Single women stay away!! last year in march, I had a new battery put in at Sonoma county auto, and less than a year later I find out they put in the wrong battery, didn't register it (part of regular service when putting in a new battery), wasn't powerful enough for my engine and created more problems. In June, I had a cooling hose replaced and front breaks there also, but they didn't install the hose clamps properly and caused fluid to continue to spray all over my engine and under neath my car, by july ( a few weeks later) something was dragging under my car and I went in (kinda freaked out, seemed dangerous) but LouLou said they were at lunch and to come back in an hour- (a few people sitting in the office eating) .... so I came back in two hours BUT it looked like tHE mechanic and the Lady were leaving and the lady told me to come back the next MONDAY, very dismissive , but then the man got out of his car and ripped the hanging part out from my car and said it should be fine, .... I was stunned. It was 3:30 on Friday afternoon- and front desk girl wanted to go home- dismissed me again. NOW 2026, I got a new mechanic, of course..and the new mechanic said there are several issues including the battery and under my car there is a small hole in a hose which caused a slow oileak and splashed OIL under my car because there was no cover.... Leaving it exposed to road debris. My car is older but I have taken it in anytime I had the slightest issues. But now $5k later it's in worse shape than ever and would be thousand of dollars to clean and repair all these issues. My car is the shop again, Again because my battery- so Today- I called Sonoma auto to check the warranty on the battery they installed and got nothing but rude helpless answers from the front desk person. . Sh treats me like I annoyed her. Except, I'm a paying customer. Not there to make friends with LouLou. She's rude or she's just covering for the faulty services I received. Or both- sometimes, just taking reasonability for action is all a person needs to hear. But being meet with more dismissive behavior will only add fuel to the fire. Take responsibility, be accountable and treat customers like customers. read more

I met Chris at his old shop. Helped me buy my old car back from him at a fair cost. The car has sentimental value to me,and after the work was done,because I had already sold it to him, he let me get it back. They have been my mechanic ever since. Work s excellent. Fair prices. You feel they are telling you what you need to do to maintain your car properly. They don't upsell. If anything, they downsell if that is a word meaning if another shop told you needed something, SCAC will give you the choice of a bigger job or a less expensive option. Nice people. I went to Valvoline to get an oil change and was told I had a leak, so I needed to bring my car to a mechanic. I went next door to Sonoma County Auto Care and was seen right away even though I didn't have an appointment to verify the issue of the vehicle. Everyone at the shop was extremely kind, helpful and informative. I also learned that it would've been much cheaper to get an oil change and tire rotation if I would've gone there in the first place. So glad I know that now for future oil changes. I would highly recommend this auto shop and wish I knew about it earlier. I was very impressed with how they treated me as a customer! read more

I love this place they always do a great job on my Prius V (and the ancient Prius I owned before that). I have been coming here for many years. They have great prices and are thorough and honest. I used to live right up the block from this place and even though I moved away I still come back because of the great service. They never try to upsell me on things I don't need and offer suggestions (at several price points) when they think that I need them. Their waiting room is pretty small, so I bring a camping chair and a book with me to sit outside when I have an appointment. There isn't that much walking distance from this location. Oil changes are also very quick, so I would go shop at Yarnitudes (now closed) or the antiques store next door. This is a great place and I recommend this auto shop to all of my local friends and family. read more

Only had a two day wait for an apt, the day of I dropped my car off at 10am and it was ready by 3pm. I've been going there since they opened and they've always done their best, being honest when something is beyond their capabilities and doing good work at VERY reasonable prices. The dealer told me I needed new rear brakes for $340. I bought the pads and SCAC put them on for $40...... You'd be hard pressed to find a cheaper oil service place anywhere!!! read more

A week after being told my brakes were fine by a shop in another town, my brakes began making a crazy noise. I can't even tell you how much I love these guys!!! I keep updating this review and will continue until Yelp figures a way to let us leave multiple reviews Chris and Scott saved me from getting scammed in a used car deal with Infiniti of Marin. Those assholes at the dealership sold me a vehicle that had damage prior to them selling it to me that they should have disclosed because I asked straight out. The repair work done wasn't done by Chevy or probably even a real mechanic, so the "remainder of the warranty " would have been moot. So much wetness on the engine due to leaks that were undetected due to no pooling under the vehicle and I have no way of lifting the vehicle to check the engine, so there's that. Chris and Scott took less than a few minutes to see all that was wrong with the vehicle with their keen eyes and experience as professionals.... Went in for an oil change and to have our faulty A/C looked at--turns out we needed our condenser replaced along with some belts. I really appreciate that these guys talked me through the repairs, and were happy to show me the damaged piece and make sure all my questions were answered. It goes a long way to building trust. Furthermore, I noticed our belts were squeaking a few weeks after the repairs. Took it back in, and they immediately took care of it at no cost, wait or fuss.
