Love, compassion and community is the vibration of this wonderful veterinarian hospital just for Cats! This has been my go to place for my cats since the late 1980's. Dr Trish and all of her associate veterinarians have been truly the best in their field and especially recently for my 17 year old Siamese boy. He has an aggressive form of arthritis and started limping as though he was in terrific pain. The office scheduled him an immediate appointment ,started him on some shots to help him, (thinking there would not be much improvement until 4 of them were administered) but he was better the same and next day. They made him comfortable during his stay, x-rayed him, changed his medications and he was not even bit upset after his ordeal. His shots are a major commitment but I do believe he will continue to get better and I have to thank this office for their continued commitment to my Dexter's health and well-being! We had our kitten in for a surgical procedure. After the procedure, they called to let us know everything went well and our kitty was fine. When I went to pick her up the next day, the doctor explained the care and meds we needed to provide for our kitten. I didn't realize my credit card had expired. Maybe it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it was to me when they told me to just give them a call with another credit card number when I got home. We have taken three cats to A Cat Hospital over the past 14 years. They have always been very polite while being professional. They aren't the cheapest vets in town, but their prices are reasonable and they have never tried to force any elective procedures on us. We have to drive much further than we like to, but for the care they show our beloved pets, it is very well worth it. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. They don't care about your pet, they care about the money in their pockets. I took my baby girl in on a Friday because she was very lethargic and just not herself. After the consultation with the nurse, it was agreed upon that the best thing to do would be bloodwork to see what was going on. They gave her some fluids, sent us home and said they would have results the following day. The following day, a nurse called to say that the lab could not locate Cubbi's bloodwork but they would look again to see where it was. That evening, the nurse called us again to say that unfortunately, the lab was not able to find her bloodwork...it was lost. It was signed in but misplaced. At this point, their suggestion was to come back on Monday (since they are not open Sunday) and they would take the bloodwork again. They offered for Cubbi to come in for additional fluids but since she was still eating we agreed it wasn't necessary. Sunday, Cubbi went into serious kidney failure. She was crying in pain and could not use her rear legs. We rushed her to the emergency hospital only to have her bloodwork drawn again. Her numbers were off the chart and her kidneys were no longer functioning. We spent the next 3 days back and forth between emergency hospital at night, and Mountain Vista Vet (who by the way are exceptional) during the day, doing everything possible to try to get her kidneys working again. We spent almost $6k and would have spent more if the doctors would have given us a bit of hope that she could overcome this, but she couldn't. Cubbi took her last breath in my arms the Wednesday following. She was 12 years old. We were devastated especially since she had shown no previous signs of being sick. Not only did A Cat Hospital loose Cubbi's bloodwork, but they never reached back out to us to even check on Cubbi or see if we were coming back in. The Emergency hospital called them to see if they located the bloodwork, which they did, so they could compare the numbers and sure enough, her numbers were lower on that Friday that we took her in and we will never know that if we would have had the results on Saturday, when they promised, maybe Cubbi would still be here. I called A Cat Hospital to inform them of Cubbi's death and ask that they kindly refund the costs for the labwork since we had to pay for a second set of tests since their lab lost the original work. I said I would pay for the office visit and the fluids but I shouldn't have to pay for something that I did not get as promised. Amelia was very empathetic and kind and discussed with Dr. Trish who said the best they could offer would be a 20% discount. What? Are you kidding me? They don't care about your pet, they care about the money in their pockets. One would also think, that Dr. Trish would call and speak to us personally, however, she had her nurses do the dirty work for her. To us, Cubbi's life was priceless, to them, it was only worth $236.36 which is what they charged me for labwork that I never received and they refuse to refund. read more

I recently took 2 of my cats to the Cat Hospital and have never been to a vet that ordered so many tests to jack up the price... I talked to the vet and we decided to get blood work done. The vet tech came back with a laundry list of other tests that totaled over $1,000! Not what we had agreed to do. Then when the blood tests came back, I got a call with the results from someone who had no idea what the results meant ... this is definitely a vet that puts profit over pets and people. read more

I love this place. The people are so very nice and they are terrific with my cat Merle. Merle is a rescue and so I have no idea what his history is. The staff has been so kind. Merle has allergies and he vet has been so caring and helpful with this matter. What I really appreciate is the fact that I wasn't pushed expensive medications and remedies. Merle was given what he needed. Another great thing is that I am given options and I don't feel like I am being railroaded in a certain direction. In the end I also feel that the prices are reasonable. I love it but when you need vet care and you walk away and don't feel like you paid a lot of money. We brought our cat in early morning for a suspected UTI. She has blood in her urine. She is in pain. We brought evidence of the bloody urine. She was there all day. They claimed they couldn't get a sample for a urinalysis and sent us home with her with no antibiotics and want us to come back in the morning. Makes no sense. My cat is still in pain. We took time out of our day to take care of a sick and beloved pet only to have to turn around and spend more time there taking her to and from the vet AGAIN? I am not happy at all with this place. Dr. McAllister seems to have good reviews but all I heard him essentially say was "I didn't have time get a sample. We can try tomorrow." That's no way to treat clients and pets in pain. I am going to look for a different pet hospital. read more

My cat will never be returning here. I dropped her off at 7:30 AM when it opened and I asked for one simple thing to be done, her nails trimmed, my cat does have a high stress when she's in a new environment, but they could have called me because they had my number and told me that they might have to sedate her in order to do it. But instead they waited until 5 When I got off work to tell me that they weren't able to trim her nails. I calmly asked if I could speak to the vet. they told me the vet was busy talking with other patients my cat is a patient here too. I bring my cat to other borders and she has never been this stressed out. I am so disappointed. They say they know how to deal with cats but obviously they don't know what they're doing. Dr. Heather and the team at A Cat Hospital have watched over our 4 fur babies for the last few years. My youngest baby was diagnosed with a terminal disease (FIP) and while the process of caring for him and ultimately putting him to sleep was handled so well by the team here that I have to share my thoughts. I came home from a work trip and saw that my kitten was sick. I called and they fit me in within an hour of calling. They ran thorough tests and gave me great advice which allowed me to spend an extra two days with my cat. When it came time to send him over the rainbow bridge they allowed me to come in within 30 minutes on a Saturday. Everyone was so understanding and supportive in such a crappy time. I felt like I wasn't alone and everyone really understood how hard this was for me. The staff here treats your kitties like they are their own. This office is nothing short of amazing. Each exam room is equipped with a cat tree and treats! The doctors and staff are knowledgeable and extremely compassionate. I will continue to take all of my cats here even though I am moving a little further away from the office. read more

This is hands down my favorite vet office of all time! When you get there they immediately take you back to a room where there is cat trees and toys and even snacks for your babies! My kitties have high anxiety going to the vets office but they feel so comfortable the second we get there and they can play. I can not say enough good things about this Vet Clinic! From drop off to pickup they are wonderful! The ladies that work in the front are so sweet and treat your animals like a king/queen. They are honest and upfront about cost when you call- there's no question of what you are getting into once you agree to a procedure. Highly recommend to anyone that needs a bet for their cat! Not sure why someone would review this place negatively, as the prices here are well below what I have paid in other areas of the country (Seattle, Los Angeles). What's really important though is that they treat my two cats like the spoiled princesses they are, and although it is a huge nightmare taking them here, they still behave well and seem to enjoy the attention they get from the staff. As for the vets themselves, they are easy to get an appointment with at short notice, and are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My older cat was having some issues that was amazingly traced back to an allergy to certain foods. Normally, most doctors just treat the symptoms, but they were knowledgeable to check their allergies first before doing any treatments that would make the cats feel uncomfortable. Even though I have moved out of the Henderson area, I am still taking them here, as finding a good vet is like gold. I would give this business more stars if I could. read more

My husband and I are new to the area and were absolutely panicked when our beloved Momma Cat became ill. We found A Cat Hospital late in the day on a Saturday and the wonderful staff saw us immediately at a very reasonable rate. I would give this place minus stars if I could. They have consistently misdiagnosed my Maine Coon cat, who has cardiomyopathy, lung fluid, and breathing issues. They have tried to get me to order useless tests, and when she most likely had a blood clot paralyzing her hind legs, they totally missed it. They are inconsistent in telling me what the issue is: she has a heart murmer; she doesn't have a heart murmur. All they have done is charged a bunch of money. Don't use them. read more

These folks have been so kind to my 2 cats when I have needed to travel. It's clean, I love the active room and the calm room for the cats to stay in. The costs have been very reasonable especially with my one special needs cat who has medical issues. Its always a fuss when I come in, where they ooh and ahh over the cats. I feel they really care. Jenn & Linda are great and I have always felt they give me a straight honest assessment with my cats. The vets always give me options knowing I am on a budget. I had to put my eldest to sleep some months back and it was awful for me, but they were genuinely caring and in the moment. Big hugs to these folks. Just relocated to Las Vegas. I am the proud owner of 3 kitties and was beyond excited to find a vet that only attended to cats. When I seen A Cat Hospital I decided to stop in to see about bringing my senior cat in for monthly injections that she's been getting for years. The front staff was very nice and willing to answer any questions that they could that I might have. I took the paper work home with me to fill out and went back the following week for an appointment. The office is very clean, neat and seems to run extremely efficient. Dr Heather came in and examined my kitty and let me know that they would gladly order what injection my cat needed. My kitties are my kids so I tend to be extremely picky on vets. I couldn't have been more pleased with Dr. Heather. Sas, my Bengal, isn't the most pleasant cat to deal with at vet appointments but Dr Heather was very patient with her and very gentle. Recently our cat Grayson had gotten near a Siberian Lily we had in a flower arrangement. The girls in the office figured out what kind of flower it was. I took my cat here after transferring from another vet, whose only option was to put him down right away. Dr. Anna treated my cat with care and love like it was her own. She fight or my kitty for a month and a half until it was finally time to let him go. All the staff and doctors in this building are the most welcoming and kindhearted people. LOVE this vet for my cats. They do low cost spay/neuter on Thursdays for everyone. I called on a Tuesday and got an appointment for the Thursday of that week to get my boy neutered. They took such good care of him, gave me regular updates and when I went to pick him up they were torn to let him go because they loved him so much. I can call with health questions, ask about what/how much to feed, absolutely anything. They are so polite and helpful and they treat their kitty patients so well. Love that they are cat specific so that there is no stress taking the cats in and risking conflict with dogs. It's also fun that in their exam rooms while you're waiting for the vet they have tons of cat toys, towers for them to play on. Makes the vet less scary for them. We love this vet! read more

We have two cats-- one older cat who is very fearful and a kitten who is fearless. Our previous vet was not very understanding of the older cat's fears and constantly called her aggressive. Everyone at A Cat Hospital is respectful and understanding when it comes to our wigged out kitty. We never feel like she is a hardship to treat and they don't jump right into, "She's too keyed up. We have to sedate her." MY husband and I are very pleased with the quality of care and the professionalism of the staff. As for fees, we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable everything seems. We took our kitty to A Cat Hospital to get declawed. Great experience! Dr. Zamzow was amazing. They kept our cat overnight (which was including in the cost). We upgraded to laser surgery which was extra, but worth it. Dr. Zamzow carefully explained the procedure that she did and also explained after care for our kitten. Unfortunately, while my cat's kidneys were failing, she was given sub-standard care at this hospital and it was only by calling my former vet in California that I learned they should've recommended immediate check-in to an ER with fluids and monitoring for three to five days. They basically gave me some fluids and sent her home to die. In the words of the young vet who gave my cat an exam, "There's nothing I can do." About a week later, when I mentioned to the receptionist that I had taken my cat to LV Specialty Center and that she was getting the treatment she deserved, another vet actually began yelling at me while another client and her cat were waiting in the lobby. Sadly, I think it was what you would call, "going Vegas" - as in, "she went all Vegas on me." It was outrageous. No professionalism, no sensitivity, no empathy, no respect, and a total lack of accountability. My cat was at death's door and I was calling them on their low-quality care and rather than giving me the chance to speak with her privately, the vet made a scene, yelling at me like some kind of 10-year old throwing a fit. She said something about having been a vet for more than 30 years. I have to ask myself where she was trained and how she's even allowed to practice, but my vet told me this is the standard of care here, unfortunately. Typical. Fortunately my cat improved dramatically when I took her to LV Specialty Center. I learned the hard way though. If you want proper, high-quality care for your cat, do not go here. They not only are not equipped to deal with chronic issues (hello - what about referrals, people?!), but their charges are exorbitant. Through the roof. Run, don't walk, away from this place. Their whole cat theme is a cute gimmick on the surface but when you get deeper you see they're lacking in professionalism, expertise and discernment. What a disappointment. read more
