I've been getting gel manicures and pedicures here for five months now and have really come to appreciate their service! They are friendly, helpful, and always working to please the customer. I ended up with a manicure that wasn't up to their standards and the owner redid my manicure at no cost.

This review is from September of 2024. I've been coming here for the last 3 years for my yearly birthday nail set. I usually only do them once a year since they can interfere with my job. I've come for a pedicure or eyebrow wax more often, and every time I''ve been here everyone has been very friendly. They usually greet you right away and can almost always fit you in as a walk-in. I've only ever had to wait more than 15 minutes 1 time. Clean facility and reasonable prices. Today, Phillip did my birthday nails for this year and he did an amazing job. Showed him a photo a couple of weeks ago when I was in for a pedi and booked an appointment to secure my spot. Hands down my favorite nail set, and I'm considering keeping them longer than I usually do. Definitely recommend coming here and highly recommend Phillip for your design needs. Thanks, Phillip, for making my birthday a little more special.

Initially, I really loved this place because it can be very relaxing, and it's also very clean. The other day, my wife and I made an appointment online for a classic mani/pedi which is the least expensive of all the choices. When we got there, they acted like they couldn't understand what we were saying. We finally caved in and let them do the more expensive mani/pedi. They continued to upsell by insisting we buff our nails, which we said no repeatedly. They did it anyway and charged us additional costs. Then they were trying to do our appointment really quickly so they could get on with other people so it was completely the opposite of relaxing and it came out to be about $90 for each of us. I have sent them an email, but with no reply. This is actually really disappointing and sad because I thought I had found my nail place, but they really don't care about their customers. Business is slow in the summer so they decided to take advantage of us. That's OK, but it will not happen again. I hope the extra $30.00 from each of us was worth them losing us as customers. read more

I have been going to City Nails for at least 5 years now. The staff has always been professional and efficient. Nini and all of staff are very nice. If you have a problem they will work to correct it or make any changes. I always change my nail color and they are so Patient!! The salon is clean and modern. I would recommend City Nails read more

I just had a wonderful pedicure at city nails and spa in La Quinta. They do wonderful, pedicures and manicures and really take care of the customers. They've got great massage chairs, and my nails have never looked better. Highly recommend them. read more

Rose my go-to for manicures and pedicures. I wandered into City Nails several years ago and was lucky enough to be placed with Rose and have never looked back. My mom also now regularly sees her. She is incredibly sweet and does such a great job. I prefer the Deluxe Pedicure which always has my feet looking and feeling great. read more

Probably the worst manicure I've ever had. These employees are minimally trained, from what I can tell. My manicurist dug into my cuticles so deeply and so quickly that I instinctively pulled away several times. No one should cut cuticles that FAST! I am home now in a bit of pain, sore fingers, and slight bleeding. It will take awhile for my cuticles to recover. They really need some more training. I only gave the extra star because they were pleasant. read more

I love coming to City Nails. I usually call for a same day appointment and Nini is always able to get me in at my convenience. I also love that Nini can do my fill while Kathy does my toes. I don't have a lot of time, so being able to have both done at the same time is much appreciated. Everyone at the salon is friendly and professional. read more

What a fabulous spa experience I had to day at the City Nails and Spa Salon in la quinta. I was fortunate to have Amy who gave me a beautifully created dip nail treatment with Bling! (See picture below). She was very skillful, worked quickly and was a very interesting and intelligent young lady to chat with. Later she enhanced my eyelashes with very natural and real hair extensions. Jan gave me a lovely and relaxing pedicure. The salon is very calming...but most important it is very clean and fresh. I was told City Nails is now under New management. Give yourself a treat and visit City Nails. Ask for lovely Amy and Jan. read more

While the quality of the pedicure was good except I came home to find out they did not really do the callus removal as they should have as I still have a good amount of dry callus. The customer service that I experienced was saddening. When I told the lady doing my pedicure that the massage machine broke through the chair and caught my hair, she did not care nor did the other ladies around her. My hair is VERY long and that could have been really bad if I had not noticed as fast as I did. After I sat there uncomfortably for a couple minutes, they finally offered me a pillow. While that was nice, the pillows are so fluffy making the rest of the pedicure uncomfortable and unable for me to relax. She offered for me to move chairs when I was done with the pedicure to continue to get a massage since my mom was still getting hers done, but why would I want to turn another one of those machines on. When we went to pay, we informed 2 people who seemed to be in charge this day that the chair was broken and they also didn't care and one says "yes I saw". And while I know they are not required to offer a discount or anything, nothing was offered. Very disappointed with the customer service and lack of sympathy. Won't be going back. read more

I have been a client for close to 3 Years. I had services from Cat in La Quinta and then followed…read moreher to the Palm Desert location until she was asked to leave after requesting a few weeks off (unpaid) to care for a family member. She gave me two referrals to go back to the La Quinta center as I live in La Quinta. I had three visits with Emily. On the second visit I included eyebrow waxing. I found when I washed my face and removed the exaggerated eyebrow pencil later that day, I saw that I was left with a big hole at the tail end of my left eyebrow. On my third visit (a month later) I showed Emily the result of her wax damage and she said "let's watch it until your next visit". I left the appointment after scheduling my next appointment at the reception desk for later in June 2026. I happened to receive my credit card statement and noticed that I was charged $64 from my third visit. As I said, I have been a client for 3 years. During that time, I purchased contracts for Brazilian wax (which I modify at my own request), Upper thigh, and eyebrows. I have received the same services as described above under the prepaid agreement. I have consistently modified the upper thigh to include the back of my thigh only as that is really all that I require. When I contacted the Center and asked what the charge was for, I was told that my contract is only for the "inner thigh" and therefore, I was charged the $64 for waxing the back of my upper thigh. Never, ever, was any added charges made on my credit card after any of my previous visits. Plus and most concerning, the charge was put on my Mastercard the Center has on file WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. I made my followup appointment after my service and I left. There was ample time to speak to me about the impending secret charge while I was making another appointment. My following conversations (after the discovery of the charge on my Mastercard) with their management representative, I asked for a full refund of monies I have on account. I did not want to get services from this company any longer. I was told I needed to either forfeit the credit or take a gift card to be used at the Center. In my opinion, if in fact it was decided that the prior services I received were different from the services described that I paid for, I should have been notified during my visit or called thereafter. It should NEVER have been that I was secretly charged an additional fee. Needless to say, I can not afford to walk away from over $413 (after cancellation fee has been taken from the actual amount on hand). So, I am thinking about different ways to complete my contract with European Wax Center and NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. Leslie R.

Then the cashier was insistent on my zip code and information for all the cards that I've ever had on file and said it's ALWAYS been EWC policy since they opened to get all of the information EVERY TIME a card is used ( this feels like a scam and an attempt to obtain personal information) I know this isn't the case because I have been to many EWC locations across the US and have NEVER been asked for it, it's scan and go! Never have I been asked for info on my card. Needless to say this was not the best visit or a favorite location anymore.

I got an extremely fucked up septum piercing here with chip and his gorilla wife. Not only did he…read morepierce it extremely low, crooked, AND the ball fell off immediately which is further proof he was rushing and did not tighten it. He blamed me for "twitching". If you look at the piercing where he initially started before said twitch you will see that he already placed the piercing far too low. I got a lobe and septum. He never counted down nor did he talk to me before or after the piercing and I believe he used the same needle. I received NO care sheet or instructions on how to take care of my piercing. The whole experience was god awful. When I politely asked if it was supposed to be that low him and his wife said yes. After feeling like I fucked up my whole face in the car and crying I built the courage to kindly and discreetly inform them of this. They tell him that "I don't like it" and he says, "Well if she doesn't like it she can take it out." He was obviously very upset. mind you, during the piercing, he made me extremely uncomfortable and when I tried to hold my cousins hand he gave me no warning or time to. He yelled at me while holding the needle to my nose while I was fighting him that I'm not ready and I need to hold my cousins hand, he protests "No, No, No! You're not gonna hold her hand. No you're gonna mess me up!! Stop moving, I need you straight. No no no no holding nothing no" mind you I have a video of me sitting straight only moving my hand to get some support. I don't understand why somebody would continue to pierce my flesh with a needle in these conditions. or why he was rushing to do this. He made me extremely uncomfortable. So the ladies prep a chair to TAKE OUT MY FRESHLY PIERCED SEPTUM. IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL THEN YOU KNOW PIERCING 101 YOU NEVER TAKE A FRESHLY PIERCED PIERCING OUT. IT CAN CAUSE IRRUPT AND IRRATIONAL BLEEDING. He obviously had no idea what he was doing and his wife began to give me attitude because I said I wanted a refund at this point. (I still hadn't spoke to him directly he had his back turned to me.) His wife stands by his side (good for her, go down with your husband queen) saying they've done this for years. I could not believe their reaction to my complaint. She was smiling in my face repeating their idiotic solution to my problem which again i was "If you don't like it take it out we've been doing this for years." "It's not that I don't like it you guys messed up my face and now you're trying to do more damage when all I'm asking for is a refund. You can't take out a piercing so obviously you haven't been doing this for that long or he is not professional." "He's right there if you wanna tell him he's bad" she said that with a condescending face as if to strike fear in me. I turned to him and had pretty much the same argument with him except he gave me my refund and turned extremely pissy. I'm honestly surprised he didn't piss himself the way his neck vein came out. Overall terrible experience. I feel bad for the other people that have to work with this toxic couple. They obviously have a terrible relationship and are placing the weight of their troubles on their business. I should have been much more upset at these imbeciles for fucking up my face. There was a girl there who did my friends piercing before mine even though I arrived before her and I wish I had gotten her. Maybe if they weren't trying to rush through and had common sense they'd leave the job to the professionals. It's clear this place will suffer due to the managements clear ineptitude and hot headed service. Inshallah Karma does it's thing.

Love this place!!! It's not overly crowded and it really does feel like a relaxing spa. It is the cleanest salon in the desert! Most importantly, the shop doesn't have that nasty nail salon odor.
