I have to say this was the best experience I've had with a company in years. They just removed a huge palm tree from my front yard that was starting to be a problem. The price they gave us was more than fair and reasonable. They removed it fast and did such a good job I was actually amazed. They went above and beyond what was asked and required. When all was done and time to pay came I realized I didn't have the check book at the house, They were very understanding and offered to send someone to our house the next day to pick it up so we wouldn't have to put the balance on a credit card, which would have been an extra 100$ charge. Considering all of the different tree companies that service our area, A&M came in with the best price and skillful tree cutters as well as great clean up crew. I've used them three times in three years and recently they took down a Norfolk pine for us that was almost six stories tall. I highly recommend them as they service a very large area. I had to call them to find out they had a "big" job somewhere else and then they asked to reschedule from a Friday to a Tuesday, and then the second time they called an hour and a half late to ask if they could move the appointment to the next day! A&M Tree Service (Specialists-High Risk Trimming) of Anaheim is the best tree trimming and removal company on the map in Orange County in my opinion. This morning I decided to end the backyard bougainvillea nightmare and asked our gardener to chop all 4 of them down to nubs. He did however could not haul them off. I had no idea what to do and then I heard what sounded like a wood chipper. Across the street A&M was taking care of a neighbors tree. I ran over and asked for a biz card and Arturo the supervisor/owner was on the scene in the company promotional vehicle. He was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. He took a look at the situation, gave me an incredible quote, completed the contract via email right there on our driveway and the guys were over in a jiffy. They did an excellent job, worked very hard, cleaned up, were very kind and professional and our backyard looks fantastic. Art came on time to give me his quote to remove at least 40 ft. pine and a dead 15 ft dead tree with roots removal. I had other quotes but his was the most competitive one so I called him to come back. He said his crew was in the area and would come back between 12-1pm. A & M Tree service was contracted to do a large project at my neighbors house. The day they began the owner of the business came to my house and asked if he could drive his trucks onto my property, down my hill to remove the neighbors brush. I said no problem. A week and a half later I asked his crew Forman what it would cost me to remove some honeysuckle root balls from my back yard. He quoted me $700. The price seemed absurdly high so I asked him how many people would work on it and how long it would take. He stated two people working for half a day could remove the root balls. I explained to him that even if he payed his employees $100 dollars each for half a day that was $500 dollars of overhead. I explained to him that his company had been on my property for a week and a half and would not have been able to complete the job without doing so and was looking to pay the labor cost for the root ball removal as reciprocation. He then said he could do the work for $500 which was still absurdly high for one day of work. I told him that wouldn't work so he told me he was going to contact his father in law while his crew kept working on my property. He avoided getting back to me until I came and talked to him to ask what his response was. He told me $500 was the best he could do so I told him his crew was no longer welcome on my property. He said he would get them of. I walked down 20 minutes later and they were still working, nothing had changed. At this point my patience was done and I approached him and his crew to remove their equipment immediately, not after they were done and got around to it. Initially he pretended like he didn't hear me and turned the machine on louder. I called the company to speak to the owner after his foreman's lack of professionalism and have not heard back. Mark is the true tree expert and Alex appears to be the face of the company. Together, they are an unbeatable combination. They saved a plum tree in my front yard that had developed a serious lean. The trimmed it back significantly to lighten the load, then anchored it to the ground. We recently used A&M to uproot a tree stump in our front yard that was about 7' tall, about 10' diameter with 2 feet of concrete encircling it. It was an old tree and the roots were ruining our pipes and our neighbor's driveway. We really took the time shop around and interviewed about 7 different contractors before going with Art and his team at A&M. When we met he was very professional and his pricing was competitive. He was able to thoroughly explain what we would expect and how everything would work. He was patient with our questions and and it was obvious he was an expert in his field. Once his team arrived their work was a complete reflection of what was promised to us. I was more than satisfied with their quality of their service. I saw A & M Tree Specialist crews were doing work in my neighborhood. I got an estimate for removing giant (45-50') palm tree and trimming of some other trees. Their price was competitive. So happened they finished the other job, they came over and did ours the same day. The manager/supervisor(?) Art and the whole crew were very courteous and professional. They know what they are doing. Trees that were trimmed were nicely shaped and laced. The giant palm was removed safely. They cleaned up very well and very efficiently. Art came and gave us a bid. Work done but many of my plants got trampled during the process. Art said he would come inspect the job once his 2 man crew was done but he never returned. I called multiple times and have left him messages but no reply. This will cost me lots of time and money to replant these now killed plants in both my front and back yard. Great experience with this company. I called them on Sunday during the recent wind storm because we were in danger of losing several of the trees in our back yard. I was desperate as I hated to see them lost. Normally we trim our trees each November but had failed to do so this year. Because the trees were full and weighty the winds were really hard on them. Art called me back immediately and sent his guys out to do the trees on Tuesday. This was the quickest service I could find - a lot of places were booked a month out at least. I got the impression that A&M is just properly staffed to handle more volume than most. The crew that showed up was excellent. The main guy really listed to what I wanted. He was very personable and promised he'd do what I asked for and that I would be happy. And I was! Great company, great leadership, great responsiveness, and great price. Nice work Art and crew! We already had a very good estimate from A&M to do some major trimming on several huge trees in our yard and clearing the hill side. However before we could decide, the biggest tree in our yard crashed down during the high winds. Arturo from A&M came out the same day and gave us a great updated quote to do all the original work plus the removal of this massive tree, plus some more stuff we wanted done. And to top it off, he promised to start work the very next day. Sure enough the crew came and worked all weekend to make everything perfect, even though they were busy with other clients with falling trees in the area. We used A & M Tree Service to remove a 15 foot Bradford Pear that died after a Shot Hole Borer got into the tree. They removed the tree and the stump and left the yard in perfect condition as if the tree had never been there. They also trimmed our other Bradford Bear and it looks great. These people get 2 stars instead of just 1 because the actual trim job on our pepper tree was quite good. Just about everything else was terrible! My advice: if you decide to use this company work with Art, not Martin. Martin is the most disorganized person we've ever seen! The company was doing work on two other properties on our street, so you would think they could get it right: screwing up with us will probably not get them invited back to the other properties in the future. Complaints: where do I begin? Let's start with the fact that the communication between Martin and Ramon (head of the field crew) was terrible. We had told them that they would need to do the job when one of us was present. Due to terrible communications between Martin and Ramon, they did not do this. They were supposed to wait for one of us to arrive. Instead they climbed over the 6' fence (trespassing!!!) and proceeded without either of us present. Next, the tree in question was in a large fenced area containing 2 horses. None of the crew have any experience with horses (easily frightened animals), so they just started trimming with the horses right there. Fortunately - and no thanks to the A & M guys - these horses are very calm ones. They did not freak out! However, our dog did! He got so stressed that he managed to climb over said 6' fence and escape from the yard. We found him later - thank heavens! - at a neighbor's house a few streets away. This entire "animal ignorance" act had the potential to result in great harm or death to the dog and/or the horses. This is not a responsible company! Finally, when I arrived and opened a gate so they could remove the cut branches to the chipper/shredder, they backed that huge heavy truck onto the property (guess they were too lazy to walk a few fee to the shredder....) and made huge compressed grooves in the driveway area (dirt/gravel drive). We had do some work ourselves to fix the driveway so that rain water will not flow down onto the property there from the street. In other words, their mistakes risked our animals and made extra work for us. So......when it came time to pay the bill, I told them there was no way I was paying full freight for such lousy service. I had half a mind not to pay them at all! They agreed (like they had any choice since there was no written estimate) and cut the price in half. No way I would use this company again because I cannot trust them to do as I ask! read more

HOMEOWNERS TAKE NOTICE! I am writing this review because this company allows their marketing representatives/agents to enter homeowners' PRIVATE BACKYARDS to distribute their marketing materials. My front door is readily accessible from the street, so there is absolutely NO REASON for the company (whom I did not hire) to walk through my property and enter my backyard for the purpose of distributing advertising materials/business cards. After realizing this happened, I called the company directly to request that they refrain from doing so. The employee, who took my call, started talking over me (after hearing I was complaining about their advertising materials), and told me they could leave their materials anywhere on my property if I do not have a non-solicitation sign posted. I have never heard of such a thing (nor had the police, whom I called to inquire/inform, once I could get no traction from speaking with the company). In fact, I have no idea why they assume it is reasonable to enter a homeowner's private backyard when the front door and porch are readily accessible for this purpose. And, while I am making no direct judgements about their ability to cut trees, I would be wary of hiring any company that takes such freedoms to walk through people's private property (without their express permission). What additional liberties might they conclude they have the right to take if given access to a homeowner's property to cut their trees? Moreover, when simply asking that they not enter my BACKYARD to leave their advertising, the company employee, who took the call, summarily cut me off, disregarded my complaint, and hung up the phone. When I called back to request to speak to a manager, she said, "You called already, please do not call back, because I have work to do," and hung up again. The company's claim of providing excellent customer service is worthless if this is the way their employees handle complaints they deem unjustified. read more
