I had a highly disappointing experience with this repair shop. I brought in my truck for a loud…read morebanging noise coming from the front right side. The truck was still drivable at the time. The shop kept the vehicle for two full weeks. They diagnosed the front right banging noise as being caused by the rear drums and emergency brake cable. They replaced the cable and addressed the drum issue, charging a total of $864. While the price was expensive, I accepted it because I believed I was paying for quality work. After driving the truck home, I parked it for a few days. The following Sunday, while taking my kids to the park, the exact same noise returned--only louder. I immediately called the shop to report the issue. Jason acknowledged that he had dropped the ball due to their high volume of work and instructed me to bring the truck in the following Wednesday, promising he would return it the same day. He was apologetic during this call. On Wednesday, the day of the appointment, I called to inform him that I had attempted to drive the truck to the shop the night before, but the banging had become so loud and sounded so dangerous that I would need to have it towed instead. I asked if the shop had a tow truck. Jason said they did not and recommended using AAA. I called AAA, signed up for a membership, but learned it would not take effect until the following day. I then called Jason back to ask if we could reschedule for the next day to avoid paying approximately $300 out of pocket for a local tow. At this point, Jason's entire demeanor changed. He began shifting blame onto me as if I had done something wrong and repeatedly emphasized that they "didn't hear" the noise while the truck was in their possession--even though I had specifically pointed out the front right location on the initial visit. I had explicitly told them on day one that it could potentially be a ball joint and asked them to fully diagnose the issue and take their time to ensure it was done correctly. Instead, after two weeks, they sent me home with the same problem unresolved, along with an $864 bill for work that did not address the main issue I brought the truck in for. They then proceeded to blame me for the situation. The call ended with Jason stating, "we just aren't right for each other." I have attached a copy of my receipt as proof that the initial reason I brought the truck in was the right front noise. You can clearly see it labeled on the receipt as "Noise in RF, e brake?" This shows that the shop can claim they fixed the issue all they want, but they did not fix the actual problem. They simply assumed it was something else instead of fully diagnosing it. I assume this "I'm sorry, we're just so busy" excuse is one they use often. This shop appears to be unreliable. I have read reviews from other customers whose vehicles were turned around in just one hour, yet this shop could not resolve a front-end banging noise after keeping my truck for two weeks. When I gave them another opportunity to make it right, Jason responded, "to be honest John, even if you drop it off I won't have the time for a week or two." I strongly recommend staying away from this shop due to their poor service and terrible customer service.

The service was excellent, and the pricing was more than reasonable, especially considering how quickly and effectively the issue was handled. It's hard to find a shop that provides this level of quality, honesty, and value. I highly recommend BJ's Auto Repair and will definitely be going back for future work.

I have mixed feelings about reviewing BJs. People seem to like going there, which is why I gave…read morethem two tries. My issue is that I got an estimate ($400-$600) for brakes (later he told me he meant "per axle" even though he didn't say that), and so I dropped off the car. I then got a call that he had 45 minutes of work into it and it would actually cost $1600. I said yes because his mention of the "45 minutes" made me foresee he was going to charge me a diagnostic fee if I didn't let him complete the work. When I went to pick it up, he said "That will be $1850." He explained that the parts cost more than his mechanical previously told him. He said he did an oil change (that I didn't ask for or want because I pre-paid for routine maintenance at the dealer). After I complained, he reluctantly deducted half the cost of the oil change. I protested because I already paid the dealer for that, and he then took off the rest of the oil change fee, but made me feel bad for asking. He then refused to accept his own $20 coupon because "you already got a deal." And said passively-aggressively: "I wish people knew that these cars are expensive to own." And "I wish people would call the dealer to see that they charge more." Yes, I know they charge more. That is why I came here. He acted like he was losing money, but the rotors, pads, and sensors all come to under $1000 for parts, so even if he stuck to his quote, he would be getting about $650 for labor. Now bad for about three hours of work. I left paying $1710 plus tax, which is $110 more than the quote he gave after taking the car apart and knowing exactly what it needed. So yeah, I feel like I am owed $110 plus tax before all is right in the universe. I am so glad I didn't send my wife in to pay, as she certainly would have just paid the bill without knowing it was wrong.

No surprises, great value, and excellent service all around. He was working alone in the shop but handled everything quickly and efficiently, even with my large Wrangler RT tires. While doing the install, he gave me an honest, straightforward assessment of my brakes, suspension, and front-end components--no upsell, just the facts. He also helped two other walk-in customers without appointments, all while staying on top of my job. In an age where good help is extremely hard to find--especially in trade work--I really appreciate someone who still delivers top-notch, honest service even when shorthanded. Thanks!

When I explained I had an appointment, the mechanic said "this guy did too". When I to give me an estimate on when my car might be ready, he was evasive and said "when it's done we'll call you". When I asked him to be more specific, he said "a couple of hours" in a way that was very vague and made me distrust him. I ended up walking out because I don't have three hours to sit around when I thought it was going to be a one hour appointment. I should've known better. Years ago I came here for an oil change and they tried to upsell me for something I didn't need. Luckily I had information from the manufacturer on what type of oil my car required. I read an online review of this place where the guy watched them work on his car and they never rotated the tires but insisted that they did. This place is unsafe, don't have any work done here!
