Got the job done, but $110 for an '89 VW is really steep. I understand it takes more time (have to put it on the dyno) BUT really!? The van burns clean and always passes, and the process took 20 mins instead of 10, I don't see the justification. When other shops charge $60 I feel gauged. read more

My check engine light was on which means an automatic fail. By law these places are suppose to tell you that they see the light is on and stop the test without charge. This place completed the test, told me I failed because of the light and then charged me $30. I would recommend the Smog Center Inc on 968 Piner Road instead. The price is $80 but they run an honest business and will tell you if the test is going to fail ahead of time so you don't waste money. read more

A Plain and simple service. I called A&G Smog Check, was greeted nicely on the phone. Asked a few questions, got the answers I needed. I was asked if I knew about the coupon. Found the coupon through their website, printed it up, and brought it with me. Their shop was easy to find. After getting out of my car, I was greeted by the host who took my coupon, registration, and car keys; she prepared my invoice, while the shop's technician smog tested my car. My car past! The cost was lower than any other smog station that I have been to, and the fastest that I have ever witnessed, approximately 10 minutes. I am going to share this outcome with my family and friends. This was a good experience, usually a smog check cost more money, and takes much more time. I am quite pleased with this company and their service. Look forward to next time and hope that others feel the same as I do. Stay away! These people try to make your vehicle fail. Went in today for a smog. Was told the O2 sensor wasn't ready yet. Charged me $39 for doing nothing. I got home and ran a smog check and she passed fine. Reported them to the BAR. **update** I did a smog check via the obd2 computer. She passed fine and yes you did charge $39. SMH. read more

I took my vehicle here on December 15, 2023 for a smog check for a registration transfer.The person who did the intake wrote it up and asked for my keys.I gave them to him. He proceeded to take my car around the back of the shop because another vehicle was being serviced. When my car was returned, I paid and went out to my car. I immediately noticed that my car had been scratched along the side and the mirror. I went in and confronted the man and told him that the car did not have a scratch on it when he took it. I told him that he had done it. He said, "prove it". What was I supposed to do? Take before pics while there? When I left my home that morning, my roommate saw the car with no damage. I drove to my mother's and she walked me out of her house. No damage. I drove straight to A & G. No damage until the car was returned to me. The callous disregard for my property could not have been more evident. I would like to be able to contact the owner of this company,and report this employee , but there is only a phone number to the shop. Therefore I am leaving this one star,review wish I could leave 0. Someone needs to take responsibility for this. I had the car for three days before he damaged it. read more
