Hired these guys a few years ago. All I can say is check old boxes for any missing. It took me a while to notice. Geronimo will just argue with you. Be careful who you have move your stuff. Before the move, I spoke with the manager, Geronimo, who assured me the job would be completed in approximately 4 hours. Based on this information, I agreed to hire the company. On the day of the move, two workers were sent to my home. They arrived late and initially worked quickly for about 30 minutes while loading items into the truck. After some of my belongings were already loaded, their pace significantly slowed. They repeatedly stated that I had too much stuff and that the job would take much longer. The move ultimately took 8 hours instead of the estimated 4 hours, doubling the expected cost. read more

We had a great experience with this company. Geronimo was quick to get back to us, even out of normal business hours. He was informative and responsive. He texted us early the day before for confirmation, and his guys showed up promptly to work on the moving day (about 6 minutes early). We worked with CJ and Eon, and they were very helpful. They reviewed everything we had (which wasn't really all that much) and then went to work. They got everything we had into the truck in about 1 hour and unpacked it at the new place in about 45 minutes. They were still very quick, efficient, and easy to work with. I couldn't imagine anyone I know (who has their strength) to work near as fast. They seemed to have a good system and teamwork. This experience was a rollercoaster. I'm not writing this to speak poorly of the business because I support small businesses all around, but I want others to make their own educated decision and hire a company that they trust to do an important service such as moving your valuable items. Unfortunately due to the character limit, I can't fit all of the details. I reached out to the owner about all of my concerns so I'll mention his responses here. I would normally give 1 star but I appreciated that the owner did at least respond, but it still doesn't negate the experience I had on moving day. My husband was the one who first met the movers at the old house and said they took time putting up blankets on corners and walls before moving furniture out. It sounded promising. First they told my husband that they don't take apart the washer and dryer and will only move it, so he had to take it apart himself. I confirmed this service when I booked the move so it seemed like miscommunication at some point. I texted the owner to clarify; he later called me with a very rude tone and didn't say who he was (the caller ID just said "wireless caller"). When I picked up he just said "Who is there?" I responded confused - I had no idea who this was or what they were talking about, until I realized he was asking me who the movers names were. It was offensive & unprofessional - a friend wouldn't talk to me like that, let alone an owner of a business I'm paying. The owner later apologized, saying it was not fair of him to assume I knew who was calling or who his movers' names were. We ended up having to pay a separate appliance repair guy to come hook up our washer/dryer for us. One of the reasons I chose this moving company was because they said they uninstall/install so I wish I picked a company that truly does offer that service. When the movers arrived at the new home there were several times I had to direct where items were going, despite the boxes already being carefully labeled. You can imagine this is frustrating as I'm simultaneously trying to take care of my baby or unpack boxes coming in. Towards the end, one of the movers was complaining about being off the clock and how he wasn't going to finish putting the bed together. He was walking back and forth inside & outside, speaking profanity in front of us - extremely unprofessional but also a bit scary honestly to have that hostility inside of my home. The owner later told me that this employee was let go. In the end our bed was never reassembled. The movers left pieces of the base at our old home that were needed in order for the mattress to stay level. We had to figure it out late in the evening just so we could have something to sleep on. It was extremely heavy for the two of us. They also forgot the electric plug for our mattress base, so we had to go back to our house a 2nd time for that. However they lost the power supply for the base somewhere, so now we're left with this $3000 bed base that won't work anymore because we can't plug it in. The owner asked for details of the bed base and the store it was purchased so they could handle it. UPDATE: The power supply was found in a random plastic bag left in our garage. There are other pieces in there too but we have no idea where they go because the movers are the ones who disassembled the bed. Several heavy items were left out of place. My husband has back injuries and I recently had a baby so that was the whole point of hiring movers - because we can't easily move these items ourselves. The owner later addressed that we were supposed to have a walkthrough before signing and payment to confirm that everything was in the correct place in each room. After they left, they called us to pay for an extra hour because he miscalculated. That shouldn't have been our fault but since we're honest people, we reached back out to figure out what happened so we could pay. I explained to him I wasn't happy that there were several items left behind and not complete, and he was nice enough to take off $50 from the hour we owed, but it still didn't feel like enough compensation for all this hassle. To end on a positive note we did appreciate Josh's friendly manner and personality, but I wish the job would've been done correctly. He was responsive when I reached out to him in the evening about our bed and not being able to physically move it ourselves. He was ready to drive out to us 45 minutes away but luckily we figured it out ourselves. It is my belief that he just got stuck with a poor team, because he seems to be such a hard worker with excellent customer service. Moving is stressful for anyone let alone a family moving with an infant, so to pay nearly $1000 for a partial job is really unnerving and upsetting. I wish we had gotten a referral from someone we know instead. It just goes to show that even businesses with 4-5 stars have their hiccups and I just got the unlucky straw that day. read more

Oh my gosh. Where to even begin with this company? Geronimo is one of the nicest, genuine business owners you will meet. He truly does what's right for his customers. We had a move from sacramento to Lincoln and his two movers were unbelievable. They were so professional, respectful, and FAST. They work so hard. They wrapped everything, even things we said didn't care to have wrapped. They ended up at the Lincoln house after dark and laid blankets down before putting the ramp down so it didn't disturb the neighbors, like, are you kidding me? So thoughtful! If I could I would rate my experience 3.5 stars. It's funny how with a move you can have a different experience immediately upon "completion" and then feel differently as a little time has passed and you get settled in. It's 1:30 in the morning and Geronimo and Roger just finished our move. Despite being their third move of the day and them being caught off guard with the size of our move, they completed most of what was asked of them. However, many things were done sloppily and we didn't realize until after getting settled in. The washer and dryer hook ups, the refrigerator and freezer handles, and some of the furniture were all put together incorrectly. Being large items it was extremely challenging and upsetting to remedy once they were gone. read more

Wow!!! This company simply is AWESOME!! From the start of me inquiring about pricing I was provided with a prompt reply and a very detailed quote of what they offered. It was so great there was no need for any follow up questions! Once I decided to move forward with my reservation I was told I would get a confirmation the day before my scheduled move was to take place. I received the follow up confirmation the day before which was a relief because you know you plan things ahead but anything could change on either party's end. The day of my move I also received a text of a ETA to my starting location. I met the two movers there and was provided a copy of my invoice to sign so they could start the process. These guys were super fast and extremely careful of my belongings. They wrapped my mirrors, dressers, and anything else they felt was precious cargo. Witching a hour we were heading to my drop off location. Once we arrived to the final drop off location the guys did a quick view of my home to see what they were working with and got right to moving the items inside. I really appreciated how they were checking in to see where I wanted certain items as not to just put things anywhere. That made my unpacking even more stress free. Once they got all my items from the truck inside they asked did I need anything moved around or any support with assembling items. I didn't need any further support so I paid them and obviously gave a tip for making my move easy, fast and stress free! If you are looking for movers in the Sacramento area. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. So much so I've already provided a few people with the company info because I was provided with great service. Pricing: I selected the Flat rate option and was provided with 2 movers and a truck with the 3 hour minimum. They did mention if the move required longer time there would be an additional cost but the way these guys moved I was done before my 3 hour time frame! Throughout our first initial request, Geronimo was on it and always had a quick response time. We had two guys on the job who were well communicative and double checked with us on which furniture we wanted to move (we were moving furniture from our home office into our work office building). We had a few fragile items, which they made sure to securely package or keep up front in the truck with them, which we appreciated a lot. I scheduled a move with these guys on Halloween for my 4 bd house. They came out first thing in the morning with three guys and a 26 foot truck and started right away. I purchased the insurance because I have some valuable items and also we were moving into a house that just got new paint and floors so that made the price a little higher than I was originally quoted. They wrapped everything and were very careful moving all of my items. They were very communicative about what was going or staying and how they needed to get the truck packed. Text at crazy hours of the night. We booked with him 8 days before our move and he said he would check in to confirm the day before. Didn't answer all day. My boyfriend and I had a very successful move thanks to Geronimo and his team. He was quick to respond with a quote. Up front, he provided a lot of important details and was very thorough. His prices are great and beat out any competing quotes I got. Come move in day, which obviously is very stressful, Geronimo and his partner were very professional and efficient and made it easier for us. They even texted to let us know they were running behind (which was fine because we were too lol) and we already knew it was due to something out of their control. We didn't mind at all. They did a walk through and let us explain everything we wanted them to pack up. I couldn't believe they remembered everything ha! They were very efficient and worked well together. I've used a lot of movers in my life and these guys were absolutely some of the best. Upfront, arranging this was easy and all by yelp and message. Morning of the move, they called to check in and arrived well within the estimated time range. My actual move started with some packing. With a team of 3, took them all of 30 minutes to box up my (apartment sized) kitchen, box a few tvs and get the odds and ends I hadn't wrapped ready. From there, they moved box by box, friendly, chatty, but efficient. The drive had no delays, the unpacking into storage was super quick, and that was the end of all that. Despite working with 3 flights of stairs on the way out of my old place, in the summer heat, they crushed things and finished up in about 4 hours, well faster than the guesstimate we had started with. No issues, no drops, and most of all, no fuss. read more

We have used Geronimo and his Team for 2 different moves. The 1st time they moved a 2700 sq ft home in a day and set up our new home to where we were comfortable that 1st night. So obviously we contacted them again when our new home was destroyed in a storm and we had to move out. Without hesitation, Geronimo had 2 teams dispatched to our home. They packed us up and took 1 truck to a storage unit and another truck to our 2nd floor apartment. Due to the urgency we were not packed up and they did it for us. Requested some quotes through Yelp for a last minute moving service, got a few responses back but Geronimo offered a great rate that was hard to beat and also had availability for the weekend. I previously rated A Couple Great Movers when I moved my household furnishings locally into a storage facility in Elk Grove about 9 months ago. I FINALLY moved into new construction in Idaho just over 1 week ago. Francisco and JP were the crew this time, and they were fantastic! They packed the truck with all the belongings from a 15' x 20' storage area ( stacked almost 8' high) and about 80 boxes and misc items in a 5' x 10' storage area into a 26' truck. NONE of the furniture was damaged during the move or unloading, and they moved everything into the rooms where the items belonged, including 2 very large pier cabinets upstairs, with only two minor wall scratches. The total cost came in just under $6000, a little less than the original estimate for the nearly 600 mile interstate move. I HIGHLY recommend A Couple Great Movers for any move you are considering! The owner, Geronimo, kept in touch with me over the past 8 months, endured 3-4 different potential move dates ( due to construction delays) and we changed the date again, because of weather conditions, in the last 10 days prior to the move. He took all of that in stride, assuring me that he would be able to move us on our timetable. He was very responsive to numerous texts/calls during the 8-9 months, and I was very appreciative of his reassurance along the way that they would be ready to move us when we were ready. read more

I started my movers search about a week prior to my desired move date. Geranamo was very efficient to respond to my inquiry and his pricing seemed fair. He even took the time to call me directly and answer some additional questions, which I appreciated! Day of move they called ahead of time to let me know they were about 15 min late, which again I appreciated. They arrived with a three man crew as expected. The truck looked plenty big and they had all the pads and dollies too. My 4 star rating is for these reasons. I found the crew to be a bit unorganized. At one point there were 2 guys working to disassemble a $200 day bed while the third guy was hoisting $5,000 sectional pieces over his head alone to get them to the truck. I witnessed my sofa being scraped against the stucco several times at which point I started to help. Later while 2 guys arranged the truck (which I get is tricky and takes time) the third guy was wandering around on a hurt ankle. At this point I proceeded to haul more that 10 large backyard furniture pieces, 10 patio chairs and a BBQ to the front lawn myself. Finally multiple pieces were slightly damaged upon arrival. Multiple bent items and chipped paint and scratches that were not there originally. Bottom line, I'm glad I moved all of my boxes and art earlier in the week myself. Would I use them again? Possibly for a large move of less delicate items. read more

I had TWO moves to coordinate in one week. #FML (!) came to mind as two leases expired simultaneously but A Couple Great Movers saved the day and I can say with certainty that this company does a spectacular job at moving. Geronimo, the owner, promptly replied to my phone call and I was able to give him the details for each move. We were booked into his busy schedule quickly and he verbally told me all the details and then texted all the information which was really helpful. All the pricing was held to 100% and was fair. On moving day #1 Dan and his partner showed up and quickly and efficiently moved all of my boxes and furniture into the waiting truck. No complaints from the guys even with a small elevator and third floor apartment. They were super strong, fast, and set my mind at ease with their approach to business. Everything arrived at destination with nary a scratch and they were happy to move everything to the second floor. Move #2 also went off without a hitch a few days later- including a last minute reschedule when a carpentry issue had to be fixed for safe entry to the house. Geronimo rescheduled so we could still move that week. Amazing. We threw more curveballs to the team with not only items in storage in a basement but a ton of stuff that had to be out of the space STAT but wouldn't fit in the new space. The guys suggested loading the unwanted items to the back and knew where to go- Deseret Industries- where most items would be accepted for donation. The move was done efficiently, costs were fair, the contract for service was transparent and easy to understand, and everything arrived in great condition. With unexpected events, stress, and logistical nightmares looming the last week of July, a couple of great movers came through and saved the day- twice in one week. I was in a major time crunch to clear out the large items in my dad's home. I've been following A Couple Great Movers on Instagram for a while now and always knew I wanted to use them if I ever needed assistance moving. I reached out to Geronimo via text to see when their next available appointment was. He responded very quickly and could help me move within a few days. Geronimo's communication with me was better than I could have asked for. He provided me with all the information I needed via text and checked in with me multiple days before the move to see if there was anything else I needed. The crew arrived on time and the guys were incredibly professional and kind. Most of the furniture they were moving were passed down a few generations in my family. They treated each item like it was their own, using the utmost care and extra wrapping the most vulnerable areas/items to protect them. The guys were so personable and even took the time to ask which pieces were the most important to me. We hired this company to load a trailer with our household goods. The two movers the company sent were asked to load our very expensive bed a certain way which they ignored. When our household goods got to our final destination the base of the bed was broken and un-repairable. When we contacted the owner about replacing it he said he can't be responsible because they didn't drive it to the final destination. We understand that, however, his employees were negligent and stacked heavy boxes on our bed which broke it. We are now out over $3,000 to replace it. If you hire these movers ensure you have at least two people to monitor what they are doing. One in the house and one at the trailer or truck to ensure they don't break your valuables!! read more

We got last minute news that we would be moving 4,000 miles and we did the best we could to pack and move while working 40 hours a week and with COVID-19 preventing us from getting help from friends/family. We've never used any sort of professional packing or moving services all the other times we've had to move so we didn't know what to expect. Communicated the whole time and on original quote he provides some good tips and questions to ask other moving companies just so we have the best experience possible. He by far provides the best moving services, dressers were wrapped with plastics and moving blankets. They took apart beds and large furniture and even set it back up. Covered the entry way with carpet to avoid dirt and dust throughout the home and place a blanket by the henges coming into the home to avoid is scuffs. Horrible! Do not use them! They hire people who are complete dirt bags! One guy was mentally ill. He peed himself! I had to ask to have him removed from the job! He showed up on a motorcycle with tons of crap attached to it! Dirty smelly and completely nutz! The owner despite one worker still charged me $1,600.00 which I paid because I am not a jerk. They moved me a .5 miles from my house to a storage. Damaged multiple pieces of furniture. I am disappointed that the owner at the end of the move wouldn't take my card as he was worried I wouldn't pay! I wouldn't pay I shouldn't have paid for the horrible service I received. The WORST moving company I've ever dealt with. Geronimo the business owner is a complete crook. They showed up 4 hours late, damaged $10,000 worth of furniture, didn't wrap a thing, and lastly won't even let us file a claim for all our damaged goods. The owner and manager blocked my number so I can't file a claim or get compensated for the damages. It got so bad I had to file for small claims.
