If you're looking for a perfect cut and good conversation look no further I discovered this place a few months ago as I explored the neighborhood into which I had just moved. I had been going to a few different barber shops over the course of the past 20 some odd years. One thing I noticed is that its very difficult to find a barber that is both good with the clipper and good with a scissor. What I mean by that is at the "inner city" barbers usually have skills with the clippers but don't know what to do with the top of my head as I like to keep it somewhat long. On the flipside of that, in the salon type barber shops, you'll find barbers who are skilled with scissors, but cant handle the clippers well and cant cut a clean fade or taper. Brito at A barber shop has skills with both the clipper and scissors. His cuts are consistent and reasonable priced and he takes appointments, which works great for me as I keep a pretty busy work schedule. Just got back from this place and what can i say, even though the new owner Brito is a humble man and wants to shed his old nickname, he truly is "The Living Legend". When you walk in you get a very classic barbershop vibe, with modern enhancements. From the huge TV in the back to the open layout of the place, waiting for a haircut is a relaxing experience. As for the haircuts themselves, i have yet to have a haircut that is below spectacular. Once you sit down for a haircut you get a feeling that Brito is going to take good care of you, and it won't be a rushed cut. Very detail oriented, you can tell him what style you'd like it cut and it will be delivered. Amazing with fades and designs, Brito does stellar work with the straight razor, something that most barbers either don't take the time to do, or simply don't know how to do. I recently stopped in for a cut to see the barbershop under new ownership. Nothing against the old owners but I am very happy with the new talent there now. Brito the new owner made me feel at home like I had been in his chair for years. A funny nice guy with tons of experience and stories. The cut was nothing less than perfect. The amount of time he took and the attention to detail is something you dont get anywhere else. Class acts these guys are. Oh, not to mention they give the best haircuts around. Brito is spectacular. Shop is great comfortable atmosphere. Clean and just an overall fabulous experience everytime I go. For those concerned about time, I would recommend you go elsewhere because Brito and his staff pride themselves on quality and care. Overall this place is great, Brito is a super personable guy and he cuts hair like no other. He is thorough, he takes his time and does it right. He uses a variety of techniques and listens to what you ask for. I really enjoyed how he uses the straight razor to clean up areas most people use buzzers for. I would suggest him to anyone. Dudes. Seriously. This is your barbershop. Twenty bucks gets you a better, faster, cheaper cut than you could get elsewhere for twice the price. Straight razor clean up and everything. Chill barbers, pool table, good music; the place has a great vibe. Before I found this barbershop, I was dissatisfied with my previous barber. He never cut my hair exactly how I wanted. I was walking by one day and I noticed a new barbershop on the block. I decided to go in and I don't regret it. He was friendly and was on top of things. His shop was clean and had a very welcoming environment. And the prices were reasonable. Definitely my new barber. The barbers Glenn and Brito are very friendly and excellent barbers. If you are looking for a relaxing haircut in a friendly atmosphere, then this is the place to go. I never found any issues with the speed. Sometimes they are busy and you have to wait but that's okay. For the people complaining about the speed, go to the chop shops like Super Cuts if you want fast. read more
