Every job has been exceptionally well done, and we'll definitely hold them in high regard for our next project. Pros: They simply do great work, meeting or exceeding expectations every step of the way. Expert craftsmanship and tons of experience. Project managers take the hassle out of dealing with individual contractors. (David and James were great to work with.) They also anticipated concerns before I needed to mention them and even replaced some siding that I had damaged before. Cons: Among the most expensive options, but you do get what you paid for. Original estimate was about 20% less than the final bill. We paid significantly for upgrades to the counter top, the decking, and the porch ceiling. The estimate was based on the cheapest options evidently. The lesson I learned is to ask for those specifics at the time of the bids. (Possible other bidders did the same.) Had to hire a separate company to complete the gutters. They initially said they'd move it from the original roof line to the new one. In the end, they realized they were unable to do it and unwilling to refund anything. One mitigating factor is that another section needs to be built from scratch, so a gutter guy was going to be needed anyway. They don't do painting! Fortunately, we discovered Painting Solutions Houston who did a great job.

The smallest of details that most companies don't care about were put in to our new kitchen. I will be using them again for so much more in our home. They seemed overwhelmed post Harvey. They didn't really monitor subs and had some serious quality…read moreissues. We ended up hiring someone else to finish up - we fired them as ineffective. Likely they took on too many jobs post flood, and customers paid the price. Some ridiculously sloppy work was done- they installed window sill trim upside down and doors opening the wrong way! Dry wall was bad, paint was terrible, any carpentry was poor, and exterior work was borderline negligent. They damaged some areas they (or unmanaged subs) should not have been working in. No issue with reaching them as noted - somehow whenever we called "we must have just missed them as they were there earlier". EVERY screwup was "punchlist", as in unfinished carpentry, paint peeling off the cabinets, cabinets not built to spec, 1 inch dry wall gaps around electrical boxes, doors only primed, not painted. Horrendous. We sat with Mr Lujohn to design cabinets, then they delivered generic builds without the features we requested. Poorly build cabinets never truly aligned, so the drawers stick. Note the lack of professionalism by noting first and last name in responding to the review - Yelp censors last name to an initial for a reason. Watch these guys, use them at your peril!

It pains me to rescind stars from a review I previously made, especially since it was quite a few…read moreyears ago. However, recent events have brought many questions along with a lot of frustration to light. A bit of history: our house was built in late 1988. In April 2015 there was a significant hailstorm that our area experienced. Our roof at the time was obviously quite old, but the impact from the hail did it in. Under the recommendation of our insurance office, we contacted Strata Roofing to repair the roof on our 2800 square-foot home. In August of 2015 the roof was completely replaced. Fast forward now to July 2024. It's been 9 years since our roof was done, but Hurricane Beryl had other plans for us. An 80-foot tree fell, crushing the back part of our detached garage and eventually landed across the yard, damaging part of our main structure. Besides the partial rebuild of the actual house and garage, obviously our roof needed to be repaired. Only about one-third total of the roof needed to be replaced, but since our current contractor found that our shingles were no longer available, we decided to replace the entire roof to avoid having two different colored shingles. And this is where the truly alarming part of the story occurs: what a shock when we found that multiple areas of the decking (wood below the shingles) had huge (and I mean HUGE) holes in them, as well as some areas that had no decking at all! Now, multiple smaller holes are not uncommon from what I understand. But one hole that measured 3 feet by 2 feet? Or large enough to fit a child through? And a piece of missing decking altogether? Which leads us to speculate: did these holes occur prior to the roof being replaced by Strata and they just shingled over this deteriorated wood, ignoring the obvious need for replacement? Or did these holes occur after the roof was replaced, with shingles being inadequately applied resulting in water seeping under and then rotting out the decking? None of this, however, would explain a completely missing piece! Whatever the reason, it's obvious, in our opinion, that Strata did not do a satisfactory job in replacing our roof a mere 9 years ago. Fortunately, most of the holes were in areas that were above the soffits, so any leaks that may have resulted did not impact our interior. But one of the holes (the one the size of a child) was right above our kitchen breakfast area and the other 3' x 2' hole was above our attic, which probably did leak into our attic insulation. In all, our current contractor stated that it's normal to replace one to two partial pieces of decking using about one large piece of plywood. We, however, are on plywood piece number 5. Yikes! We thought Strata did an admirable job in 2015. Wow, were we fooled. We now believe that either Strata slapped up shingles without any thought of further roof repairs or something else went terribly wrong with their installation. Whatever the cause, I can't get beyond the fact that our original roof lasted 27 years and this one lasted 9. That is quite a difference. Be advised.

They were not the cheapest or highest, but their work looked better than most of the other roofs put on by other companies. John H came out to the house and I got a quote a few days later we were not in a hurry because we already had underlayment on the roof that was supposed to be good for 1 year. The roof has been on for several months and a few good storms with winds up to over 45 mph with no issues. A good rain does clean the dust and pollen off the roof and it looks new again. They were willing to wait until I got bricks on the house to finish installing the downspouts for the gutters. Had Berridge Double-Lock Zee-Lock Panels installed that were made onsite that took several days to install. Looks great after several months. I have recommended Strata roofing to anyone looking for a new roof that ask and I don't recommend many of the people that I have worked with or others that I have seen their work. I called a few companies, and Adam's Roofing was the only one that actually took time to explain what might be going on instead of immediately trying to sell me a full roof replacement. They came out when they said they would, did a very thorough inspection, took photos, and walked me through everything step by step so I could actually understand the damage. What I appreciated most was the honesty -- they told me my roof still had life left in it and recommended repairs instead of pushing for a new roof. The crew was professional, cleaned up completely afterward, and the repair looks great. Since then we've had heavy rain and zero issues. Communication was solid the entire time, pricing felt fair, and the whole process was way less stressful than I expected. As soon as they realized I wouldn't sign an immediate contract, they stopped caring, did a careless rushed inspection, and didn't even check the inside of my property for leaks. They promised to email a written estimate and photos, but after a month and multiple email reminders, they ignored me. Avoid this company, they only care about contracts, not helping people. Total bait-and-switch scheme! This company advertises a 'Free Estimate' to get their foot in your door. But once they inspect the storm damage, they hold the estimate, photos, and videos hostage. They refuse to send the paperwork via email unless you meet them in person to sign a binding contract. A real free estimate doesn't require a signed contract. They are dishonest, shady, and unprofessional. Avoid them!
