Lazy work! My sister asked for color 108 (nude) ; after, her nail tech asked me for my color, I told her mine would be white. My sister was patiently waiting for her to add the color on top of a white "primer" the nail tech added but apparently that was a white gel coat. My sister reminded her she asked for color 108 and the tech completely ignored what she said and continued to paint her nails white. My sister then asked for her to change the color and she proceeded to say "oh no , maybe next time." There will not be a next time. We came for a service to be fulfilled and it was ignored even if there was a misunderstanding, I feel she should have fixed her mistake instead of insisting for a "next time". read more

I've used this salon one other time a while back, and I was happy with the service I received. I was going as a walk in yesterday 11/3/23. The salon was busy so I made an appointment for 2.5 hours later with Cory, who I had last time I was there. The front desk indicated Cory would be my tech. I also told them I am diabetic, so no skin cutting including cuticle's. I repeated the instructions a second time. I got to the salon right on time, and I was handed off to another young man. Ok, it was too far for me to go back home and wait, or come another time. I live too far away to come back, so I had a seat while the tub was filling up with very hot water. I pulled my feet out and and told the young man the water was too hot. His response was to start working on my feet without soaking them. I asked him to please trim my nails shorter than he was doing. He filed them instead, and I kid you not, he swiped over them twice on each nail. No filing, swipe. It was obvious he didn't understand or speak English. I didn't want to embarrass him or myself so I just sat there. It didn't take long for him to indicate he was finished. I'm surprised he didn't put polish on my nails, which I requested them not to do. 1 point in his favor. The cons were the foot message and the very quickly done, hot rock rub on the bottom of my feet, and the amount of time I was worked on. I was out in 20-25 minutes! Unfortunately the cons far outweighed any positive experience. Would I recommend A and J? It's a very busy salon, so I'd say, maybe. If your more aggressive at getting what you want, you might be satisfied. As for me, I'll take a pass and try out a salon closer to my home. There are so many salons around town, just like a Starbucks on every corner. For the $30 plus tip it cost me, I think I'll just go to a podiatrist. It's free with my insurance. They just don't have a spa chair. read more

The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because MY experience was what I expected. I wanted to take my boyfriend to get his first pedicure, but we decided last minute and went with this salon because of the reviews. I was very excited he was going to have his first experience and wanted to make sure he got the best possible service. He works hard on his feet and I wanted him to feel pampered. We asked for two deluxe pedicures, we were seated almost immediately, everyone was polite, and seemed like they were happy to help us. An older lady started my boyfriend's pedicure first, and then my tech started no more than 5 minutes later. As we're getting our pedicures I noticed she hadn't scrubbed the bottom of his feet, while my tech was scrubbing away and he was already farther into his pedicure. I even told him "I can't wait till she scrubs your feet." Little did I know she wouldn't do half the services included in the deluxe. The older lady finishes his pedicure without doing the scrubbing, the hot stones, AND the massage. I asked my boyfriend after if she did these services and he said no. (I already knew she didn't because I was paying attention the whole time) So, I politely ask her to do the services and she plays innocent and says she did them in a innocent tone. (This was me giving her a chance to complete the service) I looked away because debating with her there would not have gotten the results I was looking for. As we go up to pay I told the desk assistant that we got 1 deluxe service and 1 basic service. He confirms with the lady and still asks me to pay for 2 deluxe. I explain to him that she didn't do the scrubbing, hot stones, or massage. He proceeds to tell me she's claiming she completed all the services. I stuck with what happened and he called over another lady. I explain to her the situation, she tried to give me $5 off and I said "No, she didn't complete his services, my tech did everything right but his didn't." Luckily she charged me for 1 basic and 1 deluxe. This experience was unfortunate for my boyfriend considering it was his first pedicure experience. I'll be going back to my original salon in PD, called Vinny's nails, they're amazing. read more

I walked in at like 4:05pm on a Sunday and they were very busy so I figured they wouldn't have time to take my walk in before they closed at 5:00 pm. But they told me yes and had me seated right away. When the woman started my pedicure, she asked if I wanted a manicure. I said I would if they had time for both. So I ended up getting both. I was out by 5:08 pm. The people here are very nice and I was surprised how quickly they worked. Especially because they took time to do things well. I rarely leave reviews after only one visit somewhere. But I can here on a recommendation of a friend and will definitely will be returning. read more

I went in today as a walk in. After carefully reviewing other nail salons near me, the fact that this place had all stars is what called me over. I ended up coming today with an open mind. Not anymore I've been going sometimes there good other depending who you get they rush and drop you for a white customer. Today as I was getting my pedicure they remove the lady working on me so she can help a white customer. I wasn't even half way done when the new girl polish my nails and done. Then another guy came came to do my nails all in a hurry left me half ways to go get my eyelashes done so now I have half ass pedicure and half ass nails to get my lashes done. Why? I've observed them and no one has been moved around as they did me today and other times this time I had it. So I left crying asking why they would treat a paying customer just like anyone else. Keep in mind I asked when I walk in if they had time I would've been more then happy to make an appointment as long as my services be done right not how they treated me. I have been getting my nails done at A & J nails since I moved to Indio approximately 3 years ago minus 1 COVID year. I began making appointments ahead of time requesting Tim or Jack because there were times I was unhappy with a few other technicians. About five days ago I called and made an appointment for a dip and a pedicure with Tim for 10 am September 7. This was a critical appointment because I am scheduled to travel out of the country on Friday. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. The receptionist advised Tim I was here. (This is what I think she said). I was busy picking a color. Tim comes up to me and ask who I had an appointment with. My response was "you". I could see the confusion on his face. He went back to the customer he was servicing at the time. I went over to the receptionist and asked "what's going on, Tim seemed surprised I was there for him." She said she had me on the books for anybody. I explained that I always request Tim or Jack and whoever made the appointment made a mistake. Her response was Jack is not there today and Tim is booked all day. She made no apology nor tried to rebook me. I was very angry. As I was leaving Tim walked up and apologized. I left without a response. No need to respond because obviously my business was not important. I will not be returning! read more

Jack is literally the BESTEST!!! I always request him to do my pedicure and he never disappoints. He's super professional and friendly. He takes his time and makes you feel comfortable. He's also gentle which is what I love about him, as in the past some pedicures have been too rough for me. I been definitely a returning customer and will continue to be as long as Jack is there.
