We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework. They took care of a drywall+door installation and a bathroom fan replacement. Among the 4 contractors we contacted for this, they were the only ones showing up in person to provide a quote. The others only asked for pictures and provided quotes based on those. The quote from Jose & Angela was very reasonable. A couple of times, as it is often the case, the project required some extra costs due to the unforseen conditions of the door and the fan we purchased. Jose was very transparent in describing the reasons of the additional costs and updated our contract immediately both times. At each step we knew what we were paying for why. Based on our experience, this is not something to be taken for granted. The final job was absolutely high quality. Moreover, Jose and his team did all they could to minimize the impact of dust etc on the rest of the house. I am very happy we (somewhat randomly, via Angi) got to connect with them. They will certainly be our first choice for any future work on the house that falls within their expertise.

I am a bit if a quality freak, pertaining to the carpet quality itself, and importantly the installation--this was primarily due to a poor installation we had from another vendor a couple years ago... I researched installers, and Tom had great reviews, so we reached out to him for advice and a bid. Tom couldn't have been nicer, and it was very clear he knew what he was talking about. He came out to the house, took measurements and discussed various options, trade offs between different brands and materials, pads, etc., including what would be needed to accommodate the in-floor heat, how seams would look and perform across different carpet materials, etc. This process was thorough, and really hi-lighted Tom's decades of experience Importantly, Tom listened to what was important to us, did his homework and provided some guidance -- I genuinely felt that the carpet selection guidance was unbiased, and based on facts and his experiences with different materials and installations...this gave us a lot of confidence, which we needed! Tom was patient with our selection process, and a great sounding board when choosing various brands and materials. This included some coaching on color, materials, longevity, installation factors, etc. We felt much more informed, and more confident about the carpet we decided on. re: Instalation Tom brought in two exceptional installers -- Johnny and Mikey (incredibly nice, and very considerate/tidy...real high-end pros) -- and he walked through the installation with them prior to getting started It was very evident that we were in good hands -- I try not to hover, but am always interested/curious how things are done...Johnny and Mikey were clearly expert installers, workmanship was exceptional and we couldn't be happier with the flawless job they did Tom checked in throughout the installation, and was very deliberate in the final inspection making sure that he and we were satisfied with the carpet and the installation I honestly am a stickler on doing things right, and am so happy with the way that this process went, from the help with selection to the quality of the materials, and of course the perfect installation -- We are very happy, and I can't say enough how strongly I recommend Tom Becker. There was caulk along the border between the wall and the tile that had to be scraped off before it could be painted and look at how clean the line is now! I love fun colors and with something this bright it's important that every angle be clean otherwise any mistakes are glaringly obvious. You can see how nicely everything was cut in and they always do such a great job protecting things that are not being painted and then cleaning up afterwards. And they always love up on my dog, which she enjoys! Dog tax included - in that picture, you can see the cool ceiling Pro Painters did for me a few years back.

I prepared the floor exactly as Chuck at J.O.Thompson suggested. Chuck inspected the floor before scheduling the installation, telling me the floor preparation was very good. I specifically asked Chuck about the samples which he provided, which were not flat, and if this would affect how they stayed stuck to the floor. Chuck assured me his installer would stick them firmly to the floor without a problem.

The Women's Drum Center was doing a major facelift to create a percussion appreciation center. The…read moreold carpet was from a big box store and had duct tape along the seams of the three sections. J.O. Thompson was recommended to me and I could not be happier. I met Chuck at the store to discuss my issues and we scheduled a visit to the Women's Drum Center where they made recommendations for a transition edge to allow us to move loading carts over the edges and not create a tripping hazard. They also recommended heat sealing the 3 sections so it appears as one large piece! JOT came in the day before to remove the old carpeting allowing us to mop the floor. They ran the new carpeting all the way to the wall providing a much cleaner look and cutting around a large column. The quality of the new carpet is so nice on bare feet. The work team was efficient, respectful and did a great job cleaning up after the installation.
