I placed this order through the Mr Sub app on my phone and then headed over to this eatery to pick it up. My order consisted of these items: - Small assorted sub on mozza-cheddar bread - Two cookies. I didn't have any option to select cookie flavours. I assumed that it would be chocolate chip cookies. I was close. I found out that they were chocolate chunk cookies. I paid through the app. I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I ended up being late due to traffic. Driving after work over here was a pain. Finch Avenue West heading eastbound, just before Keele Street, was down to a single lane. I needed to turn right and then left to get to this Mr Sub. There is clear signage to get here. One sign that said to enter the parking lot. The other was the exit. There was also a massive Mr Sub sign that you could clearly spot from far away. I was the only person in this lot. Parking is diagonal. I parked and then headed inside. The shape of this store is cool. It used to be Bobby Orr's Pizza Parlour back in the 1970's. It was a hockey-themed restaurant that I would have loved to have checked out if it were still open for business. I walked in. It does have an older feel to the place. There was plenty of seating on either side of the order area. A woman came out to greet me. I indicated that I had a takeout order. She nodded and let me know that there was a rack to my right with my order. Cool! I thanked her. She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and headed over to said rack with my order. It's next to the washroom area that was closed. I grabbed my paper bag and headed to my car. It then drove back to Markham. I got hungry and ended up eating my food in my car before running some more errands. I enjoyed my assorted sub. The deli meats, sub sauce, and white cheese hit the spot. The downside was my mozza-cheddar bread. It was on the stale side. Other than that, it was good. Thank goodness for the sub sauce that provided some moisture! I loved my chocolate chunk cookies. I don't normally get cookies from Mr Sub. Solid. Yummy. I should order them more often. It was great stopping by. Hopefully, the bread will be fresher next time and the washrooms will be operational. This Burger King on Nugget Avenue is a part of a combo store with Tim Hortons. This Burger King used to be a Wendy's. You often see Wendy's and Timmy's together under one roof in the greater Toronto area. Burger King is different! When I worked in Scarborough, my colleagues and I would come to Wendy's for lunch. I wasn't interested in Timmy's, which has endured. Sadly, the Wendy's didn't make it. I frankly don't know when the change happened. I decided to grab some dinner at Burger King after work on Friday. I ordered online and earned Royal Perks points thanks to these items: - Whopper - Onion rings - Medium Diet Coke I got this combo for $10.99 through an online deal. The onion rings were extra. I'm sad that Half-sies (half fries and half onion rings) are no longer available ever since Burger King made improvements to how some food items taste. It was the best of both worlds without breaking the bank. I paid online. I then took my time driving over to this eatery. I took Markham Road southbound and made a right turn into the parking lots. Some things don't change. There was a semi-trailer truck parked off to the side before the entrance to this parking lot. It felt so familiar from eons ago. The signage was straightforward heading to the drive-thru. At the speaker, I let the man on the other end know that I had an order under my name. He immediately said to come on over to the pickup window. Service was super prompt and friendly. I got my food and drink. I thanked this man and wished him a great day. He reciprocated. What I don't like about this drive-thru is leaving it. I was immediately going into the traffic flow of the Timmy's drive-thru. It was a bit crazy. Luckily, a man how was heading over there stopped and let me leave. I ended up parking in the lot by backing into a spot. I needed to place an order at Timmy's. I also needed to put my food in my insulated bag. The paper bag had my first name on it. It was cute and practical. After I was done visiting both parts of this combo store, I headed home. I then had dinner. I love the improved Whopper. It's so good. You still get the flame-broiled beef patty. The tomatoes, pickles, and tomatoes taste fresh. The bun is excellent. Yum! The onion rings are different. They are larger and crispier. I'm so glad that I finally tried these improved rings. My Diet Coke was cold and hit the spot. It washed all my food down. There is a middle high table with stolls and electrical plus and USB-A plugs. There are regular tables also. There is a drive-through. There are special parking spots for low emission vehicles near the entrance. This is the first time I've seen such a sign. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. As a kid, when my parents and I would visit Pickering Flea Market (may it rest in peace), we'd pass by this McDonald's to get there. A couple of weekends ago, I was shopping in Pickering. Shopping up a storm required getting a drink afterwards. I had never been to this McDonald's. I decided to get a drink here on my way home. This eatery is on the south side of Kingston Road, just east of Sheppard Avenue East. I had no problem pulling into the parking lot and locating the drive-thru. Before visiting this restaurant, I had loaded the $1 fountain drink deal to my QR code on my McDonald's app. I wasn't able to pay on the app (it's a long story, but I'm able to now), so I loaded this deal and then had to pay for my drink at the window. Not horrible. Just an extra step and interaction with a human. This McDonald's has two drive-thru lanes that ultimately converge by the time you get to the first window. I liked the longer approach to get to the order area, as it accommodates more vehicles when things get busy. I got a friendly male voice at the drive-thru order area. I rattled off my code associated with my reward points. The man saw my fountain drink deal. I got a large Diet Coke. I proceeded to make my way to the pickup window. I paid with a credit card. Tapped. Paid. Done! I got my drink. I was so happy. I thanked the woman at this window and started making tracks home. The downside is doing a left turn to get home from this McDonald's. We can around 1:30pm, made our order for happy meal and an extra pack of the latest toy (Feb 2026, anime uno cards). The staff at the drive through order were happy to make sure we got one of each of their available toys. We were told to wait at parking spot #1, and when we were waiting, the car at spot #2 left. A staff, I assume the manager, made a mad dash up over a snow hill to catch the #2 spot customer before they left the lot at the traffic light. He came back with a pack of food in his hand, and then the customer #2 came back to the parking spot. The manager then brought out another bag for them. WOW - that is commitment to everyone enjoying the food they order, and getting what they order. After that, the same manager came out with more orders, including ours. He asked us to check that we had two toys inside, stood there waiting for us to confirm, and wished us a pleasant day as we drove off. I've honestly never had such impressive, dedicated service. After work last Wednesday, I paid this eatery a visit for an early dinner. I had no problem finding this eatery and a parking spot. I backed into a spot close to the main doors and headed inside. I had already placed my order through the app and got the following: - Whopper - Half-sies - Medium Diet Coke - Strawberry sundae It was Whopper Wednesday, which meant that my combo was $8.49 before taxes. Yay! I used the women's washroom. It was clean. I used it again before I headed home. I liked that the sink area had a large surface to put my drink down. I headed to the pickup counter. It was busy at around 3 pm. Customers were polite, but a bit awkward. A young woman said sorry when she needed ketchup and wanted to grab some. Probably saying excuse me would have been better. She didn't need to be sorry for anything. Then, there was an older gentleman who used excuse me correctly. I think he wanted to grab a drink from the fountain drink machine. Another man was standing nearby, but wasn't blocking access to the machine. It was different. I waited patiently for my order. The purple upholstery in my booth had seen better days. I loved the colour so much. I had my sundae first, which seems to be a habit that I have at BK. In the past, I'd have my meal and then the sundae. The problem was that the sundae melts. It's better to enjoy it first. It's my favourite sundae. I loved the strawberry chunks and the sauce on top of the soft serve. It was enjoyable mixing everything together. It was cold, but soft and yummy. My Whopper was delicious. I remembered to say no to the onions when I customized my burger online. It hit the spot. I got half-sies. I love getting some fries and some onion rings. It's the best combination. This Harvey's is next to Luber, which is, you guessed it, an oil and lube station for your vehicle. So aptly named! There was parking around the building. I appreciated that there were signs indicating that these parking spots were for Harvey's customers. I backed into a spot and headed inside. I saw a huge chicken figure as I walked in. I took a photo of Penny the chicken. It's not every day that you walk into any Harvey's to see a chicken staring at you. She was tied down for security. I frankly don't think folks can steal her. She looks heavy for anyone to carry her out (sorry, Penny!) and it does not look like an easy feat to get Penny out both sets of doors. I oddly got relish down, so I wasn't ignoring anything green. I simply don't visit Harvey's as often as I should. Anyway, the multigrain bun was perfect. The angus beef was juicy and yummy. I also earned crowns (rewards points) towards free food and more. I walked in. It was spacious. It felt inviting here. It was fairly busy when I got here at roughly 4 pm. I saw the order pickup sign on the left and headed over there. Ordering in advance felt like I was in a VIP line. A helpful female staffer found my order with my name, but it was in a paper bag. She quickly fixed the issue by taking everything out and putting them on a tray. She then let me know that she's make my sundae. She exhibited excellent customer service. I appreciated her clear communication. While I waited for my sundae, I hit the drink machine and got a Diet Coke. I ended up refilling my cup twice. It wasn't enough to wash down all my food. When I got to the window, I was handed a cold bag of food. I didn't even pull off before telling them the food was cold. The employee working the drive-thru window on Wednesday, January 20th at approximately 6:17 PM responded with an attitude and said, "Well, you placed it." I replied that yes, that's how ordering food works, and asked why the food was cold. They said it had already been made. I asked why food would be prepared so early especially when the order was placed only five minutes prior and they had no explanation. When I said I did not want cold food, I was told to request a refund through the Burger King app. I then asked for the order to be remade fresh. Instead, I was told I would need to drive back around, place a new order, and pay for it again, even though I was already at the window and the issue was entirely on their end. Between the cold food, refusal to correct the mistake, and dismissive attitude, this was an extremely poor experience. I will never return to this location again. Completely unacceptable customer service.
