I can't believe this place still exists! My family stopped here for lunch. The staff was very friendly and professional. I learned that they make root beer in house with real sugar cane! The root beer freeze was delicious even though I am not a fan of root beer! It took a while to get our food, but that is Ok because it tasted fresh. I highly recommend that you try this place if you're in Nisswa.

Rooty (the A&W Bear mascot) would straight up maul the overrated Ronald McDonald. This classic walk-up drive lacks the doorside service but still quickly brings you back diner menu/window will bring you to the golden age when eating fast food didn't make you feel like you were commuting a mortal sin. The burgers, sandwiches, and dogs are are edible but not memorable. And although the RootBeer is good, it is the second best RootBeer in Nisswa (#1 goes to the 1919 RootBeer on tap @ Rafferty's.)

Very good hamburgers, cut so we could share

Hamburgers are very good - NOT fast food quality. Fries were good, root beer so much better than canned or bottled.

As soon as my wife and I drove by A&W we knew that a visit would be in our cards for the weekend. I ordered a bacon burger with cheese curds while my wife got chicken tenders, onion rings and a float. The staff were incredibly nice and rather prompt. The price was a little high and significantly so as compared to McDs, but I would chalk that up to the products being fresher. My wife was disappointed that there were no curly fries or chicken wings on the menu like in Singapore where she grew up and frequented A&W. The bathroom line was very long. It made me wonder whether they only had one bathroom or one of them were out of service. Good thing I did not have to go. The food was pretty good. I would go back for sure if I were in Nisswa again.

Our large group was able to find a spot EASILY on a friday night. It turns into a PARTY after 10, many of them being bachelorettes. I loved the vibe in here & always with the amazing staff! We had a bigger group and got a mix of pizza, chips and salsa/guacamole, tacos, burritos, and chicken bowls. Overall the food tasted good, well spiced and balanced. The bartenders were helpful and mostly friendly. We have been coming to this location for years and feel like it is becoming rundown. A few things we noticed: -limes and lemons at the outdoor bar were brown and either had been out for days or the heat was making them go bad -the bathrooms smell like puke/other potty smells and the floor is consistently sticky everywhere -we all had belly aches after we ate, with some people having more issues than others -we sat at the composite picnic tables and they almost burned our skin Overall this is a fun place to stop for drinks and entertainment, but be warned about food quality and potential other sanitary concerns. This place could overall use a good thorough clean and benefit from more umbrellas to shade the composite tables to avoid burning skin.

The food was cooked perfectly. The service was 10/10 where our server checked on us periodically. Located at the Cragun's Resort, we thought the food and pricing would be mediocre, overpriced tourist restaurant, but no! The food was delicious that we let each other try our dish. I had the medium-rare sirloin. It sirloin was tender. The fingerling mashed potatoes was flavorful and the vegetables were steamed well with a hint of buttery taste. The walleye was coated well. The fish was also tender and flaky. The vegetables were also steamed well. The wild rice was OK to me, but my husband thought it was amazing. My Nana had the chef's special: taste of Tbilisi. I really like the chicken skewers. She loves the eggplant and bell pepper ragout. My Poppop also had sirloin, but we also shared the focaccia bread. I really like the buttered dried tomato mix. It was different than your usual bread and butter. After dinner, we learned there was a dessert menu when the manager checked in on us. She said, "make sure you save room for dessert." There was not a physical dessert menu, but our server had the list on her checkbook. My husband and I shared the peaches creme brûlée. Again, everything was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate. There was outdoor seating available, but due to the scattered rain, we opt to stay indoors. There was a mix of customers sitting in and outdoors. It is above the outdoor swimming pool, but we were able to eat in peace. Very well decorated too. We did recommend this place to another family for their date night. It is that good! Also by the looks of the reviews and food pictures, it looks like the menu change - be sure to check out their website for the latest menu.
