I came to Andrea for balayage. She kept asking how many "fingers" I wanted the color away from my roots. I wanted it to blend into my natural color and be staggered. I told her this during the appointment, but she didn't understand and insisted that her method is the right way. As a result, it didn't even look like balayage. It looked like I had my hair highlighted all the way to the root and it grew out an inch. I told her after she was done that I wanted it to look more blended. She offered to do low lights at the root which didn't resolve the issue. My next hairdresser (a couple months later) said it didn't even look like balayage. He said it looked like she highlighted it all the way to my root and I let it grow out. This picture is what he took before blending and staggering the color like I wanted in the first place. She might respond to this review and say that I should have told her that I was dissatisfied, but I did tell her that during the appointment, and her "solution" did not fix the problem at all. read more

Moved to the Texas area as of recent. Had to pick a salon off of Google which is terrifying. I am so happy I found the lovely miss Andrea at A&M Couture Salon. I had a job interview I needed to look my best for, also have a photo shoot in the works. It is usually terrifying going to a new hairdresser. Especially when you have short notice to correct anything. All I can say is I was extremely pleased. Andrea took the time out to truly listen to my concerns. She listened to what I wanted but also was great to give feedback on what would work. I am so happy I got her on the first try. She is laid back, fun, good attitude and truly knows hair. Beware. She wants you to pay her the amount of the Groupon, BUT, then starts up-charging for "toner" for color? You cannot perform color without the toner so that is deceptive. She asked me to pick a color and I did--she chose the color she wanted instead. She asked if I wanted my cut higher in the back and longer in the front? I said "NO, I have had it that way before and it is too hard to grow out" She did it anyway. I DO NOT recommend and what I received was less than the Groupon amount. read more

I wanted to try something new with my hair, and needed to find a new hairdresser, which can usually make you nervous! But I found Andrea and I'm so glad that I did! This chick is beyond rude! I made appt for braz blowout. I arrive on time and see that she slid someone in ahead of me and makes me wait. Then asks if I've been there before which I didn't recall until I walked into her room and remembered how rude she was from over a year ago. Since I was only in town for a few days I didn't have time to find someone else. She asked if I had a Groupon and I said yes and she proceeds to scold me in front of her other customer for not knowing her Groupon was a one time thing and tells me that next time I'll be charged the difference. Don't worry lady there won't be a next time! Then gives the I'm going to charge you extra if I have to use more than 1.5 oz. I already knew that was coming. During the rest of my appt she proceeds to sit on her phone and take care of her personal business. Apparently, my time is irrelevant to her. I then told her I had a Groupon for spray tan and get scolded again. I go in the tent and after spray tan she holds a blower on me and blows dirty hair from her last appts on me. Gross! If you like being treated like crap this is your place. read more

My highlights are a disaster. I have platinum blonde hair with completely natural grow out that is darker brown. My highlights she gave were meant to match to my existing hair color ends (platinum). She was able to lift the root to match, but roughly one inch below the root match of platinum, it turns a horrible yellow color, then goes into my platinum color ends. So, one inch platinum at root, one-two inches of icky brassy yellow color, then it goes back to my original platinum blond ends. Ick. Looks unprofessional. My appointment was frustrating because I found her abrupt and curt, lecturing me on how to wash my hair, though I'm already doing it the way she assumed I wasn't. When I called to get a correction, it was nothing but argumentation over how it must have been colored treated hair. NO, it was not color treated, it was all natural. When I told her I had a lady use two different bleaches on me to get a consistent color, one milder bleach at the root and one stronger bleach about one inch down because we all know the root will lighten up faster than the rest. She had the nerve to say that person must be slow. Every opinion she was throwing out was just wrong, off putting or insulting to myself and others. I'll pay more and go back to Kassidy Lockyer, because that girl has some wicked awesome techniques for color that come out beautifully! This is my lesson for trying to go the groupon cheap route. read more

I had a very pleasant experience with Andrea. She is hilarious and I was able to achieve the color I had wanted and asked for. She is very knowledgeable. She let me know of charges up front and warned me that toning my hair would cost an additional $30. I had to make my appointment a little last minute and she was very flexible with me. I was a little unsure about cutting my hair but she suggested I should and it would help me achieve the desired look I was going for and thank goodness I listened to her. I went to see Andrea a few weeks ago to get a balayage and a haircut. Going in, my hair was in great condition - shiny and soft. I'd asked for a caramel color. What I got was a head full of orange streaks. I went a few days later to have her dye it back to dark to fix since it looked hideous and everyone I know agreed. Since getting it done, my hair has become unbelievably dry and damaged. She over-processed my hair so much, it looks and feels like straw now. Not only that, but the long layers I'd asked for in my haircut are just uneven and choppy. SO angry and frustrated. Especially because of the MONEY I'm having to spend in addition to the money I paid her trying to get my hair fixed. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE my balayage color and cut - and the overall experience at A&M studio. Andrea was super easy going, warm, knowledgeable, honest/direct with expectations, and had me in and out within 2 hours. The price point is more than affordable and once you see the results, more than worth it. I don't trust anyone with my hair and haven't been to an actual stylist or stepped into a salon in YEARS. I'm extremely particular when it comes to my hair because it's super curly and takes quite a bit of extra care to manage. Andrea explained everything thoroughly as she went through the Brazilian Blowout and answered all of my questions whenever I had any. I can't see myself going to anyone else from here on out. Seriously. Not only was she professional, she's also extremely down to earth and enjoyable to talk to, so that's definitely an extra plus when you're having to be there for that amount of time :-) Ya girl walked in the salon with crispy, crunchy strands. By the time she was done you couldn't tell my natural hair apart from a freshly bought bundle of weave lol. 11/10 I would recommend her services to anyone and everyone. read more

Poor experience! Andrea was rude and kept on pulling my hair despite of telling her twice! I went through her Groupon ad and she charged $50 extra on top of $120. If you have hair with texture please do not visit her. She is going to try to sell other useless services/products to you and will do a poor job if you don't buy more. So happy I'm not the only one to think this lady was soooo rude. It was the weirdest experience I've ever had with a professional. One she was 15 minutes late and I nicely sat in the lobby knowing you can't really time these things and her last appt went over. I sat in the chair she's like "ok so what kind of hair cut" I was like I'm not here for a hair cut? She was almost offended so I was like ok whatever if I do my hair here, sure I'll cut it too. Then I went on to telling her what I wanted, I told her that I genetically gray A LOT and I'm only 24 I've just got a tonnnn of gray and that's why I'm here I need to cover it and I think with light hair it'll blend in more, she cut me off to say "well that's inevitable and it's $75 every time you need to touch up" I was like???? I had to stop her and say, that's not even what I'm talking about. I wasn't talking about touch ups I was just telling her my issue with my hair. Moving forward she was like "your hair will only lighten to a caramel" so I asked her what caramel was to her and I pointed to a caramel color bottle and she was like "no more like this" (showed me brown hair) I was like that's brown? She was like yes, chocolate brown. I was like chocolate brown and caramel are not the same color!?!?!? Right ‍ she was like yes they are. Lol she literally said "when you cut open a snicker what's inside is caramel" and I was like ".....yes.. and what's on the outside, IS CHOCOLATE" not the same. I actually just got up from the chair and said "I'm sorry you're actually so rude, I wouldn't do my hair here anyway" and walked out. It was ridiculous. Never again. She was so incredibly rude and seemed she didn't want to do my hair. Sucks because I would have paid a good $600 for it so if anyone knows someone lol let me know!
