We found ourselves unable to unlock the door from our garage to our kitchen. After trying to become amateur locksmiths with quality education from YouTube videos, we finally threw in the towel. We found this locally-owned company right in our Middletown neighborhood and they had good reviews on Yelp. Within 24 hours a most pleasant gentleman had come to our rescue and removed the rebel lock. He even helped my husband with advice and assistance on installing the new lock, with no increase in the quoted price. The charge was reasonable for lock services in the area and we would not hesitate to use their services again! Highly recommend. Bring your title or registration matching your license. They were friendly and funny. I needed 6 keys cut between two Fords. They were very helpful. They helped me reset my existing programmed keys and program four keys and they manually found the key shape and cut all the four to spec. For my other vehicle they cut two keys to match my existing keys. They were may cheaper than every other quote I got. Compared to others I got six keys for less than the price of one. read more

I'm surprised I didn't already review A Cheaper Locksmith. For the last 15 years I've recommended this company based on our periodic experiences. However, our last experience wiped all of that goodwill away. I'm only writing this review now because I have the promised items in hand. I truly thought I was not only never going to see the keys we ordered and purchased for two cars but that I wouldn't get my money back either. We needed keys for two cars so that we had security if we lost a key or got locked out. One was for an older Mazda and another for a newer Hyundai. We prepaid and waited for weeks and weeks for their arrival. Our weeks turned into months and even after being told our keys were ready, we walked out multiple times without them - super inconvenient after leaving work or school early to get our cars there (these keys couldn't be picked up without the cars). We asked for our money back at one point and were told that would be done. After waiting two months and checking for credits we had to visit the store again to ask for resolution. Did we get our money back? No. Did we finally get our keys, months and months later. Yes. Will I return? Absolutely never. Terrible customer service. Trying to get a spare key made for our car. Dealer wanted $$$$, car is too new for those KeyMe vending machines (key required programming to the vehicle). Great place! Very professional and knowledgeable. Was in and out in 15 minutes with two totally functioning key fobs . One was a spare I only used once to manually unlock the door when I locked my main set in the car. It never worked so I just assumed it just needed a battery. So we bought a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder for my sister. We got a great deal on it but there were no keys. The Nissan dealer was of no help (see review of Neil Huffman Nissan) and we ventured into the land of the locksmith. Sexy Beast called about a dozen of them over the course of a week and got few responses and no call backs. One guy kept saying that he *might* be able to get to us the next day but he wouldn't commit. Many of these places listed themselves as 24 hour emergency lock out specialists. So, I took over. I started at the top of the alphabetical list and was prepared to call every locksmith in the area. The third one I called answered immediately. Jay told me that he could be at my location in a few hours. He had a job that he was working on at that time. It would take him about an hour to complete. He promised to call when he was on the way. And, he did. He called promptly about an hour later, got directions, and made sure that we could stay in contact should he get lost (which he did because I live in the middle of nowhere). I met him at the car and he went right to work. He made a single key on the spot. It took about 30 or 40 minutes and cost $75. So had four keys cut and programmed for two difficult vehicles. Had contacted two other so called locksmiths and they would not even talk about it unless I bought their overpriced keys. These guys said no problem, were quick, efficient, well priced and a pleasure to deal with. They are a mom and pop store not your big box store who doesn't care if they serve you or not. Will say they are sometimes a little slow to answer the phone but that's because they are busy and you will talk to a real person not a computer that takes you five minutes to have an actual person answer. We were locked out of the car in tiny Milltown, IN, an hour away from home with our car keys at the bottom of a river (long story) and no spare key, and our cell phones and wallets were all locked in the car. The sun was beginning to go down and we feared having to sleep outside and fall prey to the neighborhood dogs. The super nice lady at the canoe rental nearby let us borrow their landline so that we could make SOS calls AAA, local locksmiths and Mazda dealerships. Apparently Mazdas are especially hard to make keys for - can't just use any old key blank because the keys are computerized - not even the dealership in Louisville carried blanks. We only had $25 between the four of us, which wasn't enough for a cab ride home, so we bought a 6 pack of beer to drink our sorrows away while we waited for a lifeline. Long story short, after the guy at AAA spent hours contacting lots of locksmiths who couldn't work on a Mazda, he finally found David at A Cheaper Locksmith, who magically got into the car without a key, turned the alarm off, and cut and programmed us a new key (and a spare!) in only 30 minutes. It was an emotional moment when the engine rumbled to life.
