Thought I'd give this A&W location a try and boy was I in for a disappointing treat. First stepping into the restaurant the first thing I noticed were all the flies flying around the restaurant. And I mean, a lot! They were everywhere! The floors were also very sticky and overall just felt very dirty inside. The cashier was good but they are definitely understaffed which lead to long wait times for our food. Once our food was ready, we decided to sit outside rather than inside since there were so many flies flying around that just kept landing on everything. The food itself is good and what I remember A&W to be. Teen burger and pickle burger with onion rings and poutine. The onion rings are great and super crispy, just the way I liked it. Teen burger was good and a fresh tasting burger. I'd say overall I think they need to be a lot cleaner for their restaurant and do something about their fly infestation. Probably need to hire more people so that wait times aren't so long as well. read more

Ok. Not a high end breakfast but a great value. This place is one of our favourites. The staff is exceptional. Cashiers are friendly and welcoming even when they are busy. The cook is very good. My hubby likes his eggs over very easy and this is one of the few places that you can get it done right. They have two plated breakfast which are both great value and we quite often have those. Today was busy and the place was fairly full. We ordered within 3-4 minutes and our meal was ready in 5 minutes. Cost less than half of the cost of usual breakfast places. The place has a lot of glass windows so it is always bright and the staff are always cleaning. Seats are not too close together. Clean, efficient, friendly and great value. read more

I have been to this A&W on several occasions, as I am often in this area to visit Winner, Staples, and Walmart. I typically go through the drive-thru. The food is decent for fast food and I am rarely waiting for more than five minutes for my order. Today, I decided to dine in. I ordered a mozza burger with fries and a diet root beer. The drink comes in a frosted glass, which is perfect on a 22°C day. Everything was delicious, probably because I was hungry and had lunch just before 4 pm. There is free wifi I the restaurant, which helps me write a long overdue review! The place is clean. In fact, one woman is sweeping and I write. The other one is wiping the the tabletops down. I was the only customer here. Oddly, another visit met decided to sit at the table next to me, with her bag on the chair like I have, and facing the same way. Copycat? Perhaps. =) (66) read more

I was a huge fan of this location when they first opened. I can't say the same anymore. I don't know what it is about this location, they all hate their jobs? they don't know how to make the food? always annoyed and serve with attitude. I've had a couple of recent incidents that validate my reasons for avoiding this location anytime anyone in my family has a craving for A&W. I'd rather go out of my way & drive to Kennedy and Hwy 7 than go to this location anymore. Where do i begin? 1. Flat root beer. Seriously?!? You are known for your root beer! Why is it always flat?!? 2. Toppings always missing on burgers. Be careful if you want 1 topping removed, they will give you a plain burger with zero toppings. 3. Earlier this year i ordered a burger that came with grilled onions. One of the toppings i didn't want was mustard on my burger. I ended up with a burger that had extra mustard and no onions. When i asked for the onions, they said they ran out. That was not even communicated to me when i ordered (we were dining in). The young girl at the counter was giving me attitude about and finally said they could make more. When it was ready, they gave me raw onions that were dipped in oil!? More attitude when i mentioned that i would prefer a different item. It wasn't until i asked for the manager (she said she was the manager HAHA - NOPE!) and then the name of the area supervisor finally that her tone changed with me. By this point, nobody in my family even wanted to eat there. Also, 4 months ago my husband stopped in to order take-out, 1 hour before closing. They refused to make him the burger he asked for giving the excuse that "the grill we make that on has been shut off for the night". They gave him a double burger (burnt) with the same toppings and a ridiculous amount of mayo, mustard etc. that goes on it. It was disgusting! I contacted head office and was put in touch with the franchisee (btw - the restaurant insisted they were corporate owned - not the case at all!) and he was kind enough to send me a letter of apology that gave us the same combo free on our next visit. He also insisted that the grills should not be turned off unless it was at closing time. Fast forward to this week, we decided to have A&W and i found the letter and had my hubby redeem it. What he brought home was a burnt Cheddar Uncle Burger that had too much onion on it, hardly any bacon or cheese, what looked like a wedge of lettuce. Honestly, i should've taken a picture of it before i launched it into the garbage after the first bite. Nobody should be sending out burnt burgers from the kitchen. Hands down one of the best fast food I have ever had periodt! Our food order wasn't rushed, the cashier was nice and sweet because we couldn't decide what we wanted and we were trying to figure out how to pay because they didn't accept my USA debit card or my American Express card. It was free rootbeer day, but I opted out because I am not a rootbeer person. I ordered the spicey chicken sandwitch meal. And my friend got a bacon cheese burger. Our order took a few minutes to come out but it came out looking so beautiful. It wasn't messy, the burgers were well put together, the lettuce weren't withered down and it was actually fresh and crunchy. The chicken tasted really good, it had a spicey kick to it and the fries, oh man, those were some good fresh fries. I'll eat this over McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King any day and I'm not much of a fast food foodie either. read more

We found the building quite interesting looking. It looked like a drive in diner. I half hoped someone would roller skated to our car. Just kidding. We only stopped by for ice cream in soda on a Saturday. No, it was not on the menu. Almost like a secret menu at Starbucks. The code words were "Root Beer Float". There you go - vanilla ice cream on root beer in a cold mug ($3.70 tax included). The cashier was friendly and fast. We didn't experience service issues. When done, be a boy scout and put the mug on the tray that is on top of the busing station. read more

Todays visit was a bit dissapointing. Came here around lunchtime on a Saturday. They should be expecting a lunch crowd.... Tables were dirty, washrooms were smelly, napkins were not re-filled. This is the reason for 2 stars. Food was ok, i really can not tell the difference between the burgers... teen and mama looks the same. Seriously, you expect mama or papa to be bigger than a teen, but apparently its not. If you look at the pic i posted with 4 burgers... you tell me whats what! Each was single patty... Rootbear is good here because they serve it in a cold glass! At the malls, they serve in a takeout cup, it taste a bit different. Lots of parking, with a drive thru. Been to this location multiple times. They always give me attitude when ordering a burger for breakfest. If there were other options in town I would never return here. If you are not happy about serving lunch items during breakfest then do not offer it on your menu. read more

BEST A&W location yet. We come here at least once every two weeks. Ever since A&W took beyond meat under its wing and started to create a more diner-like experience, we have become more frequent visitors. The best thing about getting the breakfast specials here is that not only do they allow you to use their coupon (which is a given) but also serve you quickly and has good customer service. Food is also always on point. It feels weird to say that for a fast food restaurant but they really do use real eggs and over-easy is always perfectly cooked!! They have their own parking and building which we also very much enjoy. It really is a diner experience packaged in a franchise fast food restaurant. Overall, we love this place and can't wait to return! read more

Wow, I'm impressed. Usually when we go to A&W in a food court, the burgers are always too soggy and greasy, but not this location! The burgers were fresh, hot and while I don't like onions or pickles, the teen burger combo I got was perfect. I got onion rings which was crunchy and not greasy. The only thing is that some of the tables weren't cleaned, other than that I will def be back. read more

A&W had the worst food amongst all the major chains until a couple of years ago...Things have gotten better, but their service hasn't improved...!!! Stopped for lunch and ended up with a nasty viral...!!! Yep, it's true...There was only 1 sever across the counter and she managed to get me to hate A&W with gusto...!!! We got 2 of the Mama combos...I asked for Ice Tea WITHOUT Ice, and got my mug with a handful of Ice Cubes...Went back and the server threw out the ice and refilled the jug with 4-6 Ice Cubes...!!! By now there was half a mile long lineup at the counter and still only 1 register open, so I plucked out the Ice Cubes myself... Food was fine, but the fries were filled only to half of their intended capacities... We were in a rush and I gulped down the drink on the way out, and I ended up swallowing ONE Ice Cube, only ONE...!!! It's been 5 days, and I've yet to cleanse myself of the nasty viral...!!! But for someone like me with a bad set of Tonsils, the damage was done...!!! It was a bad mistake setting foot inside an A&W, and it won't happen again in this lifetime...!!! read more

I read other Yelpers terrible experiences at this location. I personally have not had a bad experience here, fast food standard. We always get an abundant amount of their coupons in the mail. So on nights where I am too lazy to cook, we just drive over and grab two combos; one for me and one for my hubby. We have been here a number of times, and service was good (fast food standard of course). We got our food in a timely manner. I love how they serve their root beer in a frosted glass. read more

One of the worst A&W that I have been to. the food wasn't too bad almost typical but the service was bad. Had to wait a long time before they even took my order when there was no one in front of me. Ordered sweet potato fries and apparently the people before me also ordered it so they did make a fresh batch but by the time it reached to me, it was at the end of that batch. The workers basically rule this place instead of A&W. if they don't want to serve you half an hour before they close, they just say we are closed. They can add any extra charge on free sauces. I like A&W burgers and root beer very much. It's a shame this location is so out of control. read more

This is the second horrible experience I have had at this location. I reported the first one at the beginning of December 2014, received an email from the manager asking for a tel number to call me on. He never called, even though I sent him a reminder. I had not been back to the store since then, but today I thought I would see if things had changed. It took 10 minutes to get my order (burger only), I had to ask for a tray even though I had said it was to dine in, and was handed the tray with the burger only, no root beer that I had ordered. When I asked for the root beer in a glass, I was told "we're too busy right now". I made a comment about that, to which the cashier said "I hate rude people". As you can imagine, I will never go to another A&W again, as it is obvious that A&W Corporate has no control over its franchisees. read more
