The meats are fine, nothing special by any stretch of the imagination. If a shop is not offering anything special then their service should be exceptional. This is not the case. This is an update to my prior review. I tried this store twice more in the past two weeks. The attitude of the apparent owner and counter clerk remain the same. It's is virtually impossible to ask them a question about a product (whether they have it or not) without getting a degree of attitude. My impression is that they are unhappy people. I have broad shoulders, but I felt belittled each time. I am sorry, but I am done. I shopped at the Publix 21st Street meat counter and felt appreciated. read more

After having read several reviews that were less than stellar, I was somewhat hesitant about how good the meats would be. I visited the store twice to see what it was like. I found the shoppe to be exceptionally clean, tidy and displaying a sufficient variety of meats for an adequate selection. I decided the Butcher Shoppe was worth a try after having a horrendous experience at the Fresh Market butcher counter. I went back to the Butcher Shoppe to pick up veal chops and bone in rib eye steaks. The person at the counter told me they did not have bone it rib eyes that day, but if I could wait a couple of days, they would have them for me and would call me when they were ready for pick up. I went back and sure enough the my rib eyes were ready and so were the veal chops. We prepared the veal chops for grilling that weekend and I cannot tell you how exquisite they were. Juicy, tender and flavorful. Maybe one of the best veal chops I have ever had. The following weekend we grilled the rib eyes. Again, unbelievably tender and flavorful. When it comes to steak and veal, we are snobs. We are very discerning and tough to please, but I must say the quality of these two cuts was outstanding. We will be back to the Butcher Shoppe for more veal and rib eyes and will try their other meats to see if they live up to the quality of what we have already enjoyed. I am confident they will be. No masks. Not on staff and not on customers. I've had Covid and been hospitalized. Don't want it again. An outrage at this time. The only store Ive been to in months with no masking. Been here before. Owner is rude, meat is ok , not special and you can't get custom cuts or grinding of meat. What you see is what you get. Go to Fresh Foods. Better quality, nicer people. I really wanted to make this place a regular stop to support local business and get some nice cuts of steak for home cooked meals. ALL of the ladies I spoke to were miserable and short tempered and downright condescending when it came to answering some friendly basic questions about the dry aged steaks, I left feeling disheartened. Great local business! Every time we come down to enjoy vero beach We come here to get there Colorado lamb and there unbelievable bison and veggie burgers. They are unbelievable and the lamb tastes like steak no gamey flavor at all! The service is great and really enjoy there craft of meat! read more

I have been shopping at this store for several years now. I am not a big meat eater, but family members are and each time we purchase any meat from them everyone raves about it! I often buy many of the prepared foods and I consider myself to be a pretty good cook. This is the only store in the county where I continue to purchase prepared foods because it is the only place where the food is as good as I can prepare. The demand for their prepared food is ever- growing due to word of mouth praise so I often have to wait for some of my favs, but it is well worth the wait! Obviously, things are busier from October through Mother's Day, but the owner and staff have always greeted me and my family members with a smile and take the time to answer any questions. In season the store is busy, but they see customers in order and they take whatever time a customer needs. They insist on only purchasing the best meats and vegetables, so since the pandemic they sometimes have difficulty getting the quality they need and they may be out of a product until they can secure the quality of product they demand. I hope they never close up shop! Vero is fortunate to have them. read more

WOW!! I just called to ask about beef bones and if they sold them and the woman who answered the phone was one of the rudest business owners I've ever spoken to. I have been a chef for 30 years and the woman made me feel like an idiot for asking if they sold them and what the prices might be, which she refused to tell me. Not driving there any time soon! The serve quality meats (at a price) which is fine when you want quality. When I asked the owner for custom cuts of meat she said I don't do that cut and pointed me to the already cut meat. Not a true butcher shop but a normal meat store (buy what's available). I bought some pre-made food but I'm yet to consume them. read more

My wife and I have coming here for almost 5 years now. People are friendly and food is incredible. The best Brats ever! Best Veggie Beef Soup Ever, plus all their prepared males are excellent. Good to have a great butcher in Vero. We tried Fresh Market when we moved here and 3 times in a row we got home with meat to cook the next day, already spoiled and smelled bad. This is a great butcher shop. The service has always been responsive and friendly. The beef, pork and chicken are excellent. The sausages are full of flavor. We used to soak our sausages in beer, but Michelle uses natural skins, so soaking in advance will leach out the spices she puts in. Burgers made with the ground sirloin are the best we've ever had. The chicken pot pies are stuffed with chicken, vegetables and flavor and they are surrounded with a lovely crust. It's all prepared onsite, so pot pies are ordered by Tuesday end of day for pick up Thursday or later, and veal is ordered a day in advance. Thin veal is thinner than I've had before--tasty and quickly cooked. I request a thicker cut for some dishes. Oh I nearly forgot the twice baked potatoes Lisa puts together. I went in today to buy some veal, thin sliced. I was told by the owner that they need 24 hours and they "can't stop what they're doing" to help me. There was no one else in the store and it would have taken 5 minutes to slice it and they would have had $100 for the 4 pounds I wanted.
