This is a very cute shop with lots of different dessert options. Inside reminds me of a grandmas sitting area. I ordered a bicenza, (hot chocolate with espresso and a biscotti) which although it was good, was very expensive and there are no prices posted any where. Planning a trip back to get more cake pops ASAP! Went today for some Irish soda bread and left with an additional two rainbow cake pops. The Irish soda bread was not the traditional one I was expecting but instead had citrus undertones. I think there is candied orange baked inside. It is quite good though just a bit unexpected. I hate to give bad reviews but when it comes to food I think it's important to give feedback. I had a pastry. Looked delicious. Tasted not great but then stomach cramp. I don't know it it might have been old or needed refrigeration but something wasn't right with it. I don't think I'll go back because once this happens I find another place. So sad to say this but , the price point is that of Manhattan and the quality has plummeted in our opinion - scones used to be delicious , now a mouthful of dried up flavorless nothing - especially the blueberry , which used to be delicious !!! Torta Fina Bakeshoppe is one of the best bakeries around. There is such a wide variety of options. It is the go to place if you're visiting and really want to impress the guests. My favorite is not available all the time, but I would imagine you can special order it. I love their caramel, pecan, and chocolate torte. It's almost like a giant candy bar. It's readily available around the holidays. If you try it, you will be back for more (and more). I also recommend their Hummingbird Cake. It tastes like a bite of spring. I tried the chocolate cake pops and would say they were the best I've ever had. The staff is amazing too. read more

This is a really good bakery, located in Babylon. I used to patronize the one in Commack until it closed doors several years ago. Yesterday I ordered the banana pudding. It was just ok, nothing like the one sold at the Magnolia Bakery in Greenwich Village. I also had the yellow cupcake with chocolate icing. That was also okay. Nevertheless, the bakery is basically the best in Suffolk County. It has plenty of City-fied goods to offer. That is why I am giving it four stars. read more

Sausage pie Made only around Thanksgiving time, it contains sweet Italian Fennel Sausage, Mozzarella, Ricotta, and Parmigiana Cheese. The look of this pie is quite striking, a work of edible art! I didn't know what to expect when I heard they made such a pie, and what it turned out to be was definitely different than anything I imagined. Essentially it's similar to a quiche lorraine, with crumbled sausage instead of bacon, and less of an egg texture for the filling. Instead, it's savory, creamy and rich. A slice would be good with breakfast, accompanied by an egg. If I had one complaint, it's that it doesn't have enough sausage in there. Dulce De Leche Chocolate Fudge Cookie A dollop of soft caramel atop a thick chocolate cookie, drizzled with chocolate. They had a shop at the Christmas Market and I had bought the chocolate chip cookies along with the dark chocolate brownie. They were soooo delicious! Chocolate chip cookies were thin and crispy just how I like them. The brownie was so decadent and rich tasting. They also had Christmas donuts and my daughter had one. Extremely happy with our two custom ordered cakes. One was with a white chocolate cage on the outside with black and white cake and cannoli filling inside. Fresh, beautiful and delicious. Only negative was the flower which was fake so we topped with our own fresh sunflower. Beautiful! The second cake was a "naked" cake. Bananas foster inside. Delicious and absolutely beautiful! I stumbled upon here by accident. On Saint Patrick's Day another shop in Babylon Village posted that Torta Fina dropped off *gluten free* irish soda bread as a present. 1) I love local businesses having a good relationship with each other and 2) Gluten Free Irish Soda Bread!! I haven't seen any since I went gluten free years ago. I called and they kindly held a loaf aside for me. When I arrive I decided to get a second loaf for my fiancé's family as well (his mom and grandma are gluten free). My family, his family, and I all loved the bread. My mom doesn't like a lot of sugar so she would have liked if there was an option without so much sugar on top, but she brushed off a lot of it and still enjoyed the bread. Torta Fina's prices were definitely steep, so I can't frequent here as much as I'd like, but I can't wait to come back and try something else. Visit Date: August 2, 2013 I've been here before but I didn't feel I could review it until today. I walked into the bakery this morning before getting on my train, I was in desperate need of a good cup of coffee. I knew I could get a great cup at the Babylon Bean but I had limited time and was passing torta fina on the way to the train station. I walked in and ordered a cappuccino with skim milk and took a linzer tart with me to eat at some point during my work day. The cappuccino was just what I needed after sipping two cups of terrible coffee, torta fina provided the good cup I needed to kick start my day. I ate the linzer tart on my lunch break, it was absolutely divine. If I could take a bite of heaven this could be it! The tart was so fresh, the crust a perfect proportion of slightly buttery flavor and sweetness. The jam inside was perfect and the powdered sugar was an awesome final touch to complete this favorite tart of mine! I've sampled many linzer tarts and torta fina definitely makes an awesome one! I will be back here once in awhile for occasional sugary treats! I think this bakery is expensive my coffee and tart price wasn't all that bad but even though the goods are worth it if you are on a budget just beware, unless you allow a good budget for a nice cake than come here and get it! read more
