I used to fly back home to California twice a month to get my hair cuts, thank goodness I found someone local. I've had bleached/ different color hair for years but after a few bad haircut experiences (before Roya) I shaved my head bald and stopped dying it. I just lost trust with the stylists out here. I had my first appointment with Roya. I triple bleached my hair and it pretty much fried off, so my hair was really choppy and thin at this point. I was sick of not being happy with my blonde so I decided to go darker. Roya had her own ideas of what color and cut she was going to do versus what I asked for! I asked for a Kourtney Kardashian BOB!!!!! She shaved and chopped off the back, so there is no hair back there (no picture) and I sure the heck didn't want it this short. When she started twisting my hair and using the thinning shears at a very high rate of speed (ughhhhh) I asked her to stop but she reassured me that I will be happy with it. Why would I since I came in there already with thinning hair????? I HATE HATE HATE MY HAIR!!!! I cannot style it at all, I cannot do anything with it. The color was way too dark, she said it would fade but it has not. She has a mind of her own on cut and color and what you ask for might not be what you will get! Beware. Roya is amazing! After moving to Plano I needed to find a stylist to revive what we'll call "quarantine cave-hair" that was running wild on my head. First awesome point for Roya: you can schedule appointments online. So easy and stress free. Having never met Roya when I scheduled (but saw her awesome reviews and diverse photos!) I wrote a hodgepodge of information in the comments box when scheduling. She followed up with me on a phone call so we could discuss my thoughts and I sent her a photo of my hair via text so she could be prepared. I felt really assured and excited! Second point of awesome: the afternoon before my appointment I had a crazy schedule change that was going to be difficult to get out of. I contacted Roya and explained my situation, and she went out of her way to work with me and another customer to move times around to work for me. I was so thankful to Roya (and the fact that she clearly has great relationships with her clients) to be able to do this when she definitely didn't need to because it was 100% my issue! Third point of awesome: Roya's place is bright, clean, and comfortable. You feel great just being in the room. Fourth point of awesome: Roya. I'm not talking about her talent (that's the next point of awesome), I'm talking about her. She is so friendly and funny. At the beginning, Roya and I both have an understanding that I wanted a balayage. I told Roya that I'm pregnant and wanted a darker color than what I had (blond) and asked if she doesn't touch my roots. After applying color and when she was about to cut my hair, I didn't see what I wanted. My hair is blackish brown. I didn't see any balayage in it. I asked her if she was finished and she said yes, saying that if I washed out my hair a couple of times, it would become lighter. At this point, I got frustrated. I told her I was being charged as a balayage but this doesn't come near close as a balayage. Then after a bit, it felt as if she was trying to argue with me, saying that I told her I want darker and not near my roots. Okay? Yes. The picture I sent her is darker and she didn't have to get close to my roots for a balayage... as I've gotten it before. So she said she will apply highlights to my hair. I told her that I wanted what I asked for and she said she can't, telling me not to worry and what I got is a caramel color. At this point, I gave up because I was tired and knew she has a flight out to Miami next day. I wish I can give Roya my loyalty because she seems like a very nice lady but when it came to my hair, it was frustrating. Originally she was going to charge me 320 but took 40 off which is 290.. and although she didn't take my tip... I wished it would have looked like what's in the picture. This was the best haircut I've ever received! I usually ask for my hair to be cut straight across because most people I go to mess it up. My hair is wavy, with a crazy pattern and very little direction most of the time. Because of this, it was very shapeless, thick, and easily tangled. It was also very hard to manage. I was tired of it suddenly, and Roya was able to get me in the chair just a few hours later. I'm so lucky I stumbled across her salon on Yelp. She was very kind! Every time I go to a salon, the hairdresser judges my mistakes as I sometimes trim my hair myself, bleach, and dye. She told me it was no problem and made me feel so comfortable while in her care. Now, for the actual cut! I asked for Roya's recommendation. I knew I wanted it to be only a bit shorter, but I wanted more shape in my hair and some layers. She knew exactly what to do and worked quickly as well. My hair looks completely renewed and feels like it too! Doing my hair is so much easier now, and it cooperates with me a lot more! I love my new look, and I will 100% trust her with my hair next time! I cannot see myself going to another stylist for a long, long time. read more

I was late one day one time and she dropped me as a client even though I am handicapped and I was having a bad day physically today! I've been bouncing around from stylist to stylist - looking for a "fit" after my old stylist shuttered his doors for good. After 14 months in captivity, I was desperate to tame the mane. So, like any good millennial, I researched my options on Yelp and came across Roya. Booking was online and super easy. Her salon space inside a Suite Salon was really soothing, done in shades of gray and white. Roya, herself, was welcoming and friendly. We chatted for quite a while about what to do with my mop and unlike many hairdressers, she offered her opinion on what would and wouldn't work. As for the cut, I couldn't be more pleased. I was afraid I was going to come out looking like a bowling ball with a few sprigs on top, but Roya salvaged my hair and dignity! A cute cut and explanation of what she sees in my future, and we were done. All in all, it took about an hour and a half. time well spent to be able to go out in public without cringing. I have a pixie cut with thick and very wavy hair - it grows very fast, and shrinks up quite a bit when it dries. I've been struggling to find someone who will cut it short enough in the back to avoid a mullet, while also leaving it long on the top, so that my curls don't shrink too short after I leave. Roya nailed it - she cut my hair dry first to make sure that the top wouldn't shrink, then thinned out the bulky areas and tapered the back in a way that looks and feels much more feminine.
