake I wanted for my birthday, so I substituted with cupcakes. But A&G wanted to be sure that I got my cake because it was the right thing to do. Thank you very much! I hope to be coming back for another 20+ years! read more

One of, if not the best bakery on Long Island. Generations of my family have been coming here since we've been in the area. To this day, A&G has the best cannolis we've ever had. I'd say they rival the best in NYC. Their banana cream pie is also something to write home about. You really cannot go wrong here! We will keep coming here as long as you are around! read more

I have been coming here for yearsssss. For anyone who's local knows this place is located in the corner of the "tic toc" plaza (old school!) .. anyway .. recently I've been in here a few times to grab a bunch of cannolis, napoleons, and their tiramisu cake! I love their cannolis and their tiramisu cake is so light and fluffy unlike some of those dense, filling cakes that I've had in the past. It's usually not my go to spot but it is very reliable and I do love their cakes, almond cookies are also another plus! Best place in N Babylon/Deer Park. It's huge and you can get anything here. Their cakes are delish, the canolis are wonderful, and the cookies... YUM! I wouldn't go any where else. Be careful, they are busy busy around the holidays! read more

I was a little hesitant after my first experience but they were listed in my LI Cafe Passport book I got for Christmas and I want to go to all the spots in that book even if I'm revisiting. My second experience was much better so I'm upping my review to 4 stars. The staff was nicer this time. I opted for a pour over because that's what the book recommended and I got the cherry vanilla latte as well with half and half. I was able to sit in the coffee shop because I had dropped my son off at a birthday party and had a little time before I picked him up. I caught up on watching Friday Night Smackdown before elimination chamber with headphones on of course so I wouldn't disturb other people and I finished a book I was reading. The seating was nice, an optional variety of different kinds of seats and lots of seating. The latte was very smooth, you could definitely taste the coffee more in the pour over but that was good, the coffee went down nicely, not a lot of bitterness. So Jack Jack's redeemed themselves in my eyes almost ten years after my first review and I would be able to recommend going to them. Babylon Bean will still be my favorite coffee shop in Babylon but both of them are nice to visit. Original Review: March 22, 2016 I came here after picking up my jacket from the dry cleaners. I didn't like it very much at all and am happy to say my heart and my business will continue to go to the Babylon Bean! The baristas did not seem happy at all when they helped me. They weren't rude but they weren't sweet or nice either. I chose a brownie to eat and got a cup of regular coffee. The coffee was okay, not horrid but for sure not great. The brownie was disgusting. I couldn't eat the whole thing ended up throwing it on the ground for the birds to eat. This place also has a hipster vibe, sometimes I can dig it but sometimes I can't. So in my personal experience if the babylon bean and this place had a throw down I would always favor the bean!

It didn't feel like a part of the dish. It was sprinkled on top like a last minute afterthought. There was also a brown rotting avocado on top. When I called the restaurant to complain, they blamed the driver, instead of owning up to and trying to rectify the situation. Last I checked, drivers don't prepare food. I do not recommend ordering takeout from here.
