7:30 am on a Thursday in Santa Rosa... My truck broke down on the way to make a delivery... AAA towed it (and me) to Coogler's on a recommendation from a friend who knows these guys. Stressed? You know it! Concerned about the work that would be done and how long it would take and what it would cost? Absolutely! Who isn't stressed out when their car breaks down, and they're going to a new auto mechanic??? Greeting me in the lobby were three of the nicest guys who just got into work and were in a better mood than I was... Things were looking up already... Jeff was my repair coordinator, and he immediately put me at ease and let me know that they would do everything they could to get me back up and running ASAP. I quickly booked a rental truck and Ubered to the rental location to get it and bring it back to swap the goods and get back on track. One of the technicians (Scott maybe?) helped me make the swap (above and beyond? Yup!) Quick communication on Coogler's part with some texts and emails told me they had found the problem and were on the case. Estimated time to repair? End of today or tomorrow at the latest. That's fast, I thought... Good news too because I've got more deliveries coming up. 'Tis the season... Fast forward ~4 hours and I'm getting a call from Jeff telling me my truck was ready to pick up (pun intended). What?!?!?! 4 hours and it's done!!! Got back to the rental shop, got one of their guys to take me back to Coogler's, and was back in my truck at 1:30 pm. Since then, a couple of genuinely concerned calls and emails asking if everything is still going well with the truck. Normally, when I do business with someone, they only call to ask if we can do more business. This was actual follow-up and quite refreshing. Will I work with Coogler's again? You bet I will! It's not often that you find genuine honest work being done on cars. (Cooglers is the place). I went in for a tire rotation and balance at Les Schwab in Windsor, they do great work for tires. Some mechanic tried to catch me for a full rear break job. Said my driver rear caliper was seized... quoted me fore new rotors, calipers, pads, 2x cost on all the parts and $700 of labor and pushed for both sides. Mind you I have put new motors in cars, I am a handy guy. The truck was showing no symptoms of a seized caliper so brought it into Cooglers for a second opinion based on quality reviews. Worked with Daniel who got me in a couple days ahead of schedule. Did a full inspection and said that the truck is in great shape and nothing needs to be done. I know that my business is appreciated and that they will go an extra step. What I really appreciate is that after my car has been inspected prior to work beginning, I will see an email that leads me to the recommendations made by my mechanic. It clearly describes the suggestions and allows me to select the ones I'm ready to authorize right away. Tires went bad and I assumed it was the alignment. Made an appointment, bought tires before I brought it in and they tested it twice and it came back not needing an alignment. They didn't charge me. They could have just said they did the work or did a unnecessary thing just to get a payment but instead they went with honestly and generosity. Wow, old school customer service. I live in the Eastbay. I am buying a used car in the Santa Rosa area and I needed a last minute pre-purchase inspection. I choose Coogler's because their Yelp reviews and as a referral from another local auto repair company in the same area. The other shop was to booked up to help me. Walked into the Coogler's and i was greeted very warmly by Karl and the other crew sitting at the front desk. Karl said he could not inspect my car in the am, but If I came back at two pm they would do an inspection Came back at 2 pm and the inspection took about two hours. Karl gave me a copy of the inspection with pictures and written information about the car. He also gave me estimates for all needed repairs. I thought that was very cool and helpful. All of the staff I encountered at this location were very professional and super friendly. I was offered snacks, something to drink and a very comfortable place to relax. If I lived in this city I would 100% bring my car for repairs to this location. Very professionally runed auto repair shop. It was also very clean and comfortable. Went to Coogler's a few months ago for my smog check & liked their personable staff, the location, & waiting area. Fast forward to this week & needing automotive service for 2 tires each with a screw in tread by sidewall so they ordered 2 tires to replace which had to come from Reno due to special tires, & changed the oil while I was there yesterday afternoon. Today I was able to get the new tires mounted & balanced on my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Karl was knowledgeable & helpful as well as patient with my questions. My first review was 1 star. But after the owner called me and we had a good talk and found out it was a mistake on what had happened. I decided to change my rating. So they did win me back as a customer. You should note if you see a bad review call that customer and talk to them. That to me is the quickest way to win back a customer. It's the little things that count. Now the only reason I am not going to do 5 stars is due to their tech. The thing in the middle of the tire was there but if he looked closer he would of seen it didn't go in deep enough to cause a problem (it didn't hit the coils). But I think he just stopped when he saw the screw in the sidewall that also didn't go in deep enough to matter. So I think a little more training is needed. BUT overall I'm happy. read more

I've taken my car there once. Is it "great?" I can't really answer that, but it's definitely better than "good." It was also a whole lot cheaper than taking it to the dealership. That's a big bonus. I did love the constant updates on my cell phone regarding what had been done and what needed to be done.
